Adding Passive Entry: How-to

hmmm, Im guessing some of the process would be the same but I wonder it adding it to a 25 should be a whole new thread since it is a completely different electrical architecture and going to be completely different part #s

Definitely be a new thread (there actually needs to be an entire new 2025+ section), very different install.

Did you guys see this thread for 2019-2024?

Looks much easier.

They probably took the work done on here to make their kit. Just like they did with UC4 to UC5 upgrade. This whole thread on here shows how to do it on the 2019 to 2024. And it's a lot cheaper.

Just tried updating my BCM in my 2024 Big Horn but the AlfaOBD wouldn’t connect. Not entirely sure which option to select so I choose the very bottom one labeled simply “Body Control Module.” Am I wrong in doing so? Just spent close to $1,500 in parts, labor and the app to have normal function door handles.

Do you have a SGW bypass installed?

Yes. Using a 12 + 8 pin connector.
Are you hitting the Bluetooth icon in alfaObd to connect to the Bluetooth adapter? I got frustrated a couple weeks ago, after buying a new Bluetooth adapter, because it wouldn't connect. I had forgot to actually connect to the adapter within the alfaObd app

Yeah, I ended up emailing the app admin and asking about which option to choose for the BCM. Got everything squared away but it’s not coming up it settings yet. I know I saw a few people run into similar problems in this thread so I’ll go back and find the solution. Thank you sir!

I'm trying to add both Passive Entry and ambient (Accent) lighting to my 22 BH. Trying to find the door harnesses. I know I need GXD (Passive) and LB1 (Accent). What is LEV (External mirror w/supplemental signal)? Is that the standard turn signal; or something else?

you can get the passive entry harness from Jimmy07, but not sure about anybody making one for the ambient lighting. You might have to buy oem for that or do the research to make our own. However if you were to buy a new oem harness might as well get one that has the passive entry and the ambient lighting.

Thanks. I've communicated with Jimmy. He told me it would be cheaper to buy the OEM than for him to make one with both options. I'm just trying to figure our what LEV sales code is; and if I need it.

So is this just basically a bundle with the two door harnesses (which can be sourced from Jimmy), bypass wires, and an alfaOBD (which can be sourced on Amazon)?

ETA - i did like the install video, well put together I thought.

Yes, pay infotainment 229 for cables and coder or jimmy for wires and amazon for coder for less. Or follow the thread and make you own wires. I would make my own or buy from jimmy and amazon, paying extra just so you only have one order is what infotainment offers not for me but 2 people liked it so for each there own. Plus love that everyone here put this together so I rather reward there efforts

No knock on infotainment, I can see the appeal for some for the "easy" obd program but I also want to be able to do other things with the alfaobd.

Anyhow, I sent jimmy a pm for wires. :)

I got my wires (including rear antenna harness for tailgate) from Jimmy07 and my own alpha obd. Was able to add/change other things like tire size and adding tailgate ajar feature along with other programming (Iplan to add trailer tire pressure monitor) so it's worth it to get alpha obd. Just my 2 cents.
