So the rental is paid by them except the taxes? Do I have that correct?
Correct. Pretty strange, actually, and this is the second RAM dealer that has done that. Taxes here are around $8.00 / day.

Weird. Better than paying for the rental, though. Do you happen to have State Farm? Apparently that’s why I’m given a rental instead of a loaner every time.

Nope, the two dealers I’ve been to don’t offer loaners, only rentals (I asked).

Cheers,

Recommend - Why/Why Not? : Took my truck here to replace the latch in the center console. A simple part order and replace. No communication whatsoever from the dealership on timeline of fix. My truck is the only vehicle I have and therefore my only means of travel, so after 4 days of it collecting dust I took it back and to my surprise, I found a lovely new scratch after 3 weeks of ownership. Please do yourself a favor and do not take your truck or car here, not even out of convenience. I would rather drive an hour out of my way to have the piece of mind that my truck is in good hands.

This is a little different, because I haven't taken my new Ram to any dealer yet. I have taken my last two Jeeps to several dealers in the area, which are also Ram dealers:

City/State: Beaverton, OR
Dealer Name: Northwest JCDR

Recommend - Yes/No: No
Recommend - Why/Why Not? : Criminals, stupid, or criminally stupid. Took a 2008 Jeep GC in for service around 100k miles. They told me it needed the spark plugs changed, which I expected, so I had them do it. Took it in for the next service maybe 7000 miles later, and they told me again it needed spark plugs. I asked if it was just due to mileage, and they told me it wasn't--they pulled the plugs and they needed to be replaced. They ended up changing them, but didn't even apologize for charging me the first time without doing the work.

City/State: Vancouver, WA
Dealer Name: **** Hannah

Recommend - Yes/No: No
Recommend - Why/Why Not? : No interest in fixing a wheel bearing on a Jeep with only 8k miles which I had purchased new at this dealer. Told me they would need me to leave it, and didn't expect to even look at it for 6 days. I took it elsewhere instead (Newberg, below), and was back on the road the next day.

City/State: Wilsonville, OR
Dealer Name: Wilsonville CJDR

Recommend - Yes/No: No
Recommend - Why/Why Not? : Don't recall the specifics, but they were very pushy about upselling absolutely anything they could, and the quality of the work they did do wasn't great.

City/State: Newberg, OR
Dealer Name: Newberg DJRC

Recommend - Yes/No: Yes
Recommend - Why/Why Not? : This has been my dealer of choice for the last 6 years, after problems with the others. These guys do a consistently great job, and charge reasonable prices.

City/State: Idaho Falls, ID
Dealer Name: Ron Sayer CDJR

Recommend - Yes/No: Yes
Recommend - Why/Why Not? : Not local, but I dealt with them when my Jeep's water pump failed while driving through Idaho on vacation. The water pump was on national backorder at the time, but these guys bent over backwards to track down and get the part overnighted from another dealer in Utah, and got me back on the road as quickly as possible.

Recommend - Why/Why Not? : Went in for free oil change. Looked like oil exploded all over engine compartment. Oil leaked from front skid plate for 2 weeks afterwards and the cherry on top was that the moron who did it got and left grease on top of my stitched leather console. Just a rather poor experience overall. Oh, and their waiting room feels like 1982.

Recommend - Why/Why Not?: Very hard for advisor to reply to voicemails or emails. Technicians performing the work are truly clueless (at least mine was).

Work Done:
1: Chirp under truck
2: AC not cooling
3: Brake pedal recall
4: Oil Change

Notes: Technician that did the work must have been on crack. I had the chirp under the truck, and upon picking up my truck, service advisor tells me that the issue was that the bed bolts needed to be torqued, but they couldn’t do it because of my “aftermarket” sprayed on bedliner... I then told him that I had a factory bedliner, and question why would the factory cover up the bolts on the bed, but said, we need to fix this. He said, ok, bring it back and we may need to strip the bedliner where the bolts are...

I really didn’t think about it at the time. Thought, well, that stinks, but assume they know what they’re talking about, but it bothered anyway. I did have to send him my window sticker to prove (can you magine?) that my bedliner was factory installed. I guess looking that up on the dealer’s computer to verify OEM equipment is too much of a chore...

Upon getting home I looked at the service manual and voila, found out that the 2019s beds are secured from under the frame, not from the bed itself. Assuming prior years where (I can’t remember).

Anyway, I sent a copy of the service manual to the advisor and pointed my dismay that the techs are not even using the resources at their disposal. Specially on a totally redesigned model. This was a simple thing to figure out. Can’t imagine letting them work on more complex systems.

By contrast, this issue was correctly identified and fixed the first time by Helfman RAM on Katy Fwy. Kudos to them!

Anyway, needless to say, stay away from them. You’ve been warned.

Recommend - Yes/No: Yes
Recommend - Why/Why Not? : Definitely a high volume dealer/service center. By far the best experience I've had with Ram dealers. Greeted as soon as you open the door. Quick chat with advisor and they need your info to drop you into a loaner. (My first visit with them was an Enterprise loaner for 3 days so maybe repeat customers get loaners?)

Work Done:
1. Rear brake moan kit installed - eliminated brake noise
2. 3 recalls
3. Check out AC - applied TSB FW update
4. Fix rough shifting - couldn't duplicate even after putting 26 miles on it

Notes: This is my go to service dealer now.

Recommend - Yes/No: Yes
Recommend - Why/Why Not? : always great to work with and offers a free lifetime oil changes, tire rotations and engine life warranty when you buy a truck/car with their dealership.

Work Done:

Notes: 5,000 Mile oil/filter change, tire rotation and multi point inspection. Also did a recall on the truck as well which was needed. Needed to flash the PCM on this recall.

Using this dealership above all others was the level of service they offer. The free lifetime oil changes and tire rotations was a bonus but the work they do and the communication they provide is top shelf. They are great to work with.

Thanks Alex,

I know you’re trying to help, but that list means nothing.

A so-called “customer first“ dealer I’ve used is on that list (just checked), and I’ve received horrendous service from them.
Means nothing, and it’s the sole reason for this unbiased thread.

Thanks

Recommend - Yes/No: Absolutely Not!!
Recommend - Why/Why Not? : Went in for warranty and recall work when truck was 1 month old. Dropped off the truck early in the morning before hours. The front passenger fender and headlight panel were damaged in the parking lot during the early hours. Somehow their camera watching this part of the parking lot got turned off during the time in which someone backed into it. I'm Thinking it was someone working at the dealership. When I arrived to pick up my truck there was no mention of the damage and the truck was parked so my approach couldn't see the damage until I got home. When I went back to report the damage thats when they checked the tapes and that section was missing. They even tried to say it must have been damaged before I brought it in, which I would have seen in my garage! I wrote to everyone including FCA and nobody would offer any compensation for this damage they all just kept saying "sorry the camera was out". DONT EVER GO TO THIS DEALERSHIP WITH YOU CAR/TRUCK!!

Work Done: Warranty/Recall

Notes: I've talked to a few people including a cop in this area who swear never to return to this dealership again for various similar experiences. Go to Quirk, Herb Chambers Danvers, or Acton I'm hearing.

Unbelievable how some dealers can zap the joy out of owning an awesome vehicle. Wish you had some recourse to pursue legal action against them.

Let me take back all I said about Andrew. My headliner, allegedly ordered in May, backordered until July, was not . I patiently waited until the first week of August, expecting a call to schedule replacement. Second week of August I called and left a message for Andrew to call...he didn't. Thursday 8-15 I called him. He said he'd check and let me know where headliner was. He didn't...so again, I called him on 8-19. Got put on hold for about 15 minutes, when he returned to the phone, still backordered, nationwide delay shipment and it won't even be manufactured until Oct 19. All sounds official, right? As the week wore on, I got madder and madder thinking about this. Called a different dealer in another state last Thursday, and they told me they could get a headliner in 4-6 days and it only took 5 hours to install. OH REALLY.....
Today I visited Texas Dodge...spoke with my salesperson...told him my saga. First move...to the service department to visit with Ivan. Ivan brought up my service report. There it was, headliner improperly installed, unable to correct. Period. Nothing else, NADA. Ivan brought out tech who had looked at it earlier and she was impressed it had not been fixed because she had to take pictures to show FCA what was wrong. Authority to fix expired 7-8-19, so even if the alleged backordered part had arrived, they would have had to re-authorize. What a crock. Next move, parts. Parts department had NO RECORD-ZERO of any headliner ever being ordered for my vehicle. I then told the salesman I needed to talk to Joe Harless, General Manager. He told me he would take care of it, Joe was in a meeting. I excused myself to the restroom, and lo and behold leaving the john, there stands Joe. He greeted me with "How's your new Ram doing?". I responded to the affirmative BUT....Just caught one of your employees in a flat footed lie, he LIED to me about ordering parts, and my status.
Who was it?
Andrew.
IN SERVICE????
Yep, that's him, we've got the part ordered and it should be taken care of next week.
Good, let me know when you bring it in for service. I'm going to have a word with Andrew.
I am personal acquaintance with Joe, his sister is my neighbor.
Andrew just screwed the wrong guy...

Recommend - They sold me this truck then told me to find another dealer to help me. I refused to accept their incoherent explanation for how there is nothing wrong with my truck. I ended up having to drive hrs to a different competent dealer to have them diagnose. They also got paid to update my TCM and never did. They are a lazy, incompetent, unprofessional dealer

Work Done:
1: Brake pull (unresolved and unwilling to continue diagnosis
2: Trans clunk (got paid to update my TCM and never did)
3. tail gate issues unresolved
4: dash snapping unresolved

Notes:
This dealer treated me poorly from the sales manager Robert to the Service manager BOB..... to the GM Steve. Then after all that told me to take my business elsewhere, while I was still asking them to diagnose a safety concern... DO NOT GO TO FORT COLLINS DODGE
I added my crooked dealer and found a great source to warn others https://www.dealerrater.com/

Since I did not hear from anyone at Texas DCJR I decided to stop by and check on my headliner. Found finance guy, we went to parts. Parts looked and looked, and looked, couldn't find me. Looked some more, looked again-Oh Wait!! Found it!! It's unavailable from parts provider! Guess you are out of luck! No...YOU ARE. They are building Quad cab trucks EVERY DAMNED DAY, and they can't get me a headliner? So again, ended up in dealership GM office raising my voice and wanting ANYONE to get involved in my issue. He proceeded to tell me FCA had FAILED TO PROVIDE PARTS to COMPLETE CUSTOMER ORDERS on at least six vehicle THIS YEAR!! Four of those customers walked, one went ahead and took delivery, had it less than 90 days and traded for a Toyota, the the sixth was still waiting (8 months) for his part to come in to complete the Rebel he wanted, special ordered and the cordless charger was left off of, even though it was on the build sheet and Maroney when the vehicle came in. This is a total and complete neglect of customer trust top to bottom and lack of responsiveness is likely driving a HUGE number of potential purchaser away from the dealer.
The GM agreed, and offered that if I will appear at the dealership at 800am Monday they will get to the bottom of this....waiting.
