8.4" to 12.1" screen replacement

Hi. I would be willing but I am still in need of the last part module # 68317978AI Multi Media brain for the 12” screen. Soon as I get that last brain piece and get it up and working .... mines will be up for sale or heck trade it for this brain piece I need.
good! let me know when it’s available! I’ll take them all

I'm looking to buy the 12" screen with bezel. I can get the parts from my dealer for 30% discount but the screen is still expensive, if i can get the screen for cheap, i'll get the module for like $500... Also, it's better for me to buy it as a set, so let me know if someone have it for sale.
BTW, when i'll get all the parts and swap everything, i'll have my 8.4" NAV for sale... stay tuned.

I used the following but this is just the major parts. Small hardware is needed for mounting everything.

Radio module / brain 68317978AF is what I used. A newer or older part number will be fine.

LVDS video cable: 68082364AC was the cheapest one I could find and I used. ( Dodge Journey )
or
68417577AA ( Ram 1500 )
or
5064684AD ( Chrysler 300 or Dodge Charger )

Screen: 68312620AF with lane assist and parking buttons at the top
or
Screen: 68420967AD with only hazards button at the top

Bezel for the screen: Now this is a little tricky with different trims. Please verify color and prices vary widely.
Mountain Brown/Lt Frost Beige or Black 6EJ801N1AA
Mountain Brown/Lt Mountain Brown 6EJ811N6AA
Black/New Saddle 6EJ812XTAA
Indigo/Frost or Black 6EJ822C1AA
Mountain Brown/Lt Frost Beige, Black Interior Accents 6EZ151N1AA
Black, Black Interior Accents 6EZ152X9AA
All color Big Horn or Lonestar 6UV463XLAA
Black, Sport Badge 6UV473X9AB

Mat that fits in the top center: 6MB16TX7AA

Bolts that hold the screen to the trim are M5 X 0.8 x 12mm

Correction 8.4" Nav and Non Nav will need this or a pinout change. The 8.4" Nav will still use the blue connector and this adaptor. If you use the 8.4" nav screen connector without blue tape the hazards will not work when you switch to the 12" setup. On 8.4" setups the hazards wiring is still in the blue tapped connector and not the screen module connector.
HVAC plug with blue tape will also need repined before plugging into the screen. I made several and have them ready to ship just PM me.

Update so I did all the changes on my bcm an everything turns on but the only thing I couldn’t get to work was the volume knobs but everything else works fine. Any one run into that problem

I believe that was a common problem that was occurring. Check out post #309 in this thread...It had a programming solution that seemed to work. Good luck.

You are doing the update incorrectly. You need to be in the pacifica bcm to do the update. It is not available in the ram itself. That is probably why it is showing as unavailable. Read 309 very carefully. I followed it exactly and mine worked perfectly.

Hey everyone! I am new to the forum. I just purchased a 2019 ram 2500 laramie level 2 8.4 w/ Nav setup. If anyone has a 12.1 screen plus all of the hard parts needed for the swap I would be interested in purchasing from anyone on here. This is a great thread and kudos to all of you who did the leg work and supplied all the info.

Big shout out to Njh3409 for guiding me through upgrading the 8.4 to 12 inch screen! Also big thanks to Ram41313 for selling me the correct parts and also helping me!

Looks great! What's the cost estimate for the swap? (Sorry in advance if this was already discussed.)

^^^. That’s a good deal and a completed pkg I see. :)

I just converted my 2019 2500 Tradesman to a 12" UAX, but i'm having a few issues, wondering if anyone can give me some helpful input. After doing the swap i've got 3 main problems, First, my AUX USB ports are not working, i plug in my phone, it starts charging, then disconnects, then reconnects and disconnects, and so on... 2nd issue i've got is my Reverse Camera is not working, i just get a blue screen that says camera system not available. The last issue i'm having is the radio is not displaying a clock at the top of the screen like they usually do. Any help would be much appreciated.

Has anyone in the central Florida area done this with the software update? I’m looking to go from the 8.4 nav to 12 nav but am not very good with the bcm programming part and would just need help with that. Any help would be great.

Well alphaobd has updated and it reads my car as a 2019 ram but I’m getting an error trying to send the commands anyone have any idea why
I suspect you may be connected to the wrong body computer. If you are connecting to a 2019 Ram 1500 DT new style, it appears you need to choose 2019 Ram DS first. Then BCM. Then the next screen gives you 6 choices for 2019 Powernet. 2 are for DS old style truck and there are 4 versions for 2019 DT Powernet. You need to try all 4 DT Powernet to see what works. I have not tried this but I suspect I am right based on your screen shot.

I’m about to be doing my 8.4 non-nav to the 12” as well. @Njh3409, do I need to swap out any trim pieces at all? I seen your post with all the part numbers and all that...from what I’ve gotten is I will need the following to get this done:
12” screen
12” screen module
LVDS cable
Alfaobd

Is there anything I’m missing? Any help would be highly appreciated! Also, is there anyone currently selling any of the above items? :-)

Thanks for your help.

If you don't buy a used screen (That usually comes with bezel already) than you gonna need to buy the bezel in addition to the screen.
