My liquid line pressure is 50 psi less than the lower limit allowed and when purging the gauge manifold I noticed some type of debris being discharged. I'm suspecting a restricted evaporator coil which is awesome since the whole dash will have to come out.

Driver measured temp was reading 5* hotter than the allowable temperature and I also have a 8* difference between driver and passenger vents. Additionally I have a rogue recirculation door that will cycle on its own & doesn't seem to seal properly.

Headed to the dealer this week or next.
What was the result of your visit to the dealer?

Hello Everyone,

Would you mind sending me a direct message with your VINs. I've been passing them along to an internal resource for further review and don't think I have all of them from this thread.

Thanks!

Are you still taking VIN’s with AC issues? Brand new truck. AC performance is horrible.

Any help would be appreciated!

Hi Sbroussard69,

I am still taking VINs so thanks for sending it over. There is a TSB that describes what you're experiencing. The number is 24-001-19 and the symptom/condition states "The customer may comment that the A/C is inoperative, slow to cool, or not cold enough. Have you been to the dealer yet? Send me a direct message as I'd be glad to help with that process and escalate for further handling.

Thank you very much for the response! Greatly appreciated.

I plan on going this week. Should I reference that TSB? Is there a solution? That TSB seems a bit vague.

That was the first thing I noticed when I drove off the lot. My AC doesn’t blow as cold as it did in any of my previous cars. I have a 99 Corvette that blows stronger and colder than my Ram!

While I haven't been to my local dealership for this issue I'll share my vin and my disappointment in the AC system. Once the local place replaces the sway bar that supposedly came in today I'll go to a different dealer for the rest of my issues.

Please inform those you work that we will be collectively going to Twitter and Facebook with our AC problems. I have not seen anyone obtain resolution with this current TSB.

Do you k now how much those vehicles have cost us? There should be no reason why Chrysler Dodge isn’t doing their best to ensure we have comfort! I live in Texas. Temps will reach over 100 degrees this year. I will not be a happy camper if my 50K truck doens’t keep up.

Thank you for your help.

I understand, Sbroussard69. I am not a technician so I can't speculate on how the symptoms is described in this particular bulletin. If you'd like a case created before you take your Ram in, feel free to send me a direct message.

Thanks for sharing your VIN. Once you schedule the appointment with your Ram dealer, let me know. I'd be glad to get you an additional layer of assistance while in service.

All,

I wanted to know how you're A/C is working. I feel mine does not get completely cold all the time. My old 14 blew very cold air.
Mine is not as cold as before. When we are stuck in traffic, it feels like a blower but when it is moving, it is too cold....

Am going to do an experiment on my AC. Going to block off the heater core completely, so that no hot water passes into the HVAC system. Very simple procedure, simply install shut off valve inline in the heater hose going from water pump to the heater core. I found my AC not performing as It really should. 78 degrees in KC yesterday 101 inside the truck at the end of the day(wow black interior). 16 mile drive home 12 of it on interstate. 42-44 on the passenger side 50-54 on drivers side was as cold as I could get it. This must be a blend door/ controll valve issue.
Whether it's a design flaw or a malfunction, I really believe that hot air that comes from the heater core is getting into the HVAC system when we ( by the controls) are asking it not to. View attachment 21747 View attachment 21748 View attachment 21749 Hell if I'm going to have my dash torn apart. These shut off valves are very common, every big rig I have driven had one. Every summer you shut them off to make your AC cold cold cold. I'll keep ya'll updated

Hi! Any updates on this?

ac not blowing cold enough is an overfilled or undefiled freon issue

Well mine is filled up to spec and does not work well.
there's nothing else it could be ,ive been doing hvac for 23 years , a not cold enough air issue is low freon ,to much freon ,or incondesables in the system taking up space that the freon is suppose to occupie , making it read like there is enough psi in the system

the air temp coming out of the vents should have a 20 degree delta , ie 80 degrees out 60 degree air
