Installing a Mopar Trailer Brake Controller in a 2025 RAM 1500

Quick follow up on this as I asked the dealership to install the module and the switch. They did, and I was told the harness does not have the required wires. So, I had to order the whole kit (side note it sounds like I'll have an extra switch and TBC module available if anyone is interested). Also, since the harness/module isn't set up correctly the Odometer is flashing and I may get an ABS light which will be fun until the kit comes in. Wanted to put this out there in case anyone needs the info. I do have the 68601443AA, but again, apparently does not have the correct wiring.
3 questions:
Are you sure of the wiring part number?

Do you have the 12” screen?

Where are they saying the 2 connectors don’t exist, behind the head unit or under the steering wheel?

I do have the 12". I gave my VIN to the parts desk over the phone and he confirmed that the kit # is correct (12" screen, etc) for my vehicle. I am sure I have the wiring # 68601443AA. Picture sucks sorry but #s are there. I have a pic of it on my phone. I asked the service rep for clarification on the missing wiring. He said it is the wiring under the back seat that actually plugs into the module. It is different. The switch wiring in the dash was all there and is hooked up.

Said they did flash the new code (XHC or something?) but could not complete the process (don't quote me here, there's something they do to complete the process I'm sure y'all know better than me) because obviously the system isn't talking to itself correctly without the wiring.

The wiring is there, they can update the sales code(they say they did). The flashing odometer, means they didn't perform a proxy alignment(this is where the vehicle learns a new module).

If you can unplug that module behind the seat and take a picture of the connector, so we can see the female pins. I had checked 4 or 5 trucks that did not have trailer brakes installed and everyone had the wiring with that harness number.

This! The proxy alignment lots of people are saying their dealership didn’t know about it. But if you can, get the picture also

Service guy said they could not do the proxy because it wouldn’t allow them to without the correct wiring or whatever. I don’t have the truck as I left it there for them to complete the job when the kit comes in next week.

I wish I had a way to confirm they’d done everything they said they did but unfortunately it’s where I’m at right now.

They are full of ****. The module would still proxy align without the wires. The original will align ans communicate.

I attached a picture of the connector and what wires need to be added. Unplug that connector and check.

That is a picture @Jimmy07 provided in a different post.

I can try when I go drop the kit at the dealer when it arrives. You said it’s reachable without taking the seat out? I can see the view you show in the pic from Jimmy07 (see my pic) but obviously can’t determine from that angle which wire is which without getting in there and unplugging right?

Yes, you would need to unplug it. The red tab slides and then the lever unlatches the connector

At what point in time do you just take your truck and parts home and do or finish the install yourself? Seems like the dealer service department you’re using is inadequate in this situation. You’re getting enough information here including from a tech that you should have enough confidence to finish it yourself and stop the back and forth w/ the service dept.

Maybe, but he can’t do the proxy alignment at home.

That you have done there either before or after (whatever either Jimmy or Cbty recommends)

Service writers aren’t always the most knowledgeable when it comes to these type of things and miscommunication is very easy, talk to the tech doing the work directly.
