I am a first time Ram owner and love the truck. I am just upset that a 50 plus truck would have paint issues this bad. I've owned this truck for a year now. 2020 ram sport and always had dealer detail my truck so I never really payed attention to it that closely until the other day. I decided to go ahead and give her a wash and wax. So while I was in process of waxing I noticed what looked like little dots that looked like tree sap. So I attempted to remove them with no luck. So I looked closer at it and it was the infamous fish eye under the clear coat. I was really mad cause I found a total of 19 of them all over truck. Took to dealer and body shop it will definitely need to be repainted. So you mean to tell me I purchase a brand new 50 thousand plus truck to get the whole truck repainted. No way Jose. Truck has 6000 miles on it. So I told dealer who is going to pay me the huge 5 to 6 thousand in value loss cause its no longer original from factory. I called an attorney and he advised me to let them repaint the truck cause it'll never be like factory original and it will take them longer than 30 days out of service to get it right to begin with. We will get you your money back or into another truck. So I'm furious at this point cause I'm about to let the dealer destroy my brand new truck. No customer should have to go through this crap. If it clearly is a factory defect take truck back and make customer happy and give another truck in its place. I am not losing all that money in devaluation. Any other advice would be helpful at this point.

I never buy anything without taking an extremely close look at every inch of a vehicle in the proper lighting. The is my 38th vehicle and I learned my lessons very early in life ;)

I'm late to this party, but wanted to share what I experienced. I picked my truck up in the evening, and despite walking around to make sure there wasn't any errant body panels or dents, the next day in the sunlight i noticed what looked like silver and black spray paint overspray isolated to the D/S front tire, wheel, wheel well, quarter panel, headlight. Dealer is 70 miles away, so I figured I may as well fix this on my own.

Being an avid fan of the amazing graffiti tags on trains, this was my first theory of how this spray ended up on the truck. Fixed it by visiting my local detailing supply to get a more aggressive clay bar. Took it right off. Just gotta wait till warmer weather to do a polish and coating.

Good call. That‘s exactly what I would have done. Dealer body shops often make things worse, much worse.

Chances are a body shop would wanted to repaint the painted surfaces.... I had a similar scenario to this. Long story short I work in construction paint over spray got on a lot of peoples vehicles including mine. Got it all off with mothers speed clay 2.0.

Clay bar is pure magic....I’ve used it on and off since I first started driving a car...even works well on glass too. The place around here sells their own brand of clay bar and it comes in a pck of 4 small bricks. So now I’m set for the season.

When I took delivery of my Limited I noticed scratches on the driver side RamBox lid. I pointed to them with the dealer person there to observe and had an appointment set up the next week for the dealer to fix it. I do wish they would have noticed before delivering the truck to me. I would prefer to put the first scratch on it myself doing something fun in the mud.

I have to question why you're so angry about this if it took you a year to see the problem? My truck is 2.5 months old and I found every fisheye within the 1st week. Yes, my truck has a few, not 19, but I knew about them immediately upon my 1st available inspection. If they aren't right in your face and easily seen, then they aren't really an issue to be concerned about. We all want perfection, but nobody offers that these days.

For those that might say I should've seen them at the dealer, I never saw my truck. I purchased it out of state and had it delivered to me. I was able to do a quick walk around and note any damages with the shipper, but fisheyes aren't a shipper's problem. The 3 spots I have are gonna stay put because the potential for more damage to remove them is always a possibility.

Sorry to hear. Why don't you post some pics here? Also, no need to yell (all caps). =)

Cheers,
