LOL Eduardo! I hope so too, we are already on the 100s here, when my truck has been on the shade and I take off its not a big problem but still the truck never really cools.

Now if I happen to leave it in the sun for 30+ minutes when I drive off I will sweat for the next 10 minutes until the cabin cools to a barely reasonable level.

The truck is bordering on “unusable” on 100+ weather for me. Mind you I am thin built 35 year old...
I know! it is crazy how much we pay for these things and we get a semi cool A/C system... and then the difference on temps between the vents! it's insane!

but oh well I hope @RamCares can spread the word and make our hard earned money worth while..

I took my Laramie to the dealer a few months ago for the tsb regarding the poor a/c performance and nothing was done either. I just noticed yesterday that the temp in the passenger side vents is in the low 40s and driver side vents is in the low 50s. I really hope a fix is available for this soon.

I have the same measurements in my Rebel.....can hit 44 degrees in passenger side center vent and low 50's in drivers center vent. My 2004 Cummins 2500 quad cab had the coldest and most airflow on drivers side and less flow and warmer in pass side, especially as refrigerant level started to run low. You could make pass side noticeably cooler by topping off the R134 when it was getting low. I believe the evaporator layout made the 2004 act that way. The new 2019 5th gen issue must be more like introduced warmth from heater core, etc causing the drivers side to be less cold. Someone mentioned adding valves and tees (in heater hoses) to bypass heater core in summer to help cooling. Only thing I am afraid of is maybe shortening life of heater core (maybe creating a leak) by not using it in summer. Although if you add a tee line with valve to connect heater lines together and then a valve on each line after the Tee crossover, you could still allow some coolant to flow through heater core to prevent corrosion, leaks, etc but low enough flow to reduce coolant heat levels by maybe 80-100 degrees. Sound like a possible solution to get colder air? Things that make you go hmmmmmm.....

Well my MAX Low recorded temps I can get out of my center driver vent are 57-60 degrees.
My ambient temp has ranged from mid 70s to mid 80's....It wouldnt do better than 60 degrees on a 70s day going down the interstate with it raining.......

Does your build date fall into the TSB 24-001-19 build date range for poor a/c performance ? Built before Sept 20, 2018 , I believe? There is another thread running about "poor a/c performance and dealer says its fine" or similar that has more info.

Jhill My build date is 3/19 so it dont meet the date range...I may just take it to the dealer and ask them to do the update anyhow...I'm also going to ask what their standard temps are supposed to be

They can’t apply an update to a vehicle that isn’t within the bulletin. They can of course check if it’s within spec and then proceed with normal troubleshooting. One thing the dealers need to do is heat soak the vehicle by leaving it outside and replicating what we are experiencing.

Hi Lydia,

I am having the same issue 10 degree difference of the temps from passenger and driver vents the coolest I've been able to record is 55 degrees. I live in Texas and the temps are very hot here, no disrespect but it seems like a lot of these fine people here are experiencing the same issue. and every one that has taken the vehicle to the dealer has not fixed it. please you guys that have the power to do more digging please figure it before you send us to the a dealership where they don't have the answer of how to fix it yet.

please help us! we are burning here in Texas!! @RamCares

They told me 58 degrees on an 80 degree day was within acceptable limits .
They dont even need to heat soak mine I can drive it all day and take it to them and it won't get any cooler than 58 at the vent which IS ABSURD...
I'll go back to a Toyota if this is best dodge can do

I would go to dealer on hot day and request a high level manager drive your truck with you so you know he experiences poor cooling himself. And then make that same manager do same drive in a couple other new trucks off of lot inventory and take along your thermometer. Stand your ground. There is a several page test procedure somewhere in these threads that has a chart on what temps should be out of vents....like 45 for ambient 70, etc etc then rises to like 55 if 90-100 ambient or similar.***** I just found it....check this out!!!! Print this out and take it to dealer for proof that it doesn't meet their own specs!!!!!****

Has any one encountered this problem with their 5th Gen ram.

I noticed on my first morning drive to work. That tge A/C was coming up from the defrost vents. Since I'm in FL the condensation started building up on the front window. I had the front vents on no defrost and temp set at low, and recyle on. Attached photos.

The truck had 50 miles on it.

Took it by the dealer, and they said it was normal.. which I called B.S..

Has anyone encountered this problem..

Thanks
Did you ever get this fixed? I’m having the same issue:/

I’ll tell you this, Ive had my windows and windshield tinted with ceramic tint and my AC issues have disappeared.

It cools much quicker. Even if it’s over 100° inside. And 90s° outside sitting outside all day.

The big fish bowl and the amount of space inside will take much longer to cool down. This has to be considered as a contributing factor.

I also block the other vents not being used when I’m driving. Obviously not an option with a full truck but does make a huge difference. Close the vents you aren’t using and it’ll cool down just fine.

Just brought my truck in for this today. AC not getting that cold. Dealer said I have a "slightly loose hose" and recharged AC. Was hard to test out there "fix" because it was only 60 today. I think I need the update since my truck was built in July 2018 but they would not do it. Just contacted Ram cares. My dealer likes to not fix things or apply there own fixes when there are known bulletins to address the issue. I think I need to find a new dealer. I just had my radio replaced as well and they managed to scratch the **** out of my interior as well.
