Hard-wire Dash Cam Install

Would love to put a bed cam and front grill cam in my new 2023 Ram but just don't want to take my grill out to do ii...lol. No pain no gain I guess. Thought Sure when I ordered my Truck I had ordered the 360 cams but I did not by mistake. ):

Installed the Blackvue today thanks to this thread! I do have one remaining question though…In the Blackvue manual it calls out the hazard light fuse location to be used for the battery saver feature. Is there a specific reason for this exact fuse? I used locations F-33 & F-66 like this thread called out, but I want to be sure.

Big shout out to securityguy for helping me with my dash cam install. I thought it would be simple to install a Viofo A119 mini 2, but of course, I ran into issues. Turned out I had a bad camera. Replaced it with a new one and now everything is working perfectly. I really appreciate this forum and its members for the ideas and help!

I have my radar detector on my Blendmount and always install the dash cams directly to the glass. Blackvue is my #1 go to for dash cams. www.thedashcamstore.com

I wasn't interested in having my dashcam run 24/7. Only wanted it while driving. Have the Escort M1 dashcam, mounted on a BlendMount support. Used a MirrorTap for power, so the dashcam only operates when the power mirror does (ignition on, ACC on, etc.). Clean and efficient, with no wires hanging in my face. The Escort M1 is designed to work in conjunction with a radar detector, and I do not have a radar detector presently (usually drive conservatively) but may purchase one some time in the future. The additional wire coming out of the side of the dashcam (shown hanging loose in the second picture) is the factory supplied power source for the future detector. The power goes through the camera and into the detector. I just have the short detector power cord tied/tucked up out of the way for the time being.

They sell dongles for it, you just install it and it taps the power from the mirror and gives you an additional USB to use to connect your dashcam to.

I am using this topic again. I bought a new dashcam. Again from Viofo.
I had a few times with my previous one that the dashcam often restarts during driving. So I updated the firmware and such but it was still the case. it seemed better with unplugging my rear dashcam. But I was also wondering if it could be the fuse taps or connection?

Thanks to the topic I use F33 and F66 and used fuse taps so that I can place 2 in the spot of 1. I will now connect the cables better (as far as possible) and make sure to check the connection thoroughly.
But I was wondering if there are any other spare slots that can be used for battery and accessory fuses? So they have a slot on their own.

Thanks to this thread, I just completed install of my Fathers Day gift from my girls. A Rayfoto LS05D and hardwire kit.
Didnt want it on my windshield, instead mounted it to my clip on wide angle rear view mirror.
Ran the wires for the hard wire kit and rear view cam up through the mirror mount and head liner.
Again, this thread was very helpful in the install.
Routing the cables was super easy, plus having enough fuse taps made the install a breeze.
For the rear camera, I used a strip of ABS plastic, mounted the cam to that, then mounted that to the window frame with 3M tape, so it now sits below the frame.
Have watched videos of this Rayfoto cam, seems a decent dash cam. Havent taken it on the road yet, just ensured at this point of a clean, working install, and I can connect to it through the app on my Android and iPad.
Been wanting to get one for a while, so to get it for a gift, cool man! That makes it an awesome cam!
