If you've had the rear window leak...

Can you not just run a bead of silicon or butyl around the RF modules case and waterproof it better yourself? Assuming that case is what holds it.

Eleven days now, waiting on any word from Ram, they have not contacted the dealer, and every time I go onto RamCare chat, I get a load of empty promises of the level one person going to escalate to case manager and supervisor, but still no contact. I have been told now by level 1 advocate it is covered, one day, (Printed chat session), next day, told it is still open and being considered, and I will be called same day, or next day, and again nothing. Can't find any email addresses for anyone at ram cares to escalate this to. Looking for ideas. Thanks

The 3 year 36k warranty should cover that.
The rear window FRAME is broken, the rear window FRAME is leaking, not the glass, a big difference when it comes to warranty coverage.
Dealer say NO, and to contact Ram. Found Extended Warranty TSB for Frame, Mine was build 8 months after last date listed in TSB :(

Is your truck not under the 3 year 36k bumper to bumper warranty?
RAM warrantied my rear window leak caused by a cracked frame at 25948 miles on 1/6/2020, delivery date on the truck was 8/17/2018.
edit: I would go to a different dealer and not even mention the TSB.

My prior 2019 bighorn I found had a rear window leak after I purchased my lease out (I'm confident have been doing it for quite a while but I never realized it at the time) I ended up trading it in shortly after. Now my 2022 Laramie also has a rear window leak and I'm still under my 3/36 warranty. Silly me I took it in for a repair thinking that it would be covered by my bumper to bumper. Dealer inspected informed me that they did find the leak and that thet had to order the window but unfortunately it is not covered under warranty and is only covered by the one year 12,000 mi and to replace it I could pay $1,700 out of pocket has not covered by my bumper to bumper and considered a customer caused issue due to the track being dirty. Mind you my frame is not cracked on the inside where the tech showed me they typically are and it appears the window is separating from its seal because when he pushed on the window outward water began to drip in. Also spoke to my salesman who had told me that his also had to be replaced previously and he was rather shocked that it wasn't covered.

Dealer service dept was no help at all other than giving me a phone number at corp to call. Sure would love to see the numbers on how many people have actually had this problem that they know of, not including those that probably don't have a clue etc. How there isn't a recall or a class action at some point if not at this point?

My current lease is up in about two and a half months.... At this point there's no way I get another one. I realize all car companies suck to at least some point but this is pretty offensive

Tried chatting with the Ramcares folks on this forum to see if they were any help. They basically said sorry about your luck.

Maybe they could do this instead of replacing the backglass. Maybe a cheaper route. This is what they are doing to mine since this supersedes the previous back glass replacements.
I actually asked the dealer about that when I was there getting service. I knew there was a service bulletin for the previous years and the tech who showed me where the leal was coming from had mentioned it is well where they would spray or put a bead of sealant to correct it. When I asked the service advisor as well as the supervisor I was told it did not apply to my truck and they would not do it.

Just do it your self, about 18 bucks worth of permatex flow-able sealant and painters blue masking tape. IIRC.
edit: takes two tubes.

Yeah I plan to just sucks I had to find this in January. Going to be like -6 here tonight. Guess I'll be swapping towels for a while

So here's a question... My lease is up in March now that I've taken this in and declined service if I turn my lease in do they check anything to see if you didn't repair a known issue etc?

I doubt very much they ll find it on the turn in inspection, Also don t think they ll be checking service records. just not the norm at lease Turn ins. Unless there something visible they can see on an inspection, like wet carpets. Even that s a long shot IMO.

Good so far.
After thorough washing and drying of the space, I applied the RTV all the way across and half way down the sides for a good measure.
Thanks. Dealership should have the adhesive and third brake light this week and I have my follow up next Tuesday. Anything I can do to help prevent water intrusion until then?
