The spare module showed up today. It's UCX but will work just fine on the US vehicles. The only thing you're losing from what I'm told is Guardian.

It's available and shipping will be $15 CONUS

How much was it for the module?

It cost me $966. I'm going to let it go for what I paid plus $15 shipping priority in the US
Isn't the US version cheaper? Why would you buy a non-compatible version for more money?

It's compatible with the exception of Guardian. The US version that's no longer being made is $1,180, and you cannot get them.

Oh wow... Didn't know that... Thanks for the info!

I understand the modules are currently restricted for purchase but there not being made? What are they using in new trucks?

They are being made, but the UAX modules are restricted for sale. Parts get revised all the time with either the last letter of the part number, or a new part number all together.

They changed part numbers, jacked up the price by 50% and you can't buy them. Only available via a warranty claim approved by Star tech support. So yes, they are being made. You just can't buy one. And the latest number is backordered anyway. That is why some guys are complaining they can't get the radios fixed under warranty. No parts.

That was the point I trying to make

Good for you bro!!!
So jealous
Repining the harness is the easiest part..

Is there a pic somewhere that i could use as a reference
Pry the red face off of the connector. Then insert a paper clip in the front underneath the terminal to pry up the plastic terminal lock. You’ll push in on the wire while prying up the plastic locking tab, then pull on the wire once the tab has cleared the terminal.

That module looks brand new. Where did you get that

Every time you need to get access to the computer, You need the bypass.
After the change, you can remove it.
Can I leave the security bypass installed or do I need to remove it?
I'd just assume leave it there if it isn't hurting anything.
Thanks
Vic

You can leave it installed but the Uconnect app isn't going to work and Dealer's wiTech need the SGW module to be connected for it to communicate; Hence the dealer won't be able to service your truck unless disconnected.
Bottom line, You "can" leave it but disconnect it when you take the truck for service.

Have a couple of questions I’m coming from non nav 8.4 ok I am posting a pic of the back of the 12 in screen that’s going in and my existing wires my existing wires which one needs repinned and two I can find what hooks into the grey connector behind the 12 inch screen. Also, I’m assuming I’m going to need to find mounting hardware for the new module because my module for my 8.4 is mounted to the whole screen unit this unit came with brake controller is that something I will have to get later because I don’t think my truck came pre wires

I circled the plug for the Brake controller, It's already there. You do need to get the TBC module but it's pre-wired.2ea988c8df7e476c956abd650a38f8c4.jpg

You can use zip ties...
