Just finished up changing out the grill letters and the Rams head on the tailgate. Took about 45 minutes from start to finish. RAM letters are supper easy, (as another member said, 5 minutes tops). The tailgate was a bit more difficult with removing all the left over adhesive.

I’ll get around to the doors and hood a bit later, but so far, it’s looking pretty good.

How'd you manage to get the front RAM letters off without breaking the clips? What's the secret? Thanks!

Here’s my truck with the vinyl overlays for the emblems. Looks great.

Look like U & I have the same Bighorn. I left off the side lettering. Not my thing. I might try out the lettering on the black emblem.
Im actually liking the headlights on the bighorn more and more. Not crazy about the Lone Ranger look on the LED's

unless you pull the grill a real PIA. Just pop them off. The small retainers will break off.. The new letters with body tape will not fall off.

If your talking about these letters in pix. It was tough until i used a pocket knife that was thin enough to get under the letters. Then it took about 1 min.

Yea they look the same. I don’t mind the lights. Especially since I tinted mine so it looks good to me. Working on wrapping the steps and the possibly painting the wheels black

Im thinking of pulling them off (step) and get them powder coated matte black like I had on my 2012. Not that expensive and fairly durable.
I bought a busted 2019 grill off ebay. I have molded an insert for LED lights in the grill. Just have to make a silicone mold so that I can cast them in clear. Next mod. Also put red leds in the black Rams head on the tail gate. Haven't got around to powering them up yet.

That’s a great idea with the RAM head

I know there are some people on here that have the standard halogen lights that are blacking out the emblems. But how about tinting the headlights? Here is my truck for an example if you ever thought about it

Interested in your grille LED lights. Post em up when you're done.

I have a nice set of resin interior panel removal tools that I used in conjunction with a razor blade. I used the razor blade to lightly pry up a corner of each letter, then used a flat thin interior tool to gently lift each letter out, using a slight rocking motion. Once one tab is liberated from the grill, the other 3 follow with ease. Just take your time and don’t force them too much.

These are the interior tools I have....got them on Amazon for about 15 bucks.

Just finished blacking out the last part of the *** end. Pulled the chrome “Laramie” and replaced with matte black.

I used blue painters tape to outline the area, dental floss and heat from the sun (which has been a rarity in SoCal lately). Used my fingers and Goof-off for the residual adhesive, and some adhesion promoter for reinstallation.

Now on to the doors.....does anyone have any recommendations for getting the new blacked out RAM letters for the doors, on straight and spaced appropriately?

The Ram door letters come on transfer tape so you just make sure they're level and done. Spacing is already taken care of.

I taped just below the factory letters before removal so it was just a matter of lining up the new ones to the tape.

Also, the adhesive comes off easier without goof off on the doors. Just peel it slow and it'll come off in one piece.

Hey Ducks lover. I did the same. I did the back Laramie, 4x4, doors, hood and RAM on grill. Taking them off is obviously the same, but did notice that putting the RAM on doors was a little more difficult to get level. I purchased the letters on Ebay...link below. They come with the spacers so you don't have to worry about that (see red pix). It keeps the right spacing between letters so you literally just stick it on with all letters at same time. You just need to get it level. I did the same for 4x4 on back and RAM on doors. I put masking tape below the existing letters before removing them and just put the new one in same place. Aligning on the doors was a little trickier. I guess to curve was more difficult to line up with my green masking tape. So I asked my wife to stand back and make sure it looked good. May have not been the most professional answer but I will say it helped a lot.

Yeah, I think the tape application for leveling is the right way to go. Glad to hear spacing isn’t a problem (I already have the letters, just hadn’t opened the package yet).

Slow peel on the residual adhesive is the ticket....thanks for the tip!!!

LOL, as much as I love my Ducks, I’m really hoping for a “rest of season tank” in order to get a low draft pick.

I’ll probably get to the doors tomorrow, but first I’ll need to pick up some fishing line...I went through all the dental floss today. In fact, my wife just asked me if I knew where it was....in which I of course said I haven’t seen it and immediately blamed the kids.
