I'm not sure what you are asking as there is no such thing for the surround view cameras. This isn't the thread to discuss that. What about installing thermal camera ?
What do you think?
It's the same. You may need to enable everything again. Make a backup and restore it.Any idea how these mods will be affected if the dealer does any software upgrades/recalls? I installed the Ram bed lights and had to re-enable them in Alpha, after a dealer visit for an update. I have the ESC recall pending, curious if it'll mess up my changes.
Finish the installation first and calibrate. You will have surround cameras on the left and rear view on the right. And no, you can't change that.So i am half way through the process.
I have all the hardware installed except the front cam.
I have not tried to calibrate yet.
When i shift into reverse, i get the surround view screen and i can switch to back up cam from that screen.
Can i swap that around and make the back up cam default when shifting into reverse?
I really only want the surround view when i’m in tight drive through lanes
or when i’m unsure if there is anything (shopping carts) in front of the truck.
I am having regrets…Finish the installation first and calibrate. You will have surround cameras on the left and rear view on the right. And no, you can't change that.
Thank you. Restoring from the backup won't override the dealers changes? It's the same. You may need to enable everything again. Make a backup and restore it.
No, it shouldn't. They probably just did an update which resets the settings back to factory. If you are worried, just redo the AlfaODB changes.Thank you. Restoring from the backup won't override the dealers changes?
Depends when you made the backup file.Thank you. Restoring from the backup won't override the dealers changes?
Thank you! I never did the original backup , so I'll just have the one with my changes.Depends when you made the backup file.
The only way your alfaobd changes can be reverted at the dealer is if they perform the “restore vehicle configuration” function. There is really no reason for them to do this unless they are replacing the BCM. This procedure is exactly the same as when you perform the restore from backup file in alfaobd- it quickly writes every single setting to the BCM the way it is in the backup file. You should have an original backup file, and you should have a backup file of what all your current settings are after all your alfaobd changes. That way, if they ever restore your original vehicle configuration, you can just quickly restore your most recent alfaobd configuration without having to manually change all your settings again.
You should do all the cameras at once. The windows version seems to be better at it. But you can do it with the Android version. It can take several tries. Plus, make sure you are in a place that has lots of detail that the camera can see. Some people have had great success in an empty parking lot driving down the rows but not over the lines.Has anyone that got the calibration to work using an Android version got any tips, I have no issues with seeing cameras and can start the front camera and it says success.
Then the menu just sits there with the start and stop buttons. Do i need to clear vaults and reconnect to move onto the left. I watched infotainment do it and they used windows laptop for calibration and they mentioned clearing faults between cameras and punching in a code 8502, then disconnecting and connecting.
Doesnt seem to be any good instructions on this.

Calibration is one of the most frustrating parts of it. For some, it goes without issue. Then for others like you, it's a long process. Glad you got it done.I now feal the relief of some of you i finally did it, its calibrated. Never so excited to see a truck with a display around it.
This time i decided to run through all cameras and not do the clear faults and disconect after each camera and it worked.
If you are yet to calibrate i would recommend you get very relaxed because at one point i was about to drive into river and end my truck.
Is there any special way to get that boot off to run camera cable? Or do you just pull it off?For those who are going to do this take some xanax before dealing with these door cables they were very frustrating to get cables through and then getting back to normal. I suggest do one and then take a week off before doing the other View attachment 185979
