Has anyone tried 305 45 22" Tires on their stock 22" rims?

Just ordered a set of Hankook AT2s in a 305/45r22. They were $239 vs $340 for the Toyo AT3s. I like the look of the Toyo better but did not want to spend the extra $400.

Hello have you tried towing with 305/45r22. I also tow a rv trailer at least once a month sometimes more.

I tow with these all the time and they are just about the same as the 285's are for how planted it feels. The half inch of extra sidewall is a little bit smoother ride and more curb rash protection as a bonus.

Thanks definitely will be upgrading. You get any rubbing while towing?

Just picked up my '21 Limited/Night Edition. Keeping the stock 22" rims, not going to add a level kit. My shop tells me to stay with the 285/50/22...that if I go 285/55/22 or 305/45/22 it will rub.

Mine rubbed a little on the driver's side, but all you have to do is pull back the liner and little and tie it. Very easy and the extra width looks so much better than the "too small" 285s. They fit the wheel well so much better!

This thread is great, thanks guys. I plan on putting on a Vossen 22x9.5 wheel but wanted to stick with a street/sport truck look. I will be going with a 305/45 tire , most likely the Goodyear Forteras

I put on a set of 305/45/22 Hankook Dynapro AT2's (NOT the ATM's) and they seem to be pretty good so far. I haven't gotten the chance to use them in our nice MN winter yet obviously but we will see how they go! Also, I paid about $800 less than the equivalent size Ridge Grapplers......just FYI.
Hello
I was leaning towards the Hankook Dynapro AT2. I was just curious do you have a leveling kit?

Hello,
Does anyone have stock splash guards with the 305/45/22 Tires. I am thinking of upgrading to 305/45/22 AT but a little concern about my stock splash guards.

Yep I've got stock splash guards on my 305/45/22 Ridge Grapplers. Had to trim a piece of the inside on the front to avoid rubbing, but otherwise no issues. Tow with them all the time too.

Thank you so much...

I apologize if i am bugging. Just one more question, do you have any leveling kits added?

I did a search and couldn't find anyone that has done these tires with stock height, Air Ride, and 22". Everyone has either the 20" wheels, a lift, a level, etc.... However after using the tire size calculator at a different website compared to the 33 12.5 22" Tires that another person put on that rub slightly I am going to try these 305 45 22" tires as they are .5 inch slimmer and .2 inch shorter than the tires that rub slightly at full lock.
I just bought a 2022 limited 1500. It came with the 20’s. I swapped them out for the factory 22’s and I put 305x45x22 recon grapplers on them. They fit perfectly with no rubbing or trimming required. I did. It add any leveling kit. I am still running the stock height. I heard they may rub but I was pumped when I got them on and they did not

Is your truck leveled in the pic?

How're you liking the Recon Grapplers?

Hello folks, long time lurker, first time poster

I have a 2020 limited and it's finally time to replace the tires. based on hours of reading the mountain of information on this site i believe i have settled on a set of Hankook Dynapro AT2 xtreme sized 305/45/22. My only concern and a question i haven't been able to find, what about articulation rub? i have every intention of airing down for the beach and have been in situations where a wheel will tuck up in the fenderwell with previous trucks i've owned. is this something i need to worry about with the air ride suspension?

I have a 2021 limited and it is close to needing new tire's. I am looking at Michelin LTX m/s 305x45x22 has anyone install these on a limited with any issues/rubbing. It has a higher load carrying 118

Mine rub on lower suspension setting. Normal day to day I never have an issue.

My 275/50/22 michelin's defenders are already getting slippery in the rain, so I am taking this chance to try a new size. I'll be ordering Toyo Open Country AT3's in 305/45/r22 tomorrow.
