How to: Add Adaptive Cruise Control, Lane assist, FCW & Auto Hi-beam to Ram 1500

I can now confirm that a used DASM can be used for this project. I successfully calibrated 2 used ones in my truck this weekend.
When you have the dealership do the calibration, tell the tech to perform the following on the DASM:
1) Perform the enter plant mode routine
2) Clear all DTCs. This will get rid of the vehicle configuration mismatch, and allow the calibration to be run.




Then they can run the calibration like they normally would:

I’m not aware of any other device that can run the calibration on a virgin DASM, or a used one installed in another vehicle.
The version of CDA6 that I have won’t even do it.
The ADAS program that safelite uses can’t do it either.
The developers of AlfaOBD and Jscan can’t get it to work, probably because they use CDA6 to pull all the functions onto their apps.

I worded my question wrong, sorry. I meant to ask - so in witech 2.0, "DASM Auto Alignment" you just follow the on screen and it aligns/calibrates itself? no special laser targets or measurement devices needed outside the vehicle?

Oh, gotcha. The only thing you need to do is make sure the DASM is at about -1° from vertical when putting a digital level on the back of the cooling fins.

No, the rain sensor is completely independent of this. There are two types of auto high beam.

I found a used ABS/HCU from a 2022 Ram with ACC. Mine which was not ACC ready was 68535468AB.
The correct one was:
ABS Module: 68535469AB Adaptive Cruise Control w/Stop and Go with the matching HCU and got it installed today and programmed.
I put this out here because when I was searching for what was on my truck I could not find anything on it at any of the Mopar parts sites. To new to be listed? So maybe this will help somone else.

Also I ran into one issue when initializing the ABS Module I was working in the driveway and it was 40 deg F outside and it failed saying it needed to be minimum 50 deg F. So it put it in the garage and warmed it up for a bit then was able to complete the steps with ALPHA OBD.

Interesting. Tried to search this part number on Google, only ebay shows few results for the used units. Tried to check with Mopar wholesalers, non of them shows any result for 68535469AB.

Agreed. It said it was from a 2022 with Acc and mine was 1 digit off so I rolled the dice. Also to add it was the HCU that needed the temperature above 50 deg F to perform the initialization.

Hey all…Let me start off by saying I love this forum. It has helped me decide on buying a Ram, as well as provide countless mods to my baby. All the effort you guys put in “figuring it all out” is well appreciated.

Now - This thread has guided me in adding everything being discussed here except ACC. (Got the parts, just waiting on some warmer weather) I consider myself pretty knowledgeable and mechanically inclined around vehicles, as well as being very comfortable working on my own. The info gained here has been great, but I do feel like their can be more effort made in making these “How to’s” a little more easier to understand.

One Mod I recently completed, yesterday as a matter of fact is semi-automatic parking. Getting the parts were pretty simple, save for two items that were backordered. The difficult part (for me at least) was figuring out where the new sensors go. As well as attaching the molex for the Passive Entry Antenna. Using a lift probably would make quick work of this mod. Being that I don’t have one I just left the truck on the floor and took all of my 210 pounds underneath it.

I’ll attach some pictures to give an idea where the new sensors should go and how to access the front sensors, as well the location of the park assist module. The molex that goes to the passive entry antenna (if applicable) is extremely difficult to get to w/o a lift. The PE antenna is held in place by two screws. I removed my back license plate and used a step-down drill bit to carefully drill two holes where the screws are located. Only then was I able to attach the only molex I had left on the new wiring harness. The wiring harness is pretty straightforward install as well. Make sure you have a tool to remove the plastic fasteners as they are a PIA to remove and just follow the path of the old harness. Removing old, and installing new as you go. The new valances are easy to remove as well. The screws in the left/right corners are the hardest to remove/install because it’s tight in there, but definitely doable. That’s all my tips and advice. I hope I added some type of worth while contribution to the make Semi-Automatic parking mod that much more easy to understand and implement.

BTW I have a 21 Laramie sport w/ front and back parksense and blind spot pedestrian monitoring from factory. Part # for the two new sensors in the front is 5YV69TZZAA and the rear sensors part # is 6MK25TZZAA.

Great news. Should help keep costs down for those without a DASM from the factory. I'll add this information to the front of the thread.

I’m going to try everything with JScan but the instructions are with AlfaOBD if anyone did it with JScan please let me know how you did it just waiting for all the parts to come in. Have DASM adding Park Assist, Lane Assist, ACC (this is the man one I’m worried about with JScan). Then hopefully on to Comma3. Fingers crossed I’ll keep everyone updated and give instructions if I get it to work with JScan. If not I’ll set up for AlfaOBD.

That setting is only if you have the DASM for FCW and adaptive cruise. You are using the mirror with camera for high beams, so try ecc_AHBM for that setting.

I have a ‘22 Bighorn Lvl 1 (no FCW). By adding the correct harness and auto dimming mirror with camera, do you think I can enable auto high beams?

Yes, there is no reason it should not work if you add the correct parts.

So, if anyone is interested just buy a cheap open box Samsung tablet from eBay (I got mine for $50 brand new it was like $200-$300) and get Alfa if you are doing these because you cannot complete everything to get it completely working. On JScan you can turn on radio setting on the touchscreen but you cannot actually enable the hard buttons for Park Assist and Lane Assist. When it comes to ACC you CANNOT do it with JScan.
