Cap/topper options

Put in an order from the Leer Outlet store for a Leer model 122 High Rise
With a headliner, Front folding window, and large Side Windoors with slider
and screen. This is for my 2021 Laramie Crew Cab 4x4 with a 6'-4" bed.

Installed at the factory outlet in Milton PA Quoted $2750. The dealers
around here wanted about $1K more. I will be traveling mid December
through that area with the new Truck for install.

What’s the waiting time for the Leer and ARE?

Leer said 5-6 weeks. They don't have to ship it though. local dealer
quoted 10-12 weeks for the ARE Series.

About to pull the trigger on a shell.... going for a snugtop, anyone have a snugtop rebel or XV ? Looking for a few photos of them on your truck and your thoughts on either one.... $1000 difference between the two seems extreme.

Yes...have one and love it. Kind of loaded mine up and love all that it came with. Remote lock, led strip light, USB ports, sliding flip up windows, sliding fold down front glass, headliner, roof racks. Wished I added a plug or cig lighter port too. But...super happy.

Great thanks.... what steered you toward the rebel vs the XV ? I understand the XV has bigger windows and a better locking mechanism ? Got any pics of the shell from the back ?

@Bay Area RAM I snagged some this morning. Here is the back and I attached a few more as well.

What is the cap rack you reference? I have an ARE and looking at the leer locker it seems like a great addition. When I google cap rack I get results for ladder racks etc. Thanks!

Sorry for the late reply. Go to cap-pack.com. Leer licenses their locker from them as far as I can gather.

Thanks - looks like a great product if I ever have $700 to spend!

@Ski Taxi it‘s not too bad to get up there. Yes, I just use the tire but I also use the tailgate to access it. Since I added the lift, it made it just a little bit more out of reach. I also just leave mine up there though since it’s kind of a pain to take off and on. Have also been thinking about getting a tire step to make it easier in the snow...tires can get a little slick.

Brother you are the best..... !!
that looks like a perfect fit.... I wasn’t sold on the flip up windows but I like what I see on your truck And it makes getting in the side way easier.
I'm doing it.... ordering one next week, so what if I can’t pay my mortgage... I’ll just sleep in the truck . Seriously, thanks again for all the pictures.

Ha! That’s awesome. I am super happy with it and the camping is super nice in it. Yes, having the windows open on the sides make access so much nicer. Think you will be happy with it. Send some my way when it get it done.

Guys I would stay away from at least the ARE CX Revo. Probably more of their products as well due to them not standing behind their work.
Long story short. Leaky side window witch is probably from a cracked mount, rear window doesn't seal so you get a lot of water and dust in unless you buy bulb seal and seal it up yourself.
The back window seal between the window and shell let go on mine because the paint let loose underneat it which cost me money to replace the first time. The 1/4" 3m tape that comes with the new seal doesn't hold worth a **** and you need to get a 3m glue to stick it down so it seals. All the steel rear window hardware is rusting and bubling paint.

I have emailed the regional sales manager at ARE and have gotten ZERO response in the past 4 weeks with 3 emails I have sent asking for them to send new hardware and to warranty fix the window.

I'm done with ARE since they don't really give a **** about having a quality product and standing behind it. Leaving it to the customer to fix what they should have designed better in the first place.

You have been warned.

Okay bro's, today is the day. Ive got an appointment to have my LEER XR installed with bed rug. Also, I should note my truck has thr MFT so this should be interesting. Wish me luck, ill post photos when I get some!

Well it fits, even with the MFT tailgate. Still have to run it through the car wash to see if it leaks at all but im super happy so far

Nice. After three different trucks, I got the full Bed Rug on my Leer. Will never own another truck (with cap) without it. After 18 months, I have been very happy with my Leer with the exception the Leer dealer didn’t install the Leer Locker correctly. This is my first Leer after many ARE toppers, and I like this one the best for quality. I do think the ARE “z” series is better looking.

Agreed, ARE make some of the nicest looking toppers out there for sure. I'll post more photos tomorrow once its light again, it looks pretty beefy on 35's and lift
