A/C Performance

there's nothing else it could be ,ive been doing hvac for 23 years , a not cold enough air issue is low freon ,to much freon ,or incondesables in the system taking up space that the freon is suppose to occupie , making it read like there is enough psi in the system

You need to also consider blend door actuators in Auto mode playing a role AND bad design when folks have 10 degree vent temp differences

true as I do residential / comm ac ,no blend doors lol, but if u r getting 50 degree air out of the vents or even 44 ,ac air will never be cooler than that , unless the evap coil in the dash is undersized and can't keep up

big truck big cab ,not enough capacity

Auto ac is different, you have that heater core that always has hot water running to it. Then the blend doors letting in heat to adjust your ac temperature. There's a design flaw or a malfunction that's letting in hot water to blend with our cold air. I'm going to install a hot water shut-off valve inline in my heater hoses to confirm my theory

The computer programming may be the difference.

This is incorrect. Those are only 3 possible reasons for air that is not cold enough, and only apply to the mechanical side of the system, There are other mechanical issues that can cause issues outside of contamination or charge. r1234yf requires an inline hx between the low side and high side, which makes trouble shooting them difficult because you can't get an accurate measurement on the sub cool or super heat for the system to try an get an indicator of other issues like a plugged condenser or plugged expansion valve. Pressure on the high and low side only tell part of the tale sub cool and super heat fill in the blanks at to what is really going on with the system as a whole and because of the heat exchanger on this system you can't a total super heat let alone the super heat coming out of the evap coil.

but all u guys r not gonna have plugged condenser ,and its rare to have a bad expansion valve ,let alone all of u guys have a bad expansion valve ,also a bad expansion valve will make the head pressure shoot thru the roof

and make the vapor line freeze

My Rebel AC takes forever to cool, And it’s not cold enough.

My AC sucks. I just got a new Infinity QX for my wife and it is a freezer. I have to turn the air down after a few minutes or get too cold. The RAM never cools down.

Hi Cygnus A,
We understand why this may be disappointing. Have you tried addressing this with your dealer yet? We would like to have this documented and looked into further if you would please send us a private message at your earliest convenience.

Hi Lydia,

I am having the same issue 10 degree difference of the temps from passenger and driver vents the coolest I've been able to record is 55 degrees. I live in Texas and the temps are very hot here, no disrespect but it seems like a lot of these fine people here are experiencing the same issue. and every one that has taken the vehicle to the dealer has not fixed it. please you guys that have the power to do more digging please figure it before you send us to the a dealership where they don't have the answer of how to fix it yet.

please help us! we are burning here in Texas!! @RamCares

I hope that you are wrong! We have 100+ degree weather most of the summer

LOL Eduardo! I hope so too, we are already on the 100s here, when my truck has been on the shade and I take off its not a big problem but still the truck never really cools.

Now if I happen to leave it in the sun for 30+ minutes when I drive off I will sweat for the next 10 minutes until the cabin cools to a barely reasonable level.

The truck is bordering on “unusable” on 100+ weather for me. Mind you I am thin built 35 year old...
