Just a follow-up: my truck has the front brake squeal under light-medium braking from around 45mph up. 1st dealer replaced the front pads only at about 10k miles, but the squeal remained. They wouldn't do anything else with it, so I took it to a second dealer. The tech at the 2nd dealer couldn't replicate the noise, but he noticed some hot-spotting on the front rotors. So they ended up replacing the front rotors and calipers. So with essentially the entire front brake assembly replaced, the noise went away . . . for about 2 months. Now it's back!!!! This is ******* ridiculous!!!! It is so ******* embarrassing to be driving a $50,000 truck and the brakes squeal like some piece of **** clunker!!! Has anyone else experienced a recurrence after having the pads/rotors/calipers replaced? At this point I would pay out of pocket for some aftermarket parts to fix it, but nobody seems to make them yet.
LP - I have the same issue. I am still getting the squeal under light braking. They are saying its from the back now. Parts are on order. This seems to be a systemic issue. I hate to say it, but I have considered trading this thing in already and taking the hit. What is going to happen when this truck is out of warranty?

Just curious - Why would you consider for sure taking a hit now vs maybe taking a hit later?

I have the chewbacca sound issue. My parts are in for my truck just have to get the appt scheduled. My issue is intermittent, but mostly happens when the air is damp and mostly in reverse, but sometimes when moving forward after the truck has been sitting.

I have not been happy with my 2019 RAM either. Had it in 3-4 times for a door handle that would stick and sometimes not unlock at all which caused me to open it through the passenger side. that sucked. Well it doesn't lock me out now, but the handle sticks and feels like its gonna break after driving it a bit and opening the door. I have had the braking issue for at least 4- months but was told new brakes normally squeal, and I didn't want to spend more time off in the shop especially when there was no Star case or TSB. I was losing money. This is not normal. It is the worst in the morning backing out of my driveway like most have had on here. Its unacceptable...only problem, I have 13000 miles on it now so who knows what they can do for me. I'm seriously considering getting a chevy, gmc, or F150. I would have just thought they would have seen the brake issue in testing and to still release seems to be a bad look for them. The crazy part is how difficult it can be to re-create the problems. My door handle they couldn't recreate, this braking issue is very difficult to replicate unless they are at your house at 7am while you back out of driveway. I have another issues where im in Cruise control for a while and all of the sudden it feels like the tranny slips or misses or does something weird. But then it never happens again. I only see it happen when on longer trips over 100 miles. I just get this feeling that this truck is going to be in the shop a lot and I don't like that feeling. I will say this is probably the last RAM I own. I was warned but I guess I needed to learn the hard way. There are some really nice features on the truck, but there are quality control issues I am not happy with.

Just record a video of the brakes moaning. That's what I did and they replaced them under the TSB. Nice having quiet brakes now.

The way the TSB reads they don't have to duplicate it. All you have to do is tell them it groans in the morning when backing up.

Verbatim from the TSB:
DIAGNOSIS:
If the customer describes the symptom/condition listed above, perform the Repair Procedure.

I am still waiting for the parts for my rear brakes. I didn't have the backing up squealing problem, just a constant squeal when braking from 40 down to 20. They are going to replace the rotors and pads. Pad on backorder now. Been waiting 5 weeks for the pads.

I have been fighting with original dealership service on this backing up gawd aweful sound ever since I purchased this truck back in October. I finally scheduled another service call at another dealership for this Thursday. Thanks to this forum and posting of information, I took documents posted in here to them today. The service writer didn't even question me this time and ordered both the front and rear parts for squeaking brakes and the reverse mating call.

S1805000008 and TSB 05-001-19 were all I needed to show him. Also showed the different pictures of the pads and differences.

They are on back-order, but was at least relieved he didn't question me on the issues. He will let me know when the parts come in and schedule a final service (hopefully) on these issues.

Thanks all!

I had the chewbacca howl mostly apparent when backing up, but also sometimes pulling forward. It was mostly in more humid air. Got my truck back from the dealer on Saturday with the new parts and the rear brakes done. I have not heard the embarrassing howling yet, so appears to be fixed for me.

Still waiting on parts I'm assuming. Will follow up with dealership when I return from work trip. Once work has been done will update.

Will also have them look at wind noise rear passenger door (both back doors not aligned), have them repair sunroof drains (I fixed one but can't get passenger side in), and mirror whistle (mirrors hit window when retracted).

Wish me luck. Dealer supposed to pick my truck up today for rear brake work. My FCA customer care rep said all the required parts are at the dealer. (This is the 4th trip for rear brake noise)
I got a list of stuff that's supposed to be taken care of this time, seems like they always "Forget" to do something so this time I typed up a list and leaving it in the truck for them.
Maybe they just need a to-do list like my wife leaves me all the time. LOL

I took mine in for the pedal recall and the brake groan. I dropped it off the night before in a spot where they’d have to reverse out. They put tsb 05-001-19 and 05-002-19 on the paperwork. Can’t find what the 002 one is for...

COuld this also apply to backing up in reverse but only hearing a 'grinding' noise when cutting left/right.

Like when backing up into a parking space and having to cut the wheels hard. I get a grinding noise occasionally, regardless of weather. But I don't get any indications of brakes at all at any other time.

Someone else will chime in if they've had the issue you are describing, but my experience has been only after the truck has been sitting a while (Usually colder outside) or after the brakes have been wet and sit a while (Overnight). Turning has no affect on it (Rear brake only issue), just applying the brakes in reverse, make a horrible noise, like wake the neighbors noise. There is another TSB on the front brakes that has something to do with brake noise when braking from like 30 or 40 mph but I don't remember seeing anything about noise when cutting left/right.

Mine should be going in next week for the brake squeal and other things. I'll post back if they get it fixed.
Sending this video to Ram Cares since they asked about the issues. Mine also does the groaning when backing up, but I didn't get a clip of it. The squeal bothers me much more.

HI Deriggs007,
We can imagine why this would be concerning. Have you had a chance to inform you dealer that you are experiencing this? If not, we would happy to assist with that process once you get a chance to do so. Just send us a private message.
