adhesive + clipsI just bought the black tailgate Ram Head emblem. Are you saying there is no adhesive, just clips? Also, how’d you pop it off?

Looks good from a far. What about up close? Debating whether to plastidip or just fork out the $120 for factory matte black. Not really sure why Ram refuses to offer more black badges Hood emblems done. Had some plastidip pool in the I of the word hemi, and the adhesive I used was a little too thick. It works for now, we will see how it holds up in Florida sun this summer. I may just buy the whole bezel for 120 and have it ready to go whenever the imperfections start to annoy me, fade, or whatever.
If you look closely it doesn't look terrible, but you can see imperfections. Some pooling inside the letters where i put it on too thick and it settled due to the angle they were sitting at because of the tabs on the back of the emblem. It could be from me plastidipping for the first time. If I could do it again, I would just buy the bezel. If money was tight, it certainly can be done in one afternoon on the cheap and come out perfect if you are patient and/or have more experience plastidipping.Looks good from afar. What about up close? Can I assume that the part comes with all the necessary hardware as well?Double check but this is what I received from my dealer

Clips and adhesive. I used heat gun to get the adhesive soft, then a little fishing line to make some room for a plastic pry tool. Then eventually ripped it off. The remaining adhesive comes off pretty easy compared to any other badging adhesive.I just bought the black tailgate Ram Head emblem. Are you saying there is no adhesive, just clips? Did you get touch-up paint from the dealer for the exact match? does it come in aerosol?I pulled off the grille letters and painted them to match the truck, I think it looks a lot better than all black up there. I still have to do the door letters, but haven’t decided on black or just debadging.View attachment 15048
Nope, what you have is correct. The is no adhesive on the grill letters.I've read several times in this thread that the new front grill letters have tabs and adhesive. Should I be worried that mine done seem to have any adhesive on them? View attachment 21544

Thank you SirNope, what you have is correct. The is no adhesive on the grill letters.
Sorry to ask this question again but these threads get so long, are there Ram Grill Letters that are not glossy coated and suited more for painting? If I want to paint the letters the same color as my truck.
Yeah I saw some videos on youtube- basically - fine grit sandpaper rough them up a little, then primer, then paint, then a clear coat sealer. I ended up just snapping the black ones on and actually like it as is.I am planning on ordering the black letters and paint to color match. I have seen others do it, but not sure what kind of prep was done. I plan to hit it with a little steel wool to rough the surface slightly.
does anyone have a number for the black badges on the sport hood?

Somewhere in this thread a member posted pics of him just prying the bezel off w a trim removal tool. Scroll through from the beginning you will find it.I purchased the bezel instead. I want to install it myself but I can't figure out how to get around the heat shield inside the hood. Any tips?

Search for a well written DIY on here. You do not need to open the hood to remove/install the shroud.I ordered mine through MOPAR and it only came with the bezel. Trying to figure out how to remove the heat shield under the hood without breaking the clips.
