I just joined this forum to get help with my forward collision warning/active braking system on my Nov 18 built 2019 Ram Longhorn. For me my FCW does not seem to be working right if at all. On occasion it has sensed a vehicle making a turn ahead of me off of my road lane that it thought I was approaching too fast or without manual braking an it gave an audible and visual warning and lightly applied the brakes as it very well should of but many other times and especially with a vehicle directly ahead of me that was braking and I manually did not catch (glanced away at that moment - Murphy's Law) it did not do anything automatically. The wife as a passenger is a better early warning system! At that point it was on Medium sensing with alert and active braking enabled. I tried it on Far and Near and in manually trying to approach a vehicle braking a little faster than normal the system never did a a thing. I was in to my dealer for the adjustable brake pedal and the power steering ground recalls and asked them to check the FCW. The verdict was that several times they almost ran over a volunteer mechanic who stood in the way in confirming that the system is not working. They have no solution and called it in to a FCA tech counterpart. I'm still waiting on the outcome but from the forum comments here it appears that I'm better off with it the way it is working/not working. I may just disable it altogether or select warning only until this issue is for sure resolved! BTW in my early going with the vehicle my rear braking sensing scared the ---- out of me when I was trying to do a quick turn around by backing into reverse and accelerating in that reverse direction, it must have sensed me moving in reverse faster than it liked and though nothing was near it absolutely locked up the brakes leaving me to look around for whatever I was about to have hit! Also, one time in reverse and parking by backing up to a wall which I was intently watching in my back up camera, again, too fast for the system's liking but not to mine (a fraction of the pace on the other instance) it locked up the brakes. But this back up thing is okay now that I know what the heck to expect. Just the forward collision warning is junk!
