2025 Ram 1500 Current Owners - Discussion, Feedback, and Problems

Just accepted my new truck few weeks ago and I have noticed that it sways from side to side when I make a sudden turn. It is almost like the whole body of the truck moves left then right as if it was the old style Cadillac or tuna boat. My prior 2016 Tacoma crew cab 4x4 LB didn't do this swinging bit on turns, it seem to handle turns very solid with NO swaying. My brother has a 2023 Limited and his truck sways the same as my truck. When I sit in the back I can see all the passenger's heads tilt side to side a few times with sudden movement of the steering wheel.

Has anybody else notice this same swaying action on turns with your new truck?
Have any suggestions on how to resolve it?

I have a 2020 Limited. It did the same thing until I replaced the rear sway bar. My son would get car sick in the back seat on windy roads. The factory sway bar is a spaghetti noodle. I installed a Helwig, but I don't think they have produced a rear sway bar for the 2025 Rams yet. I ordered a 2025 Limited, and when it arrives, one of the first mods I will make is to upgrade the rear sway bar to something stiffer--makes the truck safer, too at high speeds.

Look for Waterfowler41's videos on Helwig sway bars. He does a really nice job with mods.

Thanks for that reassurance, I have been googling that issue and that is what folks are saying to do. Amazing we have to replace factory parts for better performance eh...

After you installed it did you notice the ride was bumpier?
What diameter did you get?

My wife loves how smooth the ride is over speed bumps and potholes so I an cautious when modifying suspension.

You are right about the Helwig, most folks recommend that brand but too bad they don't have anything on their website for 2025 trucks. Interesting that etrailer.com has one by Helwig for my 2025 truck, maybe they know something we don't???? 2025 Ram 1500 Vehicle Sway Bars | etrailer.com

I just filled up my new truck and calculated I got 13.3 MPG. It only has 389 miles on it, been driving with cruise control when on highways, no lead foot or quick accelerations, no pumping throttle, just smooth sailing.

Anybody get this kind of MPG with their 2025 I6 truck?

same mpg 13.3 . I use 93 octane and have 392 rear.

Except for sudden turns😂

I’m closer to 17, Big Horn though, not Rebel. 3.92 rear. About 120 miles on the truck.
I found my mileage has always improved around the 3k-4k miles range 🤷🏻‍♂️
I also i have close to 1000 pound in bed always. Also changed my oil at 1800 miles to 0 40 pennzoil srt oil. I am at 5300 miles now. This engine sucks the gas up my hemis were 14.5 to 15.5 . Same gas oil and weight in bed on the hemi trucks i owned .

Is this K&N CAI? I'm waiting for the S&B CAI. The release is scheduled for early 2025. Reviews and the product look super nice.

Did you install yet? How’s it sound?

The previous year fits the 25's. I have one already installed on my truck.

I did notice it rides a little more firm now. I have it on the softest setting which is still more firm than factory. It's not horrible at all and I love that the truck now feels planted. That was my first mod I did when I bought the truck. Helwig for the win! I really want to try the front one, but I'm worried it will make the ride really firm, so I might just leave it the way it is.

Did you feel any difference with the 0-40 oil? Don't want to start no big discussion about this, just curious why you went with the 40 weight

"Danger Danger - oil wars to come..."
lol no difference in temps even oil pressure was the same . In the hemi oil pressures would go up a little . Its even quieter . Protects engine better . On youtube they did the tfl toaster test and at the top of mountain the oil dipped out below 20 psi to thin warning lite came on. 0 20 oils are American thing cafe . In 2000 miles 0 20 oil is 0 15 . same with 0 40 after a few thousand mile its 0 30 . Even ford went back to 5 30 oil for their eco boost.

2025 Limited here, ~6 weeks and almost 2k miles on it so far. This is my first Ram and first full size after many years with other Mid-Sized trucks.
Came from a 2022 Nissan Frontier Pro-4X with Tech+Safety packages in it. Needed something bigger and wanted more comfort at the same time.

Positives:
Truck is quiet and super comfortable to drive in.
About the same gas milage as my Frontier, but needs premium instead.
Heated/Ventilated/Massaging seats are great.
UConnect 5 is a definite upgrade over the Nissan.
Stop+Start ACC working great, and functions in stop+go traffic if its a super short stop. Longer stop and you need to press resume or gas.
Enjoying the HO Engine, no CEL issues.
I live in a hilly area, and the Frontier would always have some tire spin when turning and also going up/down a hill. Not an issue with the Ram w/LSD.

Negatives:
The 2x Wireless chargers are 100% non functional for me. Ill have the dealer check when I get my first service since I dont care about it that much.
I really wish I had the 360 camera package in these without the $$ package adding everything else.
Lane Keeping even at max setting is only useful on straight roads, and even then, will still gladly take me over the center line when experimenting with it.
I have the side mirrors set to auto point down when reversing which works. However when they return it maybe adds 1-2 degrees more height. After 2-3 Reverse-Drive changes the mirrors are completely out of alignment and I need to readjust or wait till I stop and go back to memory setting.
The additional passenger screen is a net-negative. The passenger never uses it since they have their phone and I would prefer it was just storage. Or even just something that is not a giant high-gloss area that directs sunlight at my face at the wrong angle.
Edit: Added I dislike the "Limited" brand on the arm rest. It gets HOT in the sun and hurts if you touch it when getting in and starting the truck.

Added a Revolver X4s so far, and if I can find an easy way to wire up a dash camera that is my next plan. Will be adding a Front and/or 360 camera setup if that is ever figured out.
Hi Xanathar - I had 2022 Ram 1500 Limited but lost it in car accident (totaled). Zero issues for 40K miles. I'm thinking of getting the 2025 Limited but i see lots of issues with the new truck, engine, electronics, etc. Your review was in August, since than how would you describe your experience, did it get any better or even more problems?
