of course the price has gone up i paid 365. i tried different woofers like 5 sets. i stopped short of going with jlw3's at 400 each although they would work/sound great. due to budget constraints i went with rockford P3's and i can't complain i got a set from crutchfield for around 400 i would recommend them, P2's will also work i tried a set but i need higher power handling. P3's fit but you have to remove the rubber magnet cover and i can't use the trim ring without a little modification of the enclosure top. i can put a pic up if you likeWhat the heck fox box is that!? The site only reflects 3 boxes that all accommodate the ram bins…. Thanks
this is the best video i found on the subject. watch the last 5 min or the whole video if you likeThis is a very loaded question because it all depends on how deep your pockets are for audio but I would say a nice budget set up will be around $2000 with labor to put it in. That would be two 3.5 dash speaker two 6x9 in front doors and two 6.5 in back doors and two 12 in a box under the seat with a 6 channel amp Plus you will need a adapter to hook up to the stock radio if you are going to keep it.
great choices on amps and subs very close to my set up lol instead of getting the dsp amp i went with the dsr1. but you don't want 3 way 6x9's in the front. i hope that box in the diagram is not the one you ordered that is the crewcab box.View attachment 194354
Working on this setup for a 2022 Quad Cab BH with the base audio system. Sourcing Front and Rear speakers and amps right now. I've got the Fox Box on order and I already have the Subs.
Happy New Year. Yeah I just picked a box off of the Fox site for my diagram. For the component speakers crutchfield says it doesn't fit the dash location in my 22 RAM BH, should i just ignore that?
i know they are doing a 4th gen but the dash speaker compo is the important part the dash and door speakers are the same in the 4th and 5th gen'syeah that's wrong they fit.
229 on crutchfield but amazon has them cheaper....191

Love this diagram, explains what is needed in a nice clean visual way. We just took possession of our 2024 1500 Tradesman Warlock with Quad Cab and Base audio (which is f'n horrible). This is going to help me plan a little bit on parts that I will need. The wife wants our first upgrade to the truck to be the Centre Stack swap as she really wants dual climate control. She is always cold and I am always warm.View attachment 194354

for the money the JBL is better and more tunable than the KEY. but the key kind of tunes it's self.I am ready to upgrade my 21 Ram base audio. Infinity also makes a 4 channel dsp amp, but is 35 watts @2ohm. The infinity is tuned with laptop, like traditional dsp, but the bonus on the infinity amp, it has rca outputs to run other amps etc. With the dash speaker being 8 ohm and around 3 ohm in door it is seeing around 2.3 ohm, if you do 4ohm 3.5 and 4ohm 6x9 way it is setup in parallel now, would be 2ohm and would need amp that can handle that. Jbl has a dsp amp with a dsp like the infinity, but 8 channels at 70 watts, but not bridgeable. Wonder why some company online hasn't made a plug and play kicker key upgrade. They have them for other vehicles, makes it 10 minute install. Anc has 25 watt fuse, should be able to run the key fine for the 4 channel.
I was shocked to learn that these 12" head-units natively play flac 24bit-192khz files. I have alot of hi-res music that sounds amazing on this system.
i am a amazon prime member i also found the MP3's to be lacking not in bass but in clarity/quality. you can stream lossless hd and ultra hd for free depending on what is available as a prime member. and you can EQ it on the amazon music app. i found it works best with a cord on my 12.1. you loose a little with Bluetooth so i use USB3 and just keep a cord plugged in to charge and stream. you can even use the steering wheel and screen to skip tracks.I had a conversation with my stereo shop because I put in a complete system and didn't have satisfactory bass. My sales rep advised that it was because many of my music tracks were low quality (MP3). He connected his phone in my truck, subscribes to Deezer (high quality streaming) and played a few of my songs to show it's not the system, it's my music.
Being an IT person, I dug out of the closet the one laptop I still have that has a CD drive. I went through my CD collection and ripped everything to FLAC (since I'm too cheap to pay for a monthly streaming service and don't buy much new music anyway). Definitely a noticeable difference.
Still going through my music collection to obtain some of the stuff I don't have on CD. If you buy it on Amazon, it's MP3. So debating on some if that's good enough, or if I should look for used CD's.

if you are a prime member give it a try.
if you don't mind me asking what was the labor charge on the install????
i put a set of jl C2690tx in the rears DAY AND NIGHT from my infinity's but for 280 bucks a set on the jl's i would hope so.I rip to FLAC and put it on a USB flash drive. I leave the flash drive connected all the time so that I don't have to stream from my phone. I did notice music doesn't sound as good over Bluetooth. Currently not paying for any music streaming services. I figure that since I don't add new music often, I'm better off purchasing the CD and ripping to FLAC.
Only problem with the flash drive is I usually listen to the same mix of 500+ songs. The OEM radio will often lose where I left off (about 50% of the time when I start the truck) and start at track1. Not a big deal since I usually have it on random. Though really annoying if I'm listening to a full album. I just have to remember where it left off.
Labor charge: Hard to keep track of. I started with all Infinity Reference speakers (4X 6X9 and 2X 3.5"). I installed those myself (about my level of skill). Then had the stereo shop install an Infinity Kappa 5 amp and a single JL 12" W1V3 sub in a sealed box. They used a Wavetech 6 channel output converter. Later I had that changed to the PAC AP4 module. Then changed out the front 6X9 myself to Focal ICU 690 which was a great improvement (especially the mid bass).
I've thought of changing the Infinity Reference 3.5" (Hertz or JL) and the rear Infinity 6X9 to something else. The shop I used said changing those wouldn't make a big difference, especially the rear.
