Right now, it's riding in the passenger floorboard. My plan is up above the brake. There seems to be plenty of blank space there.

I put mine in the lower glovebox for now... it honestly might stay there since I don't use that glovebox for anything anyway.

I do have a question though regarding the BCM. When I put a scan tool on my truck the BCM comes up as a 2021 and the part number that comes up is also a 2021 BCM part number. I'm wondering if this will work for me and not be necessary to buy the additional BCM. Is there anyway to confirm other than buying the parts and installing?

What year is your truck? If it's a 2020, it is possible you got a later build and they put a 2021 BCM in. You do the upgrade with all the parts except for the BCM and see if it works.

Yes, it's a 2020. I agree with you that it probably was a late build and they used a 2021 BCM. Hopefully it will just be plug and play. Thanks for the reply Vincent.

Well I completed the installation today. I placed my BCM under the driver seat using Velcro. Jimmy07 thanks for making the cable sir.

That's great. Mine wouldn't fit under there because of the amp. I have the Alpine system. But it fit under the dash just fine.

Here's to another successful install.
It was mostly plug-n-play. I already installed the brake light and cable a while ago, so this was just a matter of swapping out my original auto-dim mirror and changing a couple settings.

I bought the mirror with two inputs. So now I have the option of installing an extension to my bumper (or somewhere) to plug a trailer camera in to, if I ever get a trailer that I'd want a camera on.

I asked @Jimmy07 about the various mirror part numbers after I looked up the differences between '21 and '22.
My understanding is that the one I installed is listed for 2500/3500s because they offer a trailer cam bulkhead connector on the bumper from the factory to plug a trailer cam into. After Jimmy confirmed it fits the 1500s, I ordered one. It was even a few bucks cheaper than the single-channel one. I paid 520 w/shipping new from world parts. No tax either.

2021 night edition third brake light

I ordered the light from my dealer this morning. They matched the $386.10 price I found online (they stated that was just about at cost). I want the light to match the night edition look of the rest of the truck. I may add the cable and mirror later.

Yes, that's the correct one. No, you won't lose auto from on the other mirrors.

I drove the truck last night at night for the first time since installing the mirror and it appears I’ve lost the auto dimming on my side view mirrors. Not a high deal because the windows are tinted, but I was thinking I’d keep that functionality.

Yeah, I noticed we lost that too. But I'd rather have the digital mirror over auto dimming.

Yes, you just need the mirror and Fakra cable.

Yes, that should be all you need.

I think it was the '19 and '20s that required the BCM trick, discussed not to far above.

So to be clear, is the 2022 2500 version p/n 68519222AA, is functionally and physically the same as the 2021 1500 version p/n 68448641ab, except for the addition of the 2nd camera input of course?
