Mud Flaps

Thanks! Yeah, this Samsung S9 phone takes insane pics...

Forgot to mention, that these mudflaps do possibly require drilling 1 hole per flap through the existing OEM plastic wheel well cover, to attach the farthest inner edge of the Gatorback. I say 'possibly' since the mudflap is very firmly attached to the OEM attach points. I haven't drilled yet, but do plan to. Should be pretty easy...

So do you have the "optional" wheel well liners? My Laramie has a left and right liner but not the top, that was extra. This is causing me to not have a mounting point for hole"5" in the gatorback installation manual. I take it that you probably have the full liner. I think I may have to buy the full liner to make the mount more secure, Any thoughts from anyone?

I would suggest that if you ever get to the point where you are relying on that 5th connection to the very flimsy wheel wells then you are going to lose the mudflap. I would think that they would be very securely fastened with the 4 connections that you could make.

There is a lot of flap hanging away from where it is secured. Picture it with frozen slush on it.

I just installed some Gatorback black gunmetal mudflaps onto my '19 Limited. Super easy install (much easier than on my F150 previously owned). The metal badge portion is a bit shiny (it's not matte), but it'll get dusty in no time and won't remain shiny unless I cleaned it regularly.

These mudflaps are awesome quality--heavy duty rubber, not hard plastic like the OEM Mopars or even the Weathertechs. On my previous F150, the Gatorbacks weathered very well after ~5 yrs of use. They are pricey, but you get what you pay for...

I installed the weather tech today. From what I can see on the pics they are finished nicer than the mopar. Mopar has a big gap/ cup on the bottom that looks like it can collect water & dirt.

The MOPARs look awesome as long as you have black wheel arches...any other color and they look like crap. Pretty truck...I like red!

I can tell you that the WeatherTechs are a simple bolt on...no drilling so assume the Mopar are the same as anything different would be just plain stupid.

Thanks! I can see why other truck colors would look bad with them. Its almost like a Rebel ideal application as it works so well against the flat black factory flares and black lower body color. As others have mentioned, for some odd reason Mopar accessory designers left openings in flares where tires sling mud, etc that can collect and needs to be flushed out with hose while washing rig. That area behind tires should have no place for debris to catch as that is the whole reason for adding splash guards is to deal with mud, rocks, and snow off tires. You would think someone would have caught that in the design stage. I trimmed front ones because of tire rubbing and cut off inside area that had a debris pocket but rear ones still have a slot that catches crap.

Yes, the Gatorbacks require some drilling into the plastic. You won't see it though. Download the instructions from the web site.

The mopar flaps look like they always end up biased inwards and are not center on the tire. Can anyone confirm this is true/false?

I've noticed the same thing. The bottom edge and RAM logo doesn't appear level to the ground beneath.
