Finally got my Snugtop XV installed... of course the Yakima racks are on back order due to COVID. Wanted the ventdoors Instead of the sliders but they aren’t available on the XV, but the fit and finish of the XV vs Rebel was a little better so I went for the pricer one. Full led lighting, keyfob locks, power ports in the rear, sportsman upgrade so the top is thicker and can hold more weight.... now if I can just get the 3rd brake light to work right I’d be all set. I can definitely feel the weight of the topper on the truck but in a good way, seems more solid in the rear end now. Also seemed to quietened the road noise down a bit from the rear as well.

here are a few pictures as I wasn’t able to find a ton with my color and style When I was looking.... @Bobbybob, thanks for the help and suggestions.

I'll be getting my cap installed on Friday, I went with a Lakeland Predator and added carpeted headliner and 42 inch LED domelight.

$1944 total with the install and they're wiring the light from the engine bay instead of tapping into tail lights or 7pin harness. They seemed to be a much better value than the other brands, I think that has a lot to do with them being made right here. I had one come with a 2000 chevy long bed I owned in the past and it was really durable. I also have experience with ATC and ARE, both were great caps and had arguably better styling for the side windows, but they come out to be more expensive in my area.

I'll post pictures when I can!

It's finally on!

Definitely isn't the cleanest line where it meets the bed, but overall I'm really happy with how it looks. I wanted the modern hatch and slider windows. Most of the caps that had the lines I wanted come with recessed windows, so in the trade off between looks and function, function won and I saved money.

Long story... I was struggling to find exactly what I wanted and looking at used AND new (which would have cost me between $3 and 4 grand). At the last minute I checked *bay and found a Leer 100XL for 5th generation and paint matched for $350!!! All I had to do was a 10 hour roundtrip. It even has the fold in front window. AND he sold me a really nice BedRug for $50.

That is the deal of the century - When I traded in my 2014 Ram for my 2019 I had to get a new topper and I sold my 5 year old ARE X-series for $1,000.

You didn't happen to notice as you pulled up if he was grinding the serial numbers off it, wiping it clean so there were no finger prints and have a buddy standing by the door as lookout? ;) :D:D:D $350 is a very good deal as long as you're not sitting at Home Depot and sold old boy comes walking up to eyeball your new set up to see if it is the same one that disappeared off his four nights ago. Heck the way they steal tailgates now days I'm waiting for them to start stealing toppers!

Yeah, I was worried about that but this guy seemed legit. He was driving a 2019 in my color and I backed my truck up to his and we "walked" the topper over to mine. And we ripped out the bed rug he sold me. He bought his truck used with a topper and got better from me than he could have going thru craigs* or FB Mkt. \
The depreciation of toppers is simply astounding!

I must be living a charmed life (well, I AM living a charmed airline pilot life!) because it was a deal made in heaven.
The only drawback is that now, with the topper on, I have an air squeal at speed. Above 60mph, if I have any air turned on, I have a squeal. Turn off the fan or go to recirc, no squeal. Open a window a crack, no squeal. And it never did this pre-topper!!!

I love it. I had to do some very light dremel trimming in the back by the tailgate/bed area because of some rubbing. Mostly an installer issue. Seems high quality and I love the look.

short bed version only......nothing fiberglass is available for 6'4" beds
I asume you're talking about in the LEER brand correct? I have a 2019 Big Horn with the 6'4" bed and bought an A.R.E. CX series fiberglass topper in April 2019 for it that has been good. A.R.E. makes several fiberglass toppers for the 5thgen 6'4" bed.

@Sjblanar07 would you mind sharing how much that topper set you back? I love the set up with the side windows and am looking to go with that exact set up.

I am in Oregon. Haven’t ordered my yet, just got my truck about a week and half ago, I was quoted about $3500.00. I am looking at the the same one.

Thanks. I just got quoted for a Ranch brand and will probably go that route. They quoted me 1800 for one with the windoors. Only downside is they don't offer the keyless entry with that model. Overall, I'm really surprised at how much cheaper the Ranch is over the Leer or ARE.
