2025 Ram 1500 Current Owners - Discussion, Feedback, and Problems

Right about when mine happened. Do the dealerships have the software yet? I was waiting for a call, they said hopefully in a few weeks (that was 2 weeks ago)
Not sure if mine does. Service center is closed on the weekends so calling tomorrow to see

Well had the truck for 2 days now.
Having trouble figuring out how to create custom screens in the HUD for some reason it don’t give me any options to select. I’m sure I am doing something wrong. To many darn features to try to figure out lol. I’m new to ram so imagine fish out of water. I could set my Chevys up in 2 minutes the way I wanted them. The lack of a true owners manual is also a drag for me! I love the way this truck rides OMG so nice!!
One complaint is this stereo is not as robust as my Bose systems were. This one seems to be lacking BASS response. I have it pegged to the top and it still needs more for my likening. The voice is clear and loud and the mids are ok. But it needs more Bass response for my liking. Again I am used to Bose systems.

I'm finding that the electronics are VERY buggy in this truck. With the heads up, there were times where I'd set it to the way I wanted in the custom screen, it'd come up on the radio, I'd save it, I'd park the truck for the night and in the morning, it would just show the speed on the windshield. Then I'd have to go through the custom menu again, save it on the radio and hope it'd save until the next morning.
I'm STILL having the troubles with the proximity lighting on both mirrors though. Tonight I went outside to see if it'd work. I unlocked the doors with the key fob, RAM lit up on the ground for an instant, the lights on the mirrors all flashed for the same instant and then they all went out. Radio still goes back to song 1 on the usb everyday too. And I only have 454 miles on my truck.

Its the aux battery that handles stop/start functions. Entirely common on most Stellanis models (Ram, Jeep, etc.) since about 2018. A few models don't have them, such as vehicles with eTorque (48v generator) found in some 3.6 and 5.7 setups.
Thanks for the reply. My 21 Ram had the 5.7 eTorque, so no auxiliary battery under the hood.

It's to run the pump that cools the turbos after you shut the truck off
This actually makes more sense then the start/stop system answers as why would they need a small battery for start/stop? Thanks

There are a lot of different explanations offered here for what that battery's function is. Could just disconnect it and see what happens (or doesn't happen).
It's for the ESS system.................if you want to read how problematic the dissimilar sized batteries are, visit the JL Wrangler forum. they have been using that system since 2018 on the JL's............. a lot of people have had issues with the small battery dying and draining the main battery, as for the most part, they are connected in parallel.

In a start/stop event, the small battery powers the electronics etc, and allows the main battery to concentrate on cranking. They have had the system since 2018 on JL Wranglers

Oh boy, what could go wrong there...

So it finally happened. Remote started the truck today and I heard it abruptly shut off. Went out and saw “Remote Start Cancelled, Restart Truck to Reset” Turned truck back on and the check engine light was on.

Code Reader shows:

P0301 (cylinder 1 misfire), P0302 (cylinder 2 misfire) , P0304 (cylinder 4 misfire) and P0300 (multiple misfires)

Build date is 7/24. 1200 miles on it so far. Hopefully can get it in Wednesday and hopefully the TSB they released for the misfires fixes it. Other than the rough idling and misfires it runs great
Called the dealer to make sure they had the update. They couldn’t find the tsb. Gave them the one attached below. They told me that they can’t push that update if it’s not throwing one of the major symptoms codes even if it fixes the P0300 codes which is total BS. Still taking it in Wednesday and gonna chat with the service tech about it

Is this happening with all cold starts or just remote starts?

Additionally a weird glitch I noticed with my truck. I wanted to put it into entry/exit mode to make it a little easier for my dogs to jump in. Double clicked the button lights flashed and nothing.

Two things to mention, this is the 2nd time It didn’t adjust while using the remote. It did work the 1st time I tried it and it will work if I adjust it inside the truck just hasn’t worked the last 2 times while using the remote.

Also to note I haven’t really looked into it if there are requirements like it has to be on a level surface if the parking break isn’t engaged or what not.
You need to have the dealer do the BCM update. My Limited also wouldn't lower by the remote...but the update they did last week fixed that. It fixed the remote, random Rambox opening issues, and the mirrors tilting in reverse and returning to a HIGHER position than originally in.

Thanks! I’ll reach out to my local dealer

I've seen some similar funkiness. Saving the driver profile so settings get saved and recalled (if you have multiple drivers) did seem to help (even though I am the primary driver 95% of the time). Also, for those waiting for the "Smartphone as Key" feature, that is supposedly being released in the next month.

I do have a driver profile set and it still resets on me. I'm hoping that the computer on the Ram is like on my '13 SRT Challenger. Certain features didn't become active until I hit a certain mileage on my car. I just hit the 500 (S)mile mark in my Rebel so hopefully these bugs will disappear.

Do you know how long it should run for after shut down. I hear mine going for about 10 minutes maybe more

New gremlin!

Got back from a work trip, start the truck and get this...

Anyone seen these yet? Does it with push button start and remote start, but not every time.

Ideas?

Haven't seen those, I only got the service brakes pop up on mine. Its not all the time either, just random.

Oddly, if you can see the Android Auto is connect via wireless, even though it tells me Wi-Fi isn't available.

I do wonder if it's related the voltage issues I have been seeing. The day I took the photo, I was seeing as low as 13.1v indicated on throttle. I haven't thrown a code yet, so unfortunately there is nothing to track yet.

Sigh.you all are quite brave to purchase and work through the early adopter bugs.

Just is disappointing that its you early adopters that get to deal with all this beta testing, while the techs aren't even aware of what it takes to fix it. Then to top it off, they keep your rig for weeks or months while they are learning how to repair them, if they even learn how.

At least they could give you a suitable value rental and make your loan payments but I doubt that will ever happen.

Yeah if I would have known that they changed up all the electrical on this 2025, I would have went with a 2024 model. I had big plans for this truck as I thought it was as easy to modify as the previous years. Oh well.. The only positive I see for when they keep it and give me a loaner is that I don't put miles on my truck. I usually but 150 a week if that, but still, hope it keeps the mileage down and my resell up. Once I find out that I'm positive, I'll be trading in for a GMC.

So far bugs I have or had with my limited
1 lane keep assist didn’t work. Now works good except one road I have determined there is something wrong with that road.
2 annoying buzzing sound inside the cabin, I ended up pushing the radio power button all off and let it sit overnight and buzzing is gone.
3 had forward collision alert come on after restart it went away.
4 mystery on the 2 white dash lights on each side of instrument panel. When I first got the truck they weren’t on but after the radio deal above they are lit up all the time now. It’s part of cruise control but ai would think with it off they would go off.

All this ram tech is so foreign to me I don’t know what’s right and what’s not.
