So, I believeI I have everything I need . I purchased a new in the box 12 inch scree , with new module, the same cable infotainment uses, the one that has (DO NOT USE THIS PLUG) and cable 68417577AA LVDS , new bezel for my trim level( that was a pain in the butt to find correctly, the security gateway by pass by infotainment and the OBD2 module. I will have no problem with disassembly and reassembly , but I have apple computers so I know I have to use JSCAN to program the new unit. So all the parts are brand new that I got from a guy that purchased them from the dealer but traded the truck in prior to ever getting them installed. I even have all the receipts. All in so far at $1500. so I have never done anything like the programming that is talked about in this thread. so to say I am terrified that im going to cause a huge system problem due to me not knowing what im doing is an understatement. So does anyone have a step by step for dummies on what to do/ input with the JSCAN program. I have an 8.4 with nav, xm radio , heated seats and steering wheel and proximity sensors. No adaptive cruise or lane departure stuff. I searched but dee no thread on the JSCAN program for the swap. I don't want to have to purchase an android or PC just to program this on ALPHA OBD. Any help would be appreciated.

So i can't speak for Jpro... But, if your good with computers you can load windows with dual boot. This will allow you access with your apple computer. But you will need the install disc for windows. Otherwise other options are alfaOBD.. If you look back at the threads you'll find someone who gave access top a google drive that has the program instructions. That part is really easy don't stress. Not sure where your located. I'm in western mass.. If you are local, you are welcome to stop by for programming.
problem im having right now is I have ordered two different bezels and both are the wrong trim combo. First one top panel with the gloss black carbon fiber look but wrong color bottom ,(didn't have the bright chrome and darker grey body), returned and ordered what I thought was the correct one,, Ala right bottom color diesel gray with chrome accent but a wood grain finish top part. I just can't win here. Problem is I don't have a vin number to match my trim that would have the correct combo for the 12 inch bezel so im now trying to find a 2020 Ram 1500 Laramie for sale that has my interior but a 12 inch screen set up and use that vin, but its really frustrating. I have everything else and im not into th programming yet. So if I can't find it I will be selling all my parts and jettison the whole upgrade. Everything I have is brand new in the box from a dealer. 12 inch screen brand new never installed, the radio module, ( the nav one) brand new from dealer. I even have the bypass from infotainment and the LVDS cable and the OBD bluetooth to connect to the computer as well as the little rubber trim piece for up top. So if anyone is looking for a set up stay tuned.

After doing the swap well over one year later I have had my first problem. While driving driving I was adjusting the GPS voice guidance volume and the volume shot up to full max even though it says a lower number on the display. The radio also went to full max or nothing, no in-between. Tried turning off the truck and opening the door trick. Ended up pulling the battery cable for a few minutes and it went back to normal. Did it again a few days later 
. Hopefully it doesn't happen again because it scared the crap out of me the second time when I was sitting in the drive thru

Hey everyone. Im currently doing crazy interior swap (as i know in my country no one has done it yet and alao i couldnt find amything about that in this forum) Im swapping entite bighorn interior (harnesses, speakers, seats, etc) to limited version. Currently im trying to make everything work, just so i can drive my truck. I am also swapping radio from 8.4 non na. to 12inch uc4 unit. I need to repin 8pin connector that goes to radio, i saw some pictures what should i do, but j would like some more advices on this. (i know i could buy aftermarket extension harness for this but im in Europe so). Any help will be very appreciated

Another post, limited interior is inside along with 12 inch screen. I repined pins and plugged everything in. My side buttons light up and work, ac, and other but theres just black screen, volume knobs dont work. Any idea what to do? I saw that the screen lights up for a millisecond after pluggin the blue connector in, so i know that radio works and isnt completely dead. Oh and i got a canada module (AJ numer) with radio for the 19-21 years.

yes i did with jscan, changed dcsd or something like that i dont remember exactly to active and ics to deactivated

after double checking my radio and module i see one bad thing. my original radio is 8.4 delphi without nav, the module i got for my 12 inch is FOR 8.4 nav screen. It looks like the 12 inch module but with one additional connector. The guy i bought it from did not tell me this. I guess this might be the reason why the screen sometimes starts up for one second and then black screen with working side buttons. My limited interior is in, currently with bighorn harness but i got ventilated front seats working so im good with that for now. We will put everything from limited after our meet

just talked to a electrician that works with radios and car stuff. he said that he can reprogram it to work with 12 inch so i really hope i can get this sorted out in the next week. It's so dumb that 8.4 nav module looks exactly like the 12inch but it just isnt working plug&play together
Thanks for all the info posted, you all have inspired me to upgrade my 8.4" non/nav to 12" ucon 5. With all the details on the page it was pretty simple. I am having an issue getting my backup camera to work. I checked the setting in alfaOBD and have done quite a few resets with no luck. I tried giving it a couple of days to populate but i still don't even have a soft key option. I think this is an outdated software problem, as far as i can tell im on S26.15 and the new uconnect 5 module is out of a 2022. Any help from the experts would be much appreciated.
After 6hrs of reading threads, the above post for help, and 6 more hours of reading I found 1 post on 1 page in the HD 5thgen forum by Jimmy that replied to some one "did set the model year to 2022". I did this and all is working now. I must have missed that info along the way. Thanks again for all the great help on this site.

Hello everyone, I need your help, I have ram 1500 2020, uconnect 8 was standing, I decided to upgrade to 12, bought a control unit and a screen, changed the parameters via alphaOBD, but nothing works, the screen is black, maybe I bought something wrong, please tell me
