Loud Rumbling/Revving Noise

I'm having the same humming noise with my 2019 Ram, it's currently at the dealership but they can't get it to happen again. Has anyone found a fix for this????

Disconnect the ANC mics. For them to replicate put a passenger in the back and drive the truck at a cruising speed.

I unplugged mine to prove to them that the noise is coming from the speakers they still havent done anything. I'm taking it to a different dealer Friday to see what they say.

I have the same problem with a new 2019 2500 and it is most definitely the ANC causing the noise with the sub. Anyone know where the module is for the 2500’s to disable? I can’t seem to locate it under the seat as per other discussions.

@RamCares, can you please post a copy of TSB 08-056-19, which apparently supersedes TSB 08-033-19 on this ANC issue? I saw that you had previously posted the latter. To date the TSB's have, I believe, only listed the 6-speaker system as affected. However, I have the 10-speaker Alpine system and my vehicle has this ANC issue as well. I'm curious to see if the new TSB also lists the Alpine and/or Harman Kardon systems, in addition to the 6-speaker system. Thank you!

Mine happened on the test drive with the sales guy in the vehicle with me. We added it to the due bill when I purchased a few days ago. Wonder what happens if it's on the due bill and they can't fix it?

Hi CodeTHR33,
I have included a copy of the TSB below. If you need any assistance while working with your dealer or would like to know if this TSB applies to your VIN, please send us a private message!

Good luck with that. Ram customer service is the worst. They will make you promises and then not deliver. With all the issues I've had with my truck they said they would give me some money back and an extended warranty. I havent recieved either and they still havent even fixed 2 of the issues. Definitely the worst customer service I've ever dealt with by far.

Hi,

New to the forum, I have a 2019 Ram that's a week old with 100 miles. Last night I turned the car on and as I put it into drive, there was a terrible loud, low pitched rumbling noise in the truck. I'm talking ear-piercingly loud. At first I thought it was engine related but as I tried to diagnose it sounded like it was coming from the car speakers. Is this an active noise cancellation malfunction? It was almost like it was taking engine noise and amplifying it throughout the entire truck. Turned it on this morning and had no issues. I called the dealer and they suggested I record or call them the next time I hear it.

Anyone heard of this before? It was so loud I literally had ringing in my ears last night and this morning.

Yes I also have heard this noise in my 2019 Ram 1500 it was a low pitch sound but when I cut off my truck and turn back the sound was gone this has happen two times since I have this New Truck and I don't what trigger it

I have a 2019 Ram 1500 Laramie 4x4 sport. I have noticed this sound while driving on the highway. Does anyone else hear anything similar to this? Noise is noticeable around 80mph

Same thing is happening to my 2019 Ram 1500 Tradesman. It has happened couple times. Getting the humming noise as soon as i start my truck and would occur repeatedly and would go right away if i restart the truck. I have taken video but not sure how can i post it here! Is there anyone who has experienced something similar?

Just happened to me yesterday on a 300 mile round trip with my daughter... Steady cruise at 70mph, it would sound as if the truck just downshifted for a couple of seconds?? No change in RPM or speed, just a couple seconds of increased Hemi exhaust note, which actually sounds awesome, but it's pretty annoying to hear it fluctuate for no reason for 300 miles...

One method of eliminating the rumble from the ANC system is to install an ANC bypass cable. Those of us that have done so report excellent results with little or no increase in interior noise. All systems remain operable except of course the ANC system. See thread here for more and for one source of such cable. On the 2019 RAM 1500 Limiteds, this cable plugs into the amp under the driver's seat. You remove the existing cable, plut in the bypass cable, then plug the factory cable into the other end of the bypass cable. In my case, the rumble appeared when I installed an aftermarket sub and amp under the rear bench seat. The ANC bypass cable solved the problem. https://5thgenrams.com/community/threads/anc-delete-harness.12419/

Hi, I just purchased 2019 Longhorn Hemi w/e-torque a week ago (212 miles) and noticed this exact sound yesterday, same situation, driving on freeway around 70-75 and noise just started. It went away after few seconds, not sure if I fluctuated the throttle when hearing or not as it caught me off guard. Made same noise both on commute to work and back. Have you found anyone else with same issue, taken to dealer?

Hi mmatamoros,

I certainly understand why this would be concerning. I know that you are reaching out to fellow forum members on this, however, if you do end up working with your dealer please know that our team is just a PM away and we are more than happy to provide you with an additional layer of support for that process.

Anyone seeing this problem with the 2019 Power Wagon/Harman Kardon?

I posted on another thread about minor vibration issues as well as this periodic loud exhaust noise/rattling/vibration. I just found this thread today. I've been to the dealer twice and they haven't been able to do anything for me. I called the dealer where I bought the truck from today and they basically said if they can't duplicate the symptoms when it's there, that they can't do anything. I called another dealer where I used to get my EcoDiesel serviced and they haven't seen any trucks with this issue either. Both dealerships told me to bring it in when the loud noise is occurring. Of course this usually happens when I'm traveling between facilities for work and I can't just leave for the dealership when I'm working.

An interesting thing I found this week however (and this is how I came across this thread): I've recorded my truck with my phone when it is making the loud noise. Whenever I played it back it sounded unimpressive (not nearly as loud as it was in person). This past week I got the idea to play it through my truck's speakers. Lo and behold it sounded just as loud as it did when it happened live. This is how I figured out that the noise was coming through the speakers. I told the dealership this, and they didn't care. Also of note: When the loud noise is happening live, it will do so with the radio on or off, at any speed (seems more RPM related), in Neutral or in Park.

I saw the link about the bi-pass cable and think I will look into that. I hope my findings are able to help someone. This is really annoying. I love the truck other than these vibration and noise issues, but I am considering trading my truck and going to another brand. Ram Cares has contacted me here and I really appreciate it. The problem is, for them to open a case I have to take the truck to a dealership where they are clueless, which I find to be a waste of my time.
