Key Left Vehicle Feature (Three Horn Chirp)

How do you feel about it?

They are crazy now. I got out after witnessing an accident to talk to the cops. I left it running while I talked to them with the door open. After 5 or 10 minutes, the truck shut off, and locked the parking brake. I got back in and restarted the truck. Parking brake would not release. I kept trying every thing to get it to release. No luck. I had to shut the truck off, take seat belt off, open and close the door, reinstall seat belt, and restart the engine before it would move.
Modern technology don't you just love it ?

The rest doesn't bother me, except having door closed and belt on to move. I put Mothers ceramic on today, and had to back up a couple feet to do front, then back up after. Pain in the a$$ to move 5 feet.

OTA Update to add "Enable / Disable" functionality for this please RAM (Stellantis)!
Just bury it in the menus if it's somehow viewed as a vital "safety feature" and those who wish to disable can do so.
** Note: I sold my 2019 F-150 Platinum largely because of this feature (not exaggerating). But, then, found out it could be disabled in Forscan software on Fords.

Thanks in advance for actually listening to the customer here.

This was driving me crazy so when I installed my Switch Pro SP9100 recently I added a relay to disable the 3 honk, connected the relay to one of the Switch Pro buttons, and configured the button to utilize the spare trigger wire on the Switch Pro so when the door is opened and the lights come on it enables the button which enables the relay in turn disabling the honk until the light goes out and since there is a delay with the interior lights dimming after the door is shut the button stays enabled long enough to keep it from honking. When the button is not on then the horn works as normal so you can get the lock notifications or honk at those distracted drivers. I will say if it wasn't for the fact I was installing the Switch Pro already this setup would not be smart as it is not a cheap add but if you don't want the automation then a relay with a single switch is a pretty cheap route and personally a better option then purchasing a Tazer that has to be connected all the time.

It's literally something I think about at 4 AM and then Google ways to disable it.

I hate it.

And Tazer sounds like a disaster. After reading through the posts on that causing all kinds of weird stuff, I'm gonna pass. All I want is the 3 honks disabled.

I won't try to talk you into a Tazer - that's not my place - but I will say I have had zero issues with mine in over a year. Honestly, I forget it is there until someone mentions wishing they had "X" option, and then I remember why I installed it in the first place. Kill3honks is one of those.

Hey everyone,

We'd love to get your opinion on how you feel about the Key Left Vehicle Feature otherwise known as the Three Horn Chirp, or the horn that sounds when you've left your Key Fob inside of your truck or when your truck is left running without the Key Fob inside.
While we're discussing opinions, why cant the driver select to default ride heights on the air suspension to whatever level they wish, and why can't we turn of AERO??

I love the Tazer and it works great but my truck is a 2021 and 2022 and newer seem to have trouble with the tazer

I would love to default the ride height too, including automatically dropping it to exit height when put it in park. But only if I can select that function. On my 24 you can select if you want Aero or not but that may be fine with the 25?

Nice color.

That's what worries me. All I want is the kill horn, but I haven't checked to see what version my '22 is using yet. It's on the list of things to check lol. Reports that I saw were that certain firmwares didn't have any issues with kill horn but seeing some of the other random reports about other lights going wonky make me skeptical. I think it was mostly due to other settings and firmware but I haven't seen any reports on newer threads.

Right now it's seeming like the most practical option for me (cost aside). Honestly wasn't expecting this to even exist but it has on my couple previous FORD's. The only difference was Forscan could disable it.
