2025 Ram 1500 Current Owners - Discussion, Feedback, and Problems

Anybody know why there are two batteries? I have 2025 1500 Bighorn 3.0L, S.O. There's a small, motorcycle size battery to the rear of the main battery. I've found no mention of it in anywhere.

I believe the smaller one is a backup to allow the transmission to be put in neutral just in case the main 12v dies.

I've seen as low as 12.8, but noticed no other symptoms, no apparent draw on the electrics or dimming of lights and no misfires.

I work mostly with commercial vehicles, but as far as I know, typical charge is 13.7-14.2 on most vehicles. Other than as you said possible draw on batter life or premature alternator failure because of a bad voltage regulator, I don't know of another downside.

I know it's all ECM now, but I sure do miss when the voltage regulator was a separate part and easily changed out.
I’ll keep an eye on mine for the next few days and let you know what it’s doing.

It's to run the pump that cools the turbos after you shut the truck off

Its the aux battery that handles stop/start functions. Entirely common on most Stellanis models (Ram, Jeep, etc.) since about 2018. A few models don't have them, such as vehicles with eTorque (48v generator) found in some 3.6 and 5.7 setups.

There are a lot of different explanations offered here for what that battery's function is. Could just disconnect it and see what happens (or doesn't happen).

I was at 4300 miles when the CEL finally came on for it. It happened while idling.

I also see the same when idling, it's about 30 seconds at most and it goes below 1k after.
I timed it on my truck, it took 1 minute for the idle to come down after starting it up from inside the truck. But, I did notice a short stumble while it was idling high. Happened only once but was probably a misfire. I won't be surprised if I get a CEL at some point. (My truck was built in August)

Yeah I timed this rental they gave me and it's about 45-50 seconds of high idling as well. It's doing the same stumble/misfire as my truck did, but it still hasn't given me a CEL. I should be getting my truck back soon hopefully. There is a TSB about a new software for the trucks that have the CEL.

Hopefully the update takes care of it. I'm not too concerned about it long term since I believe they will eventually get it figured out. But all the trucks that have gotten a check engine light so far, definitely feels like it's most likely related to the high idling at start up imo. I was hoping my truck, with an August build, that they would have had it ironed out already, but doesn't sound like it.

Used "Active Drive Assist" for the first time on I-97. Have to say I was very surprised by how well it worked - and I was nervous given I was relying on Stellantis Electronics

Anyone have this issue? I've had my '25 Rebel now for two weeks and when I'd unlock the doors using the key fob, the trucks side mirrors would light up and "Rebel" would light up and shine on the ground, see picture below. I've noticed the last few nights that now when I unlock the doors, none of the side mirror lights turn on. I've looked in the settings menu on the UConnect and everything seems to be set the way it should be. Even my radio, when using the usb drives and a memory stick, when I turn off the truck at the end of the night, when I start it the next day, it automatically restarts to song #1 on the drive instead of just picking up where I left off. An example would be if I'm at song #155 when I turn off the truck for the night, in the morning it should start at song 155 but instead it starts over again at song #1. It does this every day and yes, I have that many songs on a flash drive. I know it's a stupid thing I'm missing or that I could've turned off by mistake but I cant seem to get it to work anymore. I'd hate to have to make an appointment at the dealer and have the truck sit there for a few day's for something stupid. Anyone have any idea's?

So it finally happened. Remote started the truck today and I heard it abruptly shut off. Went out and saw “Remote Start Cancelled, Restart Truck to Reset” Turned truck back on and the check engine light was on.

Code Reader shows:

P0301 (cylinder 1 misfire), P0302 (cylinder 2 misfire) , P0304 (cylinder 4 misfire) and P0300 (multiple misfires)

Build date is 7/24. 1200 miles on it so far. Hopefully can get it in Wednesday and hopefully the TSB they released for the misfires fixes it. Other than the rough idling and misfires it runs great

Keep us posted. I am pretty sure that this will happen to my truck also at some point. I'm not impressed with the high revving cold start and then a quick stumble at about the 20 seconds in mark. But other than the cold starts, the motor is super smooth and runs great.

Right about when mine happened. Do the dealerships have the software yet? I was waiting for a call, they said hopefully in a few weeks (that was 2 weeks ago)

Is this happening with all cold starts or just remote starts?

Additionally a weird glitch I noticed with my truck. I wanted to put it into entry/exit mode to make it a little easier for my dogs to jump in. Double clicked the button lights flashed and nothing.

Two things to mention, this is the 2nd time It didn’t adjust while using the remote. It did work the 1st time I tried it and it will work if I adjust it inside the truck just hasn’t worked the last 2 times while using the remote.

Also to note I haven’t really looked into it if there are requirements like it has to be on a level surface if the parking break isn’t engaged or what not.

I think it's on both. I notice a quick stumble in the motor at about the 20 second mark after a cold start. I need to time it to know exactly, but it seems to happen at roughly the same time every time. This is with remote start and also normal push button start from inside the truck. If you get or have a CEL while using the remote start, it will turn your tuck off.
