Agreed. No way I am buying until this issue is resolved.

It's not an across the entire build problem.I live in hot and steamy central Florida and I've kept my truck on 74* auto on my side and 73* on the passenger side since Day 1. No tint on the pano-roof. The truck is solid black. Cools just as well as my previous King Ranch.

My dealer sells a lot of truck and when I was in for an oil change a couple of weeks ago I asked my service writer that I use for this truck and my JKU Jeep about any recurring problems that they are dealing with. I specifically asked him about a/c problems. He's dealt with ZERO. It's not a huge issue. Not belittling those that have one but it's not model wide.

I have had mine for a week. I noticed the ac seems jacked. I will have to do some temp testing. I absolutely love the truck though. My 2016 silverado I traded in for 2019 ram would freeze me out.

A couple of questions for those with a/c problems:

1) has anyone checked if the grill shutters in front of the radiator are open when the a/c is under performing?

2) I have read that the 5th gen no longer has the belt driven cooling fan, true? If so have anyone checked to see if the electric cooling fan behind the radiator is running? Does the radiator fan have more than one speed?

Some have said that the a/c performs better when the truck is up to speed so I question whether inadequate airflow over the condenser could be a contributing factor?

Ditto on ours, here in Texas...no tint on the pano (shade usually closed), black/saddle Longhorn interior, and I typically have it set to 72 on both sides (with seat ventilation on low on the driver’s side)...and I only have to adjust it when I’m too cold in the morning.

Hi Hackmunch,

We are sorry to hear that you have an A/C concern in your new truck. Please send us a private message with your VIN and mileage so that we can document this on your behalf and see how we can assist.

2019 ram 1500 laramie with 2000 miles on it. Bought it August 29. My expience with AC Problems.
I noticed water dripping down from under the passenger side in my new ram. When I turn on the AC I do not get a AC drip from underneath the vehicle like normal. It does drip under the passenger side dash though. I noticed the water pool once I got my all weather mats.possibly a clogged AC Evaporator?? I can't believe that this is happening. I came from a 2014 Tundra with zero problems to this.

Had ceramic window tint put in mine last week and now it's nice and cold inside! I believe all the new Rams are kinda' like the original Honda Ridgelines with the a/c problem in the beginning 2006 era. It was lousy. Not enough push to the cold air. Told nothing is wrong. But I am here to tell you as you all know, the A/C doesn't cut it for the hot states like us here in Florida. Ceramic Window Tint was my answer to their problem that became mine. I'm happy now!

“not an across the entire build problem” Jus Cruisin, what are your temps at the center vent during your hot humid Florida days ? This is the problem with these A/C threads, everybody interprets hot and cold differently. Without vent temps with a temp gauge we can’t compare what is factory spec or not. My A/ C is barely OK in New York humidity but when you test the temp with a gauge it shows 8-10 degrees out of factory spec. For those that feel their A/ C is OK what are your center vent temps with a gauge ? Might not be as good as you think. On a 90 degree humid day my best reading at center vent is 58 degrees, might be good enough for you but that does not cut it for me, my ‘14 Express blew colder air than that.

Don't own a temp gauge and not about to go buy one. Why? I am and everyone that rides in the truck are comfortable at my 74*/73* automatic A/C settings. It blows hard for a bit when we get in it (it sits outside 24/7 in the weather with no shade) then backs off as the temp becomes comfortable. Just like my 2016 F150 King Ranch and my 2014 Ram 2500 Limited. If it was such a wide ranging issue, my service writer would certainly be well aware if everyone was complaining. No one is. Pretty sure us Floridians aren't that much tougher than you New Yorkers....... Maybe we are.....;)

Had the same issue last week with my AC running at LO and in sync. Out of 4 grills only 1 is blowing cold air and the rear grills blowing hot air. I tried to turn off and on and kept doing the same. But later on the day it was back to Normal. Since, I haven't tried adjusting temperatures independently as it might do it again. But yeah AC is under performing IMO.

This is not a solution. I put ceramic tint on the front windows of my truck and it did jack ****... only helps you feel less heat from direct sunlight. The problem is the temp of the air coming out of the vents - nothing else can/will fix it.

Oh yeah I totally agree about the crappy A/C. I'm figuring they got a problem with no solution so for now that is mine. That's all. I couldn't agree more with what you said.

Hi Everyone,

I understand that this thread has been quiet for some time, however, as of today, 2/15, there has been a TSB released that sounds similar to the concerns that you are describing. As the Customer Care Team, we are unable to diagnose your vehicle and confirm that this will apply to your Ram, however, we highly recommend that you discuss the following Technical Service Bulletin with your servicing Ram dealer:

TSB 24-001-19:
