Here is my ARE CX Revo.

I have the same color truck and I’m looking at the same top. Can you send more pics? How was the color match?

I think the color match is great and I am very happy with it so far. The only bad thing is that I am a journalist working on a magazine article involving my truck and now I have the cracked rear window frame. So now the cap has to come back off so they can replace the window

So today I pulled the trigger on the leer 100xq. After going back and forth between the 100qx and the z2. I felt like I liked the look of the of the larger window on the leer. Thanks for all that posted picks it really helped my decision. This is the photo that sealed the deal for me.

I bought a Fibrobec E-Sport which is (i think) a rebranded A.R.E. CX. The 2 companies are somehow related (maybe Fibrobec makes A.R.E. toppers under license?)

Below CAD$2700 including a top rack and 15% taxes. (around USD$2000)
Where did you buy it from, may be worth a trip..

Just had my top installed today. Looks great but the color is off. I have to take it back so they can send it out to be repainted.

That is pretty noticeable. I also have the billet silver and when I ordered mine, Leer wanted to be very specific on the color code based on the build date. Supposedly the billet silver had a slight color change somewhere along the line. Mine is a fantastic match color wise. Hopefully they get you squared away.

Did you send the small fuel door to match it or did they just match it by the code?

I went with the Leer 100XR, the rear window/hatch locks/unlocks via the truck fob. I’m very happy with it, the color is spot on... they did ask for the production date along with the color code as the code alone is not specific enough.

Cost $2500 out the door with the headliner & removable rear window.

Unfortunately I’m not to impressed with the Leer dealer (San Diego) I purchased it from, the alignment of the shell on the truck was poor... about 3/8” to one side. The rear lock stopped locking/unlocking a week after install (traced it back to a wire that came loose from a connector). I also purchased a bed liner from them at the same time, I didn’t realize how poorly it fit until I strapped some cargo to the front of the bed and found about a 3” gap between the liner and the bed wall. The Leer dealer (San Diego) tried to tell me that’s how it’s designed - to prevent the bed from getting dented (BS), and that is the only liner they make for my truck. I called another Leer dealer and verified that it is the wrong liner.

crazydrive, did you ever get a shell? Small world - I’m pretty sure I met you at the Leer San Diego dealer... I remember talking with you about your experience with Snug Top.

If you haven’t already purchased one but still plan to, I would read my post above about my experience with Leer S.D. There is another Leer dealer in Murrieta, not to far from S.D.

I had the 100R on my last truck, held up great, the paint on the shell still looked new after 15 years, where as the paint on the truck (2004 Tundra) looked like crap and had begun oxidation @ 10 years.

The rear window/hatch is much nicer on the 100XR vs the 100R... well worth the extra $.

I went with ARE V-series, very basic topper. Fit and finish is excellent. $1900/installed. I also added a power port, 12v and USB, switch runs the topper lights. I'm really happy with it!

Hi Clyde,

No I didn’t yet and I’m not sure what I’m waiting for ;) I deeply hope some miracle company will show up on the market, they will read about all problems in each different shell and put together one new modern and fully functional amazing topper  on top of this now I see that we have to drive far away to get a good dealer/installation, looks like LEER SD is no different than SoCal Truck:eek:

I seriously would like to mix elements from each shell/company together and I would save/pay extra money for a comfort of having something really functional and esthetic.

Thanks for the hint :)

I finally had my SnugTop Rebel installed today and couldn’t be happier! Here are some from this afternoon...can snap some of the inside later. Added Rhino tracks, Thule bars, River Quiver, 24” LED strip on the inside, remote lock with key fob, vented windoors, and USB ports.

Looks nice! What was the cost before extras and where did you get it?

Thanks, Will! I am located in northern Colorado and got it from S-Cargo in Loveland. The Rebel topper alone was $2,425 without the extras and tax. These guys were awesome to deal with...true mom and pop shop, which I am happy to support during these times.
