They haven't gotten a grip on them yet and when I purchased in June, I brought it to the dealer immediately. Unfortunately they haven't figured out why the temp variances between driver and passenger vents. FCA is well aware of these issues.

AC isn’t a new or recent invention in cars and fca designed this system. It doesn’t blow as cold out of the vents as any of my other 5 other cars. Sounds like they have chosen to not put the engineering resources to fix it. That is bad. The concept that they dont understand how to fix it doesn’t hold water. There are now 100’s of thousands of 2019’s out there and this summer is going to be painful for all of us if they don’t step up to this.

Unfortunately I don’t have the time to **** around with the dealership going back and forth and letting them rip my truck apart. And having a loaner for god knows how many weeks, etc. I’m going to deal with it and hope other are a more squeaky whee than me and there is a fix. But not holding my breath.

Not sure if this is the same issue as everyone else. But my ram with less then 3K miles ac stopped working completely and started blowing hot air. The worse part I was on a family vacation in FL and got to enjoy an over 8 hour road trip with my children in 90° weather with no AC. Windows down at highway speed makes for crapy time. Got to experience MSR Tampa all over again in the states.

Happened to me also in AZ. Dealer said refrigerant was low. They could not find any leaks so re added. I got my truck in Oct, so really no use for AC in MN prior to that to know if it was working properly or not.

Mine was low and after they got it to the right charge all of my problems went away. It gets cold quick now.

Well, the dealership informed me I had a loose relay. I then informed them that if AC clutch relay was loose then why was the clutch engaging and spinning. When I checked all the relays none were loose. I also had RPM adjust when turning on the AC. The first place I look is the fuse box when something stops working. I then drove the loaner up there and showed him that relay does not have to be fully in the slot for it to work. He started backtracking real quick. As of now the truck is in the shop.

me too but I am afraid to take it to the dealer because it seems like they work on your vehicles with their feet :/ but I do live in Texas and the heat is horrible here the coolest it has gotten is 50 degrees out of the drivers vents and 48 degrees out of the passengers vents :/ anyone else??

I'm in Texas too. The Austin area, and we need our cold AC. Mine will only get down to about 52 degrees out of the driver's side vent. The 2015 Mustang GT that I just sold would get down to 42 degrees even on the hottest days. I'm going to have the refrigerant gas level checked. Some other folks on here have reported that their's was low from the factory and once the dealer brought it up to the correct pressure, the AC blew a good bit colder.

I'm thinking about running it by an AC repair shop by my house and let them put the gauge on it to see if it's low. And if it is, let them charge it up. I'd likely need an appointment with the dealer and I don't know if it's worth dealing with the dealer on something that is hopefully minor. If it has a full charge, then I might take it to the dealer to see if they can figure out why it's not blowing as cold as I think it should.

A follow-up to the above post.

A little while ago, I took the truck to the local Firestone just to have them check the refrigerant gas pressure since the coldest it will blow out the vent is 52-53 degrees. Their AC tech told me Ram and Chrysler vehicles are coming from the factory 2 to 3 ounces low on gas. And then he said the Chrysler/Ram compressors are weak and that just adding the extra gas to bring it up to the factory pressure want help much. And that the compressor will likely go out at some point. I mentioned that I’m on a 2019 Ram forum and that I’m not seeing complaints about bad compressors. I don’t know if this guy knew what he was talking about or not. I guess I’ll schedule an appointment with the dealership and let them check it.

Have there been any complaints about weak/bad AC compressors on our 2019 Rams? I did a quick search and didn’t see anything posted.

Never heard of any. I doubt a tech at firestone really knows what is going on with 2019 Ram trucks and their compressors. It’s not the compressor and 2 ounces isn’t going to change it from 52 degrees to mid 40’s either.

If there is a blend door issue that will need to be addressed by Ram. The side closest to the evaporator will always be colder than the drivers side although 10 degrees is a lot.

I can tell you that I had the latest PCM update for my engine and now the radiator fan runs at a higher speed when first started with the AC on compared to the way it was previously. It also stays on a higher speed for a lot longer you can hear it now when at idle which kinda sucks but it is providing a lot more airflow across the condenser helping the AC. If you turn the temp down as in colder the radiator fan ramps up. It never did this before. This would drop the temps along the condenser and therefore reduce the pressure resulting in colder air. It wasn’t like this last year. I’m a Honda auto tech and notice things like this. My AC does seem to be better so far but it’s not super hot yet.

23k views and now 239 posts. I'm so glad mine, built last July, doesn't have problems. Or, I'm just not heat sensitive. Still sitting on 74° auto. I have only moved it to 75° couple of times because it was too cool for me. It's pretty much been set it and forget it.

Since I bought my truck in December I never ran the A/C until the last few weeks. I find the spilt between feet and vents at full blast disappointing. But if I run just the vents at full blast I’m very pleased. I find it cools down rather quickly. I do think it kinda sucks at a Stop light when the truck shuts off, then it’s just the fan running.
