This was a gear ratio thread, so what's the question leading into?

The 5.7 is already a bit more powerful than I needed, so I'll lean toward MPG, but I can see where some users may crave more power/torque. So I guess there's a market for both, but I don't have a feel for what the split might be.
Correct. That is why I asked the question.
I feel the same as a couple of the previous posts, that nailed it perfectly.
I already have enough power.
Sure 500+ numbers are hella sexy. But in reality, ask yourself this honestly:
How many times a month do you go wide open throttle and wish you had more.
And how many times do you look at the fuel gauge and say, "Damn Buddy, not so fast!"

What is this magical 5.7 that you speak of? I didn't know they had 5.7 motors with more power than the Helliphant. I'd have to be 25% over that to reach this mystical "more power than I need" threshold.
Besides the gear ratio pissing match was pretty much played out at 138 pages. Lol!
The well known proven fact that 3.92 is superior ratio will never play out!

I guy once told me that peak numbers don't mean squat,... but I think he drove a Penstar V6

I'll just leave this right here for you gearheads:

5.7 Hemi = 395 HP / 420 TRQ
SST S/O = 420HP / 469 TRQ
SST H/O = 540 HP / 521 TRQ
Ram Charger = 663 HP / 615 TRQ
Eco Diesel = 260 HP / 480 TRQ
6.4L Hemi = 410 HP / 429 TRQ
6.7L Cummins = 370 HP / 850 TRQ

Peak numbers are just sales points, and things to brag about. It's power under the curve that matters. But only those who like performance understand that. For everyone else, peak numbers are for arguments.

Alright Whisky I'm gonna put you down as being in the "gimme mo power" camp.
So my Q 4 U is:

HurriCrate or Hellephant ?

PS - my last truck was 3.92 so I know which gear is superior.
Hellephant with nitrous! Or perhaps someone from DARPA could chime in and we could tie in Project Orion.
