Iv just purchased my first ram 2019 new body style got the Laramie 4x4 in grey but one week of owning it I notice the ac blows air that does not feel nearly as cold as my 2015 Gmc duramax truck I also own I live in Louisiana so it’s always humid but this new ram even when vents are set to blow on passengers only. It fogs up windshield from the defrost vents like it’s set on defrost but it’s not like I’m losing cold air to the windshield when it not suppose blow up there does anyone else have this issue. I have never owned a truck that fogs the windshield when it’s not set to blow up there

My 2019 Limited arrived at the dealer this week so I stoped by the dealer this afternoon to take it for a test drive. I couldn’t believe how underperforming the A/C was. It was in the upper 90’s today in Houston so it was hot but I drove the truck for about 30 minutes with the Max A/C on and it never even got comfortable in the truck, I was still sweating even after 30 minutes of driving. This is definitely not normal. My current 2015 F150 can be freezing inside within about 5 minutes even on the hottest day. Dealer said they would have the service department look at it tomorrow but they admitted that all th 2019’s are like that. Seems that it might be a design defect if that is the case. If they tell me that it operating normal then I will definitely have to walk away from my ordered truck.
This is worrying me as my Limited is on order and due mid Oct. Thats a deal breaker for me along with all the brake issues. I don’t have the time to be visiting the dealership frequently . I may cancel my order. $500 is not that bad to loose vs this nightmare.

Why not just wait until it gets here and see what you think? The A/C problems seems to be hit or miss, and the brake issues have been solved with new redesigned pads which you may have. Some folks say they use Auto and it's fine, for me I have to keep it on A/C and Recirculate to make work for me.

After reporting my AC works fine I was out driving this morning, putting on some more break in miles. After about 20 minutes I leaned towards the center console and got a vent of warmer air and thought "dang, I've got the same mismatched temps coming out like others!"

Two hours later, I happened to notice "someone" (wife) set a much higher passenger temp last night. Reset AC sync and all is well again. Another case of "forum syndrome" thinking I had a problem. Not to discount those having real problems in any way though.

I've put about 4,000 miles on my Limited. The day I picked it up I set the a/c on automatic 74* on my side and 73* on the passenger side. I haven't touched it since. Brakes haven't made any noises.

I'm thinking you're stressing for no reason. There are probably 1,000's of new Rams running around now trouble-free like mine.

I second this. Also, combined with the ventilated seats I've actually gotten too cold a time or two with AC on 72 and seat on low. Can't imagine seat on medium and I think High is reserved for August only.

Mine is way underperforming, plus the whole AC unit just turns off, then after 30 seconds slowly comes back on. I took it to the dealership and they put a temperature gauge to it and my ac was blowing 60 degrees at full max. It should be in the 40's. My 2015 GMC blew cold air 24/7 and never underperformed. They are going to drain the Freon and vacuum the system, hopefully it's just that and re do it. Not happy with that. I'm in a loaner Dodge Caravan, a caravan for god's sake.

I hope they get it fixed up . Mine fortunately never stops blowing but is is erratic in terms of temperature it produces.

I also now see I have the issue the truck determines the passenger side is most important to defrost first..

It won’t fix it, just be ready to be disappointed. The whole HVAC system In the truck is jacked up. The auto doesn’t work right, it blows ac cold air when it’s set to 72 and it’s 50 outside the if you turn it up after a few minutes it gets too hot. The drivers and passenger sides aren’t the same temp and some state the defrost sucks. It’s hard to believe they can botch something so simple. My 09 11 and 13 worked flawless left it on 70 year round, blew cold when needed, didn’t blow at all when cold until the coolant warmed up. This truck has some weird quirks, if the Chevy or GMC weren’t so ugly and cheap with no tech in them I probably would be in one of those. I will just keep waiting hoping they come up with a software update.

They could not have tested these trucks enough before release or the people testing are idiots. Day 1, I could tell the system doesn’t work right.

I’m used to an ice cold AC coming from my F150. In this new truck I’ve never once felt cold or that I had to turn it down. It just doesn’t get cold like I would like. My 2015 Ram would get super cold. Lots of little quirks to these ‘19’s.

I think the difference is clear. Both trucks sat the same amount of time out side and ran the exact same amount of time. I have a full video. But this is the important part. AF0C4B45-80CA-45A5-BBB6-E679A94BD439.jpeg

I have this same issue-- I live in Texas and high humidity is constant. I've never had any vehicle cause the windshield to fog like this. I have to use the wipers to clear it.

That's funny! I'm not laughing at you, but the way you said "a Caravan for God's sake" was priceless.

I hope your dealership and Ram itself get on top of this issue. What is your truck's build date?

What did you do? I just picked my 19’ Limited up four days ago and am having the same issues . I traded in my 13’ F-150 Limited. 6 years and it would freeze you out . Never once Max A/C . We travel to Florida in the hot summer months and don’t want to drive with the windows down. Grew up line that. For 67K I want cold air.
