Adding front and rear parking sensors?

@FM45 I think I got it now. I was confused because I watched someone install park sensors and park assist module on a 2500 model on youtube, which must be totally different from a 1500. I thought the front and rear fascia wires connectors connected directly to the park assist module but based on what you explained, that is not the case. Am I getting this right?

Anyone looking to add OEM rear park sensors kit on their 2019-2022 Ram 1500, you may want to look into infotainment.com or their channel on YouTube. I've just purchased this kit and waiting shipment. It's almost plug and play from what I can see so far...I'm not as electronically advanced as FM45, so I've decided to take the easy way out...I will keep everyone posted. By the way, this kit comes with rear park sensors and wiring harness that connects directly to the park assist module, the park assist module itself, two rear valence, 12V wire for power, OBD genie that is programmed with park assist feature, and the security bypass module. I can't wait to get it so I can install it!

Does the bumper need to be modified to add the parking sensors?

Not on the 2019+ ram 1500s with dual exhaust. You can either drill 4 holes on the black plastic valence that are attached to the rear bumper or buy the valence that has holes already made. The rear park assist kit I purchased came with 4 valence with holes and bracket already installed. However, I have yet to test out this kit because infotainment sent me the wrong wiring harness twice and the programmer that was "empty". The OBDgenie is actually scheduled to be delivered today so we'll see...

Update: obdgenie programmer still failed to program. I purchased the alfaobd software and used it with a cheap OBDII reader I already had, along with the SGW module. Thanks to @FM45 and his instructions, it took me literally 5 minutes to get my rear park assist to work!

Using your write-up to get my parts list for this mod on my 2021 1500 Big Horn Ecodiesel. Does anyone know how to narrow down the correct module and front and rear wiring harness? Looking on BAM I am finding multiple parts with varying prices but don't know the difference for each or which is correct one to order. Below is the list for the 2021 1500 Ram under the Park Assist section on BAM. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

@Y--- as far as the wiring for the front, I bought the OEM wiring harness that goes from a factory plug out to the Fog lights / Front sensors... I believe all Level vehicles are pre-wired to a certain point.. for ex. the front is wired from a plug on interior then out to a plug behind the drivers front wheel well, and for the rear, it's wired from the plug under the drivers seat out to rear harness...
If any member wants to tackle this mod, I will be more than happy to supply part numbers, diagrams, and etc...

hello FM45, I have a RAM 2021 1500 Laramie. Already added front, and rear harnesses and sensors. have the module Parking Assist Module - Mopar (68464880AE) but will like to know how you manage to install this part as I could not find any information or any connectors behind the drivers wheel well where the module goes. Can you share how you manage to finish the installation? Thank you.

If I'm understanding this correctly you have all the parts except the wiring from the CAN Bus, internal wiring from the module to the rear harness (under the drivers seat), internal wiring to the front harness and power. If so you will need to contact someone who can make those internal wire harnessess like FM45 or Jimmy07. HTH

I'm just finishing up this mod to mine, all OEM parts except for the 3 custom harnesses I had to make -- from module to factory plugs... if you have AlfObd, you won't need to make a trip to the dealer...

FM45 if I added al 12 sensors would the programming in your document will remain the same? or does the Parktronics-Park Assist Tuning Set changes?

Hello, new member here but was very much excited to find this thread as ParkSense is one of the main options i didnt get in my truck. Its a 2022 Laramie 5.7 No Air

This guide is great FM45! I am just a bit unsure on the wiring harness build. Has anyone else aside from FM45 also made the wiring harnesses or in general completed this addition to their DT? Would love to know if theres any pictures regarding the harness creation / additional details.

Let me first start off saying thanks for doing the work for us to enjoy. I just want to get some clarification. If we having to make custom wiring why are there part numbers for 3 different wire harnesses?

Sorry for my absence people.. been Krazy Busy here--- Just some clarification on the harnesses.... the 3 external harnesses are needed, those you can order up from Mopar... the 3 internal harnesses are only required if your DT wasn't pre-wired with them... ALWAYS double check, you may get lucky... Pull drivers kick and look for the 3 connectors/wiring .... off memory there should be a blue, black, and gray connectors. If they are there, you are golden but if you have MY luck, you'll be making them ---

For those who want to buy the whole rear kit to include the wiring harness and the module. They fabricated the wiring harness so you dont have to cut or fabricate your own harness. They were also in the process of making the front kit as well but not sure if they are selling the front kit yet.

Started doing some R&D on this project. I was able to separate connector A (pic 10 of the pdf file) under the dash. How do you remove the fixed part of that connector from that plastic bracket? Also is there a tool for people are using for removing the pins from the connectors?

I added all the parts and did everything in alfaobd. Is there a reset I should do to allow everything to start working?

Edit: I was drinking when I wrote this so I took all the nonsense out lol . I'm going to do more research today, but any added info, tips, pictures from anybody in addition to what is in this thread and write-up would be greatly appreciated.

Sorry for the small rant last night. Now that I'm sober :ROFLMAO: and able to research on my work computer with multiple tabs open vs my ipad at home I'm able to understand a lot more of it.

Has anybody done this yet on a 21 and newer truck? I found there is a different Park Assist Module for 21-24 Rams than the one that was used on a 2019 ram in the write-up. Physically they look the same. Just hope the pin locations are the same.

For reference the part # for 21 and up Park Assist Module is 68464879AG
