Mud Flaps

Thanks for the additional pics...they look like they offer about the same coverage level as the Mopars.

I’m a little worried about how much of the Mopar mud flap is unsupported on the 2019’s. There’s just no attachment point that I can see to the interior side of the flap.

Also, did Mopar stop making rubber mud flaps and go to molded plastic only? Within the last year or two I couldn’t get any rubber Ram mud flaps, and couldn’t easily find any online. I have a set of the rubber Mopar ones on my current pickup that work great and are as good as new 5 years later. We had Weathertech flaps put on a different pickup and they didn’t last more than a few months. The attachment points just didn’t hold them on for us. Is there supposed to be any advantage to the hard plastic flaps, or are they mostly just for appearance?

I've put on the weather techs, and they are fairly secure (each has at least 4 attachment points. Most use the existing hardware fender...the front one uses the 3 screws in the fendor and one trim push through that is included. You can see how the fronts are attached in the picture below. I can't say anything about the longivity though....winter and snow will be my test this year, since the I dont do any serious off roading with mine.

I went ahead and ordered the Gatorback Black powder coated ones today. Heavy rubber, with the steel plate on the back (not facing the tire). I did some research and they get great reviews. No drill in body frame. I'll update with pictures when they arrive.

I wasn't willing to drive around for a few months in a $57,000 truck without mud flaps. The WeatherTechs don't appear to offer any more protection than the Mopars so I can't see a reason to switch...

I didn’t mean to say anything bad about the Weathertech flaps specifically. To me, it seems the pickup doesn’t offer good enough places to attach the interior side of mud flaps, especially at the rear wheels. That’s a good picture there where you can see how much has to hang off to the side unsupported. It just looks funny to me.

It's about the same on the F150, they only really can attach on the fender lip. And I agree - the mopar flaps look funny!

A bit pricey, but I like the look. I liked the gunmetal ones too, but I'm afraid they would be more reflective than I want. These might be the ticket.

I just installed some Gatorback black gunmetal mudflaps onto my '19 Limited. Super easy install (much easier than on my F150 previously owned). The metal badge portion is a bit shiny (it's not matte), but it'll get dusty in no time and won't remain shiny unless I cleaned it regularly.

These mudflaps are awesome quality--heavy duty rubber, not hard plastic like the OEM Mopars or even the Weathertechs. On my previous F150, the Gatorbacks weathered very well after ~5 yrs of use. They are pricey, but you get what you pay for...

Forgot to mention, that these mudflaps do possibly require drilling 1 hole per flap through the existing OEM plastic wheel well cover, to attach the farthest inner edge of the Gatorback. I say 'possibly' since the mudflap is very firmly attached to the OEM attach points. I haven't drilled yet, but do plan to. Should be pretty easy...

Not installed yet, but they already came in the mail. Just ordered on Friday. I'll post more pics when I get my truck soon, but quality is very good. Here are a couple close ups.
