Has anyone tried 305 45 22" Tires on their stock 22" rims?

How are these working out? Any rubbing or wear issues? I got a 2020 1500 limited in october and they are willing to warranty the tires, but say I have to purchase Goodyear replacements.
I haven't measured the depth but they appear to show little wear. I've put about 7,000 miles on them. I'm happy with them. I fully expect they will last the rest of my ownership. A 2022 F150 Platinum hybrid Ecoboost is next.

Thanks for the feedback! Makes me feel a little more comfortable going with Goodyears again.
I may be following suit on the f150 once they put a V8 in higher trims and get the self driving platform going.

I would love to go with the 305 but I have not found a tire that says it will fit on a 9” rim. They all say 9.5 on the manufacture’s website. I do tow and want to be safe (happens when you get older). All other sizes are LT which are heavy. Not sure what to do. I like the 22” wheels just wish there were more options.

I ended up getting 305/45r22 fortera sl tires for free through Goodyear warranty. They rub slightly on the plastic wheel well, and I will need to use a heat gun to avoid cutting anything. I wouldn’t be worried about the rim size, as your main concern should be load and speed rating. You’re going to be limited to a few tires in the 305’s if you want to keep the speed rating H, and you should be getting a higher load rating than the 114 on the factory tires. That is most important for towing and payload.

Also, the fortera in 305s are actually 3 lbs lighter than the stock eagle touring 285s, so that should help fuel economy a bit. Main issue is updating the speedometer. Just bought the flashcal and will update on how that process goes.

I thought I had read that it updates the speedometer automatically within time. Not sure if that was true or not.

Just ordered a set of Hankook AT2s in a 305/45r22. They were $239 vs $340 for the Toyo AT3s. I like the look of the Toyo better but did not want to spend the extra $400.

I have driven a few hundred miles and it has not updated. If you use Waze and plug it into CarPlay, it reads the same as the trucks speedo, but if you unplug it, it’s off by 2 mph. Not a big deal but flashcal is like $250 to make it perfect for shift points, and can be upgraded to flashpaq if I decide to tune it down the road.

Has anyone tried these yet?

Thinking of these when the Nitto's are completely shot. My fronts are already at 3/16" and the rears at 5/16" after 17,000 miles... Nittos aren't getting very good wear for me.

Was going to purchase those tires for my replacement, but Goodyear warranty was only for a Goodyear swap. Definitely the best reviews I read for 305s with the H speed rating. I say go for it!

I run these. No complaints. Have 30k miles on them and still plenty grip life.

I am having the same tires mounted today. What do you think of yours. I was in the same boat as you. I didn't want to spend the toyo money on tires. I considered the nexen but went with Hankook. The Hankook are much lighter than the Toyo's also.

I have 22” standard premium wheels on my Limited installed Nitto Ridge Grabbers 305 45 / 22” the circumference is 32.8”. They rub just slightly on full turn on the inside but barely . The tires fit inside the wheel wells . I need to check if I lift beyond entry if it still rubs. I only have 74 miles so I’ll have to check.
Any further feedback on the rubbing? Assuming no lift? Factory settings?

l installed these about a year ago and love them .. quiet and has a slightly agressive look ... $760 for 4 installed... mounted and balanced ... Nexen Roadian AT Pro

I installed hankook dynapro at2. no rubbing. there was a small piece of plastic in the wheel well i pinned back with a zip tie. Doesn't run in any setting.

I just installed General Grabber's UHP -- they look fantastic and are quiet and comfortable. No rubbing with the 305/45/22s even on entry/exit air suspension setting.

Where’d you get em from?

thanks for posting this thread, ended up with the General UHP (good cheap tire). Had them on my '10 Ram R/T that I absolutely punished with over 30 drag passes, heating them up and still managed to get 40k miles out of them. Not a dramatic change but just View attachment 61538View attachment 61542View attachment 61543View attachment 61540looking for a good rain tire for this 3 season tow/people mover. A few pics for the next guy looking at 305s on stock rims.
Super nice! I was wondering if the Grabber UHP is really that much larger taller than the stock or is it just the angle in the first photo? I used a tire calculator and got that this tire is 32.8'' vs 32.1'' on the stock.
