2025 Ram 1500 Current Owners - Discussion, Feedback, and Problems

What I dislike on the uconnect is if you want to shut off the radio you have to shut off the entire system. I owned a 2014 f150 that you could shut off the radio but still use navigation and other stuff on the infotainment. Maybe I'm missing something but if I don't want to listen to the music I can only mute it or turn volume down. Otherwise I have to turn the entire system down!

Cruising up I95 yesterday and got a message on the center display that my blinker was on. What? Oh, it is. Last lane change and blinker didn't reset. Whew! Saved me from going around the world to the right.

Some of this silly stuff is helpful from time to time. I guess.
I really hope this doesn't mean they still haven't fixed the issue from 2023 with the turn signals not resetting? I'm waiting for the part to have my switch replaced for the 2nd time and they've updated the part so many times I've lost count..

So I have the MF tailgate so it’s just a big ram head. The metal itself has an indentation for the badge so I left that on.

My Dad has a TRX with the RAM letters and they are just glued on. Nothing to worry about in regards to taking them off. It is pretty easy to tell that they use double sided tape.
I was at the dealer yesterday and he said they come right off with a hair dryer. He was showing my pictures of a bunch of trucks where folks had removed and re-installed them to say WAR

It resets the majority of the time. I think it's related to the lane change and not enough motion on the steering wheel to reset it. I think I just glided into the other lane and very little steering wheel manipulation. That's happened to me in other vehicles too. More exaggerated turns on the wheel make it reset every time.

Bro, you’ve got good input and lots of knowledge. Please take the time to share without us needing to interpret. We want your involvement but people will just ignore you if what you’re saying isn’t easily understood.
Thank you for coming to my TED Talk

That would be cool for people with warlocks.

I think that in CarPlay either/both of them make perfect sense. @RamCares
Pretty please with sugar on top, make it happen.

And what's wrong with muting it? Why u want to shut it off?
When you are listening to music from an iPhone/android, I personally don’t like to let it just keep playing in the background with the volume all the way down. Since I mostly listen to podcast and audiobooks, it makes 0 sense to just mute it. Pausing is the only way. Like @Maddoggin said, we still want to use all the other parts of the infotainment screen when we pause the music. Pressing the power button shuts the whole thing down. @RamCares please change this behavior. There is already a “screen off” button that makes perfect sense if you don’t want the screen on.

Maybe I am missing something but I just touch the pause symbol on whatever app I am using on the UConnect screen - i.e. hit pause on the spotify, sxm or other player.

I think, @Peterhenric is talking about if you’re not on the now playing screen. Like, if you’re viewing full screen Uconnect navigation but want to pause Spotify/sxm/etc.

Gotcha - Not sure how to handle that if you're using the built-in Nav but if you are on android auto using google or waze etc. if you tap the small 'tile' icon bottow left of the top tile you can split that one to show your nav and music player and easily toggle between screens.

Yeah CarPlay has a similar thing.

My Uconnect updated on the way to work this morning. Haven't had time to check the version or survey the damage. I certainly hope my smooth ride doesn't come to an end with it. We shall see.
Haven't noticed anything at all really. I don't have HUD, so that's out. I did notice on the NAV I have on the dash center display it now lists the street I'm on all the time. Before it just had an arrow with a line through it if I wasn't actively using NAV. I'll take the win if it didn't break anything. Which it didn't for anything I'm currently using.

How do you know you received an update?
Also, is there any way to force check for an update? Thanks

I got a popup on the infotainment system that an update was available. It took around 20 minutes to finish. That status bar moved real slow. Almost like a widows update. Rebooted three times. The weather app wouldn't work initially, but it did after a soft reset.

I have seen nothing that I would believe to manually start an update. After reading others had received updates the last few weeks, I disabled update over wireless out of curiosity. That was like a week ago, so I'm not convinced that affected the update delivery.

I took my truck in to see if they could fix the auto door locks when driving, seems allot of 2025s have this issue . The tech told me they tried flashing another software but it didn't take and sent my speedometer gauges into flashing on and off or something. Long story short they couldn't find a fix but notified star or idk that's what the tech said but I noticed after having to setup all my settings again that I had no Alexa app anymore . I checked my software build (FCA-MY24.U35.26_PROD) is this the same build that everyone else on 2025 has or did they flash a 2024 build on my truck? aside from no Alexa app that's the only thing I've noticed different so far! Thanks for the feedback

I know mine hasn't updated and my software build is FCA-MY24.31.42-PROD. I'm still waiting as my Connect acts very weird. It keeps changing to Italian, the sound in Apple CarPlay intermittently cuts out, and when the backup camera is on, occasionally the writing is in Italian when everything else is in English. It's my biggest complaint. I"m sure it will eventually get fixed, just wondering when.

This message popped up for me today. Has anyone else has this issue? It's coming up every time I start my truck now.

I have had this BS since 3rd week of ownership. I have been to the dealer 3 times so far. Last time (2 months ago) they changed an antenna) was OK for a month -- it has been back intermittently for a month or so. Everything works (except for the SOS button on the overhead console when this message pops up).
I will not waste my time again to go to the dealer so they can experiment with this issue.

ok so I was assuming by the "My24" that maybe they flashed a 2024 truck build or something but looks like that's on all the latest builds. Yeah I haven't had any issues like that on mine thank god but when I dropped it off I had Alexa and now I don't. I told the tech he said to bring it back in to fix it but I use my truck for work so its hard for me to just take a day off . Thanks for reply tho! hope you get your update soon, is your truck connected to Wi-Fi?

2 Things: Drive mode and Trailer brake Controller:

Mopar TBC:
If you have a cable harness coming out of the existing TBC module with a tag saying PN: 68601443AA (the part number tag for the harness can be seen from under the rear seats), you only need part numbers:
68569520AB: TBC Module
68618899AA: Switch
And for the dealer to program your VIN.

If you don’t have that cable installed, you’ll need the full kit along with getting it added to your VIN.

The full kit is PN 82219240aa, which is on back order, includes the above 3 parts (cable, switch & module).

Drive Modes:
Someone mentioned Drive Modes earlier in the thread. I’m not going to go find it, but the general thought was: push the steering wheel button rapidly to set/see where you are.
I’ve just discovered that on the Uconnect Home Screen you can make one of the Widgets a shortcut widget. In there, you can pick a drive mode widget and put individual drive modes as buttons on your infotainment screen.
