2021 night edition third brake light

I ordered the light from my dealer this morning. They matched the $386.10 price I found online (they stated that was just about at cost). I want the light to match the night edition look of the rest of the truck. I may add the cable and mirror later.

Just ordered a new mirror tonight (for the second time lol). Jimmy07 made me a harness, and he even had a 2021 BCM to send me so I should be all set to try this again!
Don't forget the video cable. I had to use a 10 foot one to get around the sunroof.

Do folks installing this on 2021's still lose their mirror dimming functionality on the driver side mirror if they add the digital rear view mirror?

Answered above. No, you do not.

To recap for pre-2021 owners that want to do this:
You need a 2021-2022 BCM, and it can be for a DT 1500, or an HD Ram. It can be new or used. If it’s new, I’m not 100% certain if it’ll work right out of the box because it’s still in ship mode and its program status is not set. If you mail it to me, I can change those settings on the bench and send it back with the harness, or it can be done if you have Jscan. If it’s used, nothing needs to be done to it.

As far as straight up swapping in a brand new 2021 or 2022 DT BCM (instead of using it as a slave), I’m not sure if the dealer can do that or not. Someone would have to be the first to try. I tried running the BCM replace procedure on Vincent’s with a dealer scan tool and aftermarket wiTECH 2 subscription and his correct PIN, but I got an error that I don’t know what it means.

So, if just using a BCM as a slave like Vincent did, you’ll be looking for these BCM part numbers:
2021 DT- 68496414AE
2022 DT- 68526275AD
2021 HD- 68482884AD
2022 HD- 68526535AC

2021/22 mirror, no forward collision warning- 68448639AB - Listed for 1500
2021/22 mirror, forward collision warning equipped- 68448641AB - Listed for 1500
2022 mirror, with tow mode camera input, no FCW- 68519111AA - Listed for 2500/3500
2022 mirror, with tow mode camera input, FCW equipped- 68519222AA - Listed for 2500/3500

If you do not have FCW, and you do not have automatic high beams, use the mirror part numbers for a FCW equipped vehicle so the mirror cover will fit back on.

If you do not have FCW, but you do have automatic high beams, the automatic high beam feature will no longer work when using a digital rear view mirror.

Auto dim will not work for the rear view mirror, either.

68519111AA / 68519222AA
Are these parts known to fit on a 1500? The parts websites list the compatibility for a 2500 or 3500.
It looks like the difference in functionality is the additional input for a trailer cam, hence "tow mode cam input", whereas the 1500 only has the single video input.
Does any 1500 even come with the second cable routed to or near the rear-view mirror from an existing trailer cam input?

Those two mirrors will work on 1500s as well, and you can run a second digital rear view camera wherever you want, and switch between the two on the mirror. The only thing 19-20 owners won’t be able to experience is the auto detection of the tow mode camera when a 7-way trailer plug is hooked up, and the tow mode camera won’t automatically pan down when the transmission is put in reverse.

Yep for the 4th gen (classic) that means well be waiting another 10 years for the DT version lol

I was interested in doing this upgrade via infotainment.com and their plug and play kit. However due to me having a 2021 with an LSU code it can't be done? I guess the lsu is the collision code you guys had mentioned in the post.

Their site state that a diff mirror is needed however when speaking with them on the phone they stated that they can't seem to get it to work 😩 so atm I'm out of luck I believe.

You can add the digital mirror if you have LSU (forward collision warning). The member directly above your post just did it, and has LSU.
You just need to use mirror part number 68448641AB.

For the 21 model? That's the exact number part I believe the guys at infotainment.com told me but they couldn't get it to work on a 2021 with lsu code.

There’s plenty of people that I know of that have LSU, and added the DRVM on 2021-2022 1500’s and HD’s. The features themselves have nothing to do with each other, so the DRVM doesn’t care what other options are on the truck. Looks like infotainment uses 68448639AB in their kit. The only reason you can’t use that mirror is physical- the metal box on the mirror arm (used for the auto high beam camera on other mirrors) will hit the DASM before it is fully locked.

You got it.
Oh wow nice, do you happen to have the cable # vincent? And to confirm, I should still have my auto high beam/mirror dimming etc right? Just straight plug and play, no programming needed ?

I don't have the cable, but you can get it from amazon. No programming needed.
