If you've had the rear window leak...

This. I had one crack last month. Have a second one I noticed during the repair.

Here's what I used to seal the window:
3M Controlled-Flow Seam Sealer, 08329
You'll need this: Innovations 200 ml (1:1 and 2:1) 26:1 High Thrust Dual Component Cartridge Gun.
Highly recommend this tape: 3M Automotive Refinish Masking Tape, 06654

One cartridge of seam sealer. Spend a lot of time on your tape. Work fast.

I really just did the revised XL1 TSB myself since Ram wasn't going to.

I stay clear of car washes and only wash my rig myself. Don't want to invite trouble.
I jumped over to the Silverado web community and by God, folks there are also (as previously noted) experiencing a similar problem. I guess this makes me feel better....about me😅

It would be helpful to understand exactly why these leaks are happening.
Automated car washes blasting water? Inferior designs for glass fitting the cab? Rear brakelight Inferior design/fit?

My leak may not be as bad as others, but I notice mine to leak only with real heavy rain, and the nose of the truck is pointed downward, "not facing uphill", Or when i wash it, the pressure from the hose gets it to leak when i wash the back window down.
When i was at the dealer not long ago, a tech told me that the frame around the top side of the window can or "will" crack either on one side, or both sides of the track, and normally you can see the split in the area of the auto back window part of the track. I do not see a split on my track above the window, but it leaks. He said they were covering those but only to a certain milage.

So, where exactly do I need to look for the cracks in the slider? Inside, outside, just the slider itself or glass also? I'm getting a little drip on the top of my rear seat. Possibly brake light leaking.

See the black roof strips on either side? There can be leaks there too. Pop them up and apply permatex underneath. Go across the whole back glass and down the sides. Also did the around shark fin and the CHMSL.

I fixed mine using Permatex 81730 Windshield & Glass Sealant. I Purchased 3 tubes (1.5 oz) and 4 would have been better. I filled that cavity full to the top of window glass completely across the rear of the window and several inches down the sides. A fourth tube would have got me farther down the sides but it worked. The only thing I did do differently from the tape pic, is I moved the tape on the paint up slightly farther to make it easier to get into the gap and let the silicone flow. Worked Great.

I did Not do or remove the fin or center light. Mine is a 2022.

I should also mention, obviously would have to redo the CHMSL with permatex if it needs to be removed. However, I have changed the bulbs to LED so I doubt I’ll need to for awhile.

If you don’t to go this route get some marine weather stripping and make your own seal

I’ve been doing way too much reading about this and looking at the potential fixes:
1.) Resealing the rear window DIY style
2.) Swapping to a sold back glass
3.) Reason I’m posting here…

After way too much searching I found a thread on a RAM FB group where a guy in Southern California went to a big glass shop and got what he described as a “Ford one-piece back window” that fit perfectly and even the power slider worked. *See screen shots below pulled from the post.
After bugging the guy he helped me track down the install shop, who I then called—apparently they ARE a one-piece Ford design for DT RAMs, but they AREN'T OEM, they’re from China. The shop owner said they’re great quality and he’s never had one leak after install. I believe cost of the rear window and a warrantied install is around $400-$500. Anyone ever seen this before? Does this look any different than what we have? I'll see if I can track down more detailed photos. I’d love to know more about the brand he’s using and see one up close, both installed and out of the truck.

Yeah that's definitely not an OEM Ram part. Ford isn't without issues as far as rear sliders go. This would be more for people who live in colder climates and have the rear defroster. I'm a member in an F150 forum since I own a 2014 F150. In that forum there are lots of people who have had the rear sliding window shatter when they turned on the rear defroster. It was apparently enough of a concern that the previous owner of my truck unplugged the defroster. I'm not desperate enough to plug it in and see if it even works or not. I don't need a rear defroster enough to risk having the window shatter. I haven't looked through the newer generation forums enough to know if it's still an issue. It's probably not something that affects these windows since they're not an OEM Ford part, but I just though I'd mention it.
