2025 RAM 1500 BIGHORN 3.0 I HURRICANE twin-turbo, SO, 420HP - check engine light

rho is really set up different it likes to live in baja mode stay above 4500 rpms . Our so motors with 392 rear are the same on the street its not like the trx . The limited would be better 93 octane makes a huge difference once warmed up i have fun my rebel in 2 wheel drive sport mode tc off it will chirp second gear these trucks are a little faster than rt challenger. Just wish slow rpm surging would go away i don't know what to do about my appt . Think i might not go no cel they won't spend the time to check everything .

I use 93 in everything 0 40 oil to . Watch oil geek on you tube about 87 octane what it does to the metal even of the valves it pits the metal . oils to thin today and gas is junk best gas to use is the freshest the most packed gas stations period

I recently purchased a 2025 RAM 1500 BIGHORN 3.0 I HURRICANE twin-turbo with 420HP. With less than 1,000 miles on it, I am incredibly frustrated to have encountered an issue with the check engine light for the second time. Despite using premium gas and driving conservatively, I have had to drop off my truck for service again.

The first time, they ran tests but found nothing. A week later, the light returned, and now my truck is back in service. The lack of online information only adds to my frustration, as I am left without any clear understanding of the cause.

This is a brand-new vehicle, and such issues highlight a significant failure in the QA process. The company must address and resolve this problem promptly. This situation is unacceptable and cannot continue.
Hello Russian Tank
I also purchased a 2025 Ram 1500 mine is the Rebel i also had the check engine light turn on with only 50 miles I brought it back to the dealer they uploaded 2 computer flashes and replaced the 2 batteries knock on wood I have 2000 miles on it now no check engine light, due to all the the electrical components one would figure there would be no major issues check with your dealer and check if there are electrical drain issues. Good luck. Keep us updated.

I had the same issue with my '25 ram 1500 SST. within 2 weeks (915 miles) it thrreq a check engine light, didn't feel any difference but it was definitely annoying. I ran the codes and it said I had misfires on cycling 1,2 & 3... I never felt a misfires nor did the idle change. I reached out to the local dealer and they didn't have any appointments for 2+ weeks and wouldn't offer a loaner since I didn't buy it from them. I bought mine from another state that was discounting and honoring the ram rebate I got from my last 3500 HO big horn I have. fast forward they took the truck in had it for a week and said they found nothing. took the truck back and drove it for a few weeks without issue until it threw another light on (2516 miles).. this time for misfires on cylinders 4, 5 & 6.. again they had the truck for over a week and said they didn't find anything but ram sent them a computer update/refresh that "should correct the issue" it's been a month now and nothing since other than the original issues I complained about that they couldn't "replicate" which is remote doesn't lock doors after closing door, right side mirror doesn't always fold away and a few other stupid annoying things. let's see how long this light stays off for now... just broke 4k miles..
off topic a little.. has anyone had any trucks with fenders misaligned? it's brand new, no paint work but the front fender is completely off and it looks like crap. pictures attached are both front fenders20241012_164809.jpg20241012_164833.jpg20241012_164828.jpg20241012_164821.jpg

yup build quality is down going to mexico for better build crazy all hd been built there for 30 years

Which flash did they do? There are two tsbs that have revisions- one for the pcm, and one for the ignition control module.
Do you have a pic of your service ticket summary, and did they type in the tech notes what part number the flash was and what it was flashed to?
I have the a list of the current pcm and icm flash part numbers I can compare to.
Is it possible if you can tell me if there’s a new flash for my ram. I saw there was a November 1st update someone posted that added knock sensors to the flash. I attached my last update number @Jimmy07

87 can sometimes cause spark knock especially in high compression engines, this is a very high compression engine. I know it says in the manual, on the ram website, 87 is fine. I don’t fault anyone for using it because that’s what it says to use, but I think this engine really wants and needs at least 91 to be a happy camper
Y'all have me curious now. I'm going to start my next road trip on 87. I'll document if I notice any misses or knocking. If I do, I will run 89 and do the same thing, and I'll bump to 93 to see if that makes it "a happy camper".

Nope still on. It feels a bit odd around 2200 rpm as well. Kind of like it sputters once it starts boosting. Wonder if it’s fuel pressure related.
Mine is also sputtering around 2000 rpm now after the update..

What conditions is this occurring? Light throttle around town or during hard acceleration like getting onto the highway?

87 is always better only when you are a slow driver if you are gonna go above 3500 rpms 93 . Try passing on 87 let me know what pops up on dash.

Yeah I feel like something else is happening for sure. I just filled up with 93 and will run it for a few tanks to see if I can feel any difference. I'm going to call the dealer today and see if they want to scan the truck even though the CEL is off.

Mine was light throttle, once was getting on the hwy and the other was country roads. I really don't get on it much unless I have to.
