Leather dash lifting away and crating bubbles, seats peeling

Same issue here in 2 places caught it early and installed ceramic all around and windshield.

I also make sure to always use my window visor in the warm weather months.

If it gets to bad I’ll end up doing some interior pieces in alcantara
If they weren’t covering mine I was going to go with an ultrasuede to match my headliner too

I love how mechanics want to charge you book price for easy jobs they do quicker, and harder more annoying jobs they ignore the book rate and go crazy high. Gota love the car repair industry. The only thing the "service advisors" advise is how to separate you from your money.
Confirming your statement: At an undisclosed luxury car dealership, my friends 23 yr old son was a succeseful car salesman... and was promptly promoted to 'Lead Service Advisor' with the goal to increase repair revenue. His tactic is to gain trust by saving money on first repair or two, then the customer approves all recommended repairs.

Although private shops can be guilty, I believe small shops rely on reputation. I've had better luck with independent shops....

Good luck to all...

Mine is starting to pull up around the gauge cluster it’s like the leather is shrinking or something.

Yeah definitely what happened. My dash has been replaced twice. One time for the bubbling just a few weeks back.
Got any advice on getting the dealership to do it? I'm having the same problem.

Ram cares helped. One thing I had on my side is that the bubble I had developed while my truck sat at the dealership for weeks while it was supposed to get worked on. I garage my truck at home, have my windshield tinted and have a covercraft windshield cover that I use. They didn’t put it up while it was at the dealer of course.

I have RAM 2500 with 15K miles and exactly 3 year old this month. I just saw a bubble pop up on my dash last week. Is there a way to ask Ram to cover it? This is an expensive truck and I am seeing many have experienced this issue .
I’m 3 years out of warranty and ram care agreed to cover 2400 of the 4400 repair. If you’re that close to your warranty, get to the dealership NOW and address it. Then call Ram Care and demand it if the dealer says no.

As I already mentioned, it sounds like you're getting the shaft on that. My local dealership quoted us right around $2000 for the repair. $4400 is not what it costs.

Same issue here. 2019 1500 Limited. Dash replaced once under factory warranty. Replacement bubbled within a couple of years. Service Advisor said labor/parts were covered for 2 years, so I brought it back. Said they're replace it again, but it was such a common problem that replacements were on back-order. Fast forward a year of waiting and I stop in for the Nth time to get a status and surprise, the service advisor no longer works there and there's no record of a replacement order or history of any of my inquiries. Service manager says since they have no "proof" and I'm out of warranty they won't replace it, and to call corporate. Called corporate and they say it's a dealer issue. Bunch of crooks and liars. Will go to a local upholsterer instead to get it done right (and cheaper).

Found 2 small spots on my dash where the de-lamination started. Girlfriend took it on to dealer, they couldn't see it. I took it in and they agreed it was defective. Was asked to bring it back after they told me to take it to where i bought it from. It was bought used in 2022 and it's a 2021. After fighting that I was under factory warranty they agreed to repair it. Was told dash was ordered and on back order in November 2023, called in December and still on back order. Called again in March and the part number had updated so it was never re ordered. Called again in May and the service advisor was fired and got the same story that there was no record of him ordering parts. At this point I was now out of warranty. Got with Ram Cares and they paid for the work to be done. Just got the truck back Saturday and I'm pleased with the new dash.

I have a 2020 limited that I recently noticed this happening to as well. I am going to see what the dealer in my area says but I also am going to an upholstery shop tomorrow for a quote. Will let everyone know the outcome

Keep us updated if you would. I just bought a 2020 Limited from Carmax in Savannah, Ga. and the purchase process was an utter nightmare itself that I could write a book about. So buying a used (39k miles) truck from them doesn’t give me a ton of confidence they they’d honor under the 3k mi/90 day warranty

Thankfully for now it’s just that dash section on the drivers side directly above the gauges. So worst case, perhaps an upholstery shop wouldn’t take me to the cleaner. Still sucks a month after dropping $46k. Im missing my 2020 Big Horn that some young girl on her phone totaled out already. It had every feature I wanted without all the trim crap I dont really care about

I have a 2019 Ram 1500 Limited and I recently starting noticing my leather is pulling away from the dash and in a matter of a month it's become pretty significant. I always use a window shade on the windshield. It's also starting t crack/peel near above the upper tray where they power outlet is. Has anyone else had any issues like this? I'm going t take to a dealer to have them look at it. I'm hoping they will take one look at it and just honor it as a defect under the warranty. Just wondering if anyone has had this issue and if should expect a hard time about getting it resolved.

I also have a separate issue where the leather seats are peeling on the sides, my assumption is they will say that s normal wear and tear, which I think would be ridiculous considering the truck is only 22 months old. The interior materials just don't seem to be the quality that it should be.

I had mine replaced on my 2020 2500. I always use shade due to high heat out here in Texas. Looks like it may be a manufacture issues because I always use leather conditioner on mine to keep leather moist and it still happened. Hopefully Ram will find a permanent fix for future models.

Permanent fix is to go with vinyl over leather, retrimmed at an upholstery shop. A new factory leather dash will only shrink over time, if premium and exotic cars can't stop that, I don't think Stellantis can either.

Your best bet if leather is a high UV deflection front tint and always use a windshield sun cover whenever out in the sun or sitting in a parking lot.

I had my dash replaced under warranty a few weeks ago. The material they used is nothing like the fine grade of leather that came from factory. It still looks good but it feels more like leather look vinyl which I’m okay with if it holds up.

I have same issue on my 2019 limited unfortunately. Messaged @RamCares for assistance using my Maxcare warranty. Leather dashes don't just peel away without a defect. I anticipate dealer won't want to honor so hoping Ramcares steps up.
