Hello everyone, recently purchased a 2019 Ram 1500 with 20k miles. I have been having an issue with a clunk and vibration in the cab. I was looking at the body mounts in the rear and the passenger side appears to be different from the driver side. It appears the driver side body mount is missing something, it doesn't look right. The passenger side appears to have a plate that presses up against the rubber and the driver side doesn't have this, its just the bolt going through the rubber mount, its hard to explain but if you look at the attached pictures, you will see what I am talking about. Can anyone confirm if this is how its supposed to be? Doesn't look right to me. Any help would be appreciated.

Anyone? Will not having the plate pushing against the rubber bushing have an effect on it functioning properly?

Based on the pictures without the plate the bolt isn’t able to properly compress the bushing... this would make the noise your describing. With the age and mileage it’ll still be under the factory warranty, take it in and have them fix it.

They said they have ordered the part, buts it’s backordered, they said that it would have no effect on the vibrations and noise I am having. But I’d rather get it replaced anyways while under warranty, and yea that’s what I was thinking , that the way it is it can’t properly apply pressure to the bushing. They said the rest of my problems with vibrations and clunking is due to my 1in rear lift spacer in the back, But all these problems were present when completely stock. Thanks for your reply.

Most lift spacers today arent metal so hearing a clunk from it would be odd

Not sure if everything is fixed, there’s a TSB around 2019 Body bolts.

page 56 mid page I have a post with a linked video of the issue with the clunk.

I have a 22 and it's been at the dealer service for over 7 weeks we've replaced sway bar links, control arms, axles, and today they finally said they think it's body mounts, SMH praying this is the final thing to fix it, but it definitely had all of the symptoms I've read with cracking and popping noises over low speed irregular terrain and very sharp hard right hand turn, it always sounded like it was front passenger suspension or steering components but it seems like this may be a body mount

Here's the fixes that others have done to remove noises over uneven terrain.

Steering assembly replacement for grinding/vibration when turning
upper and lower control arm bolts tightened
replace the sway bar end links and/or bushings
Tighten the top bolt on the front shocks
Verify the brake caliper mounting bolts are tight
Replace the A and B pillar body mounts

I did all of the above and the fix for me was the body mounts. It was a cheap fix at under $100 for the parts and less than 1 hour to do myself. The cracking and popping on my truck came from the lower control arm bolts being loosened for an alignment and not tightened enough. I'm sure my bushings took some abuse while the bolts were loose, but I was able to tighten it enough to eliminate the creaking sound. The clunking over speed bumps was eliminated with the a new style body mount. Not sure why a new mount was created a couple years ago but they aren't factory installed on new trucks and the issue continues for many owners.

My truck is perfect now regarding sounds when turning and/or just driving.

hopefully they have changed the actual sway bar frame bushings and not just the end links.. mine on my 20 ram were destroyed before 80,000 miles.. lots of clunking down there.. changed them and the links last week myself and it sounds great again up front..
