Considering your tires and extra weight, that's not bad... still better than mine stock!!
That would be from the knobby tires and 3.92 gear ratio on the Rebel. The 20 mpg on sticker is based on a 2wd Tradesman, eco friendly 32 inch tires, 3.21 gears, downhill, 105 lb driver, 2 gallons of gas, and a tailwind. They probably left the spare behind too.Hi there,
I took my new 2021 Ram Rebel for the first road trip north and was a little disappointed by the fuel economy. I got 15.5 miles per gallon, and it supposedly does get 20 mpg. I had a Durango SRT before and if driven at 75 miles per hour got 18.8 mpg, and the Durango had a 6.4l V8. The Rebel ECO mode going to 4 cylinders does not seem to kick in at those speeds at all.
What's your experience? What fuel mileage do you get?
3100 km, have switched to Synthetic oil... still improving. This is mostly highway...

One thing I noticed my eco light came on a few times, but after I got about 4000 miles it I saw it a lot more on the same roads. Not sure if computer is setting up driving styles or not.Hi there,

Agree. I've done 400 mile trips from southern tip of NY to Buffalo and have done a bit better (20+) by doing the speed limit and no traffic.Took my bone stock bighorn with a 5.7 plain jane up through the PA mountains to wine country this pass weekend. Pulling a 17 ft bass boat I managed 16.7 mpg on the way north. Drove home empty and averaged 19.4 mpg. That's running up with the cruise set at 70 and home with the cruise at 75. Also took a trip down the PA turnpike about a 130 mile haul, empty, averaged 18.4 with the cruise set at 80. It depends greatly on speed and driving habits in my opinion.
Did you recalibrate for tire size? If not, you are probably getting more mpg as each tire revolution goes further distance so it could be underreporting the speed and distance.Rebel with 6 inch lift and 37s. Stock from I was getting around 15.9. As it sits now 14.0-15
Have a 2014 tradesmen 5.7 hemi that gets 22 on the hwy and my 2021 rebel gets 16.5 the 14 runs like a bat out of hell but doesn't look near as good or have awesome 4wd I'll keep recycling cardboard for the environment and drive a BA truck that drinks gas like whiskey smiling the whole timeEither your friend is telling a slightly white lie or he is driving even more conservative than you. I get about 13 mpg, that's with 60% city / 40% highway. If I hypermile it, I can get up with maybe 17, even 19 mpg highway with MDS operating.
If you search other mpg threads regarding Rebels, your mpg is about right. However the Hemi is known as a tight motor that gradually "loosens" up over time and improves mpg a little, but not anywhere near enough to match what your friend is doing.
As for me, I knew what I was getting into. 33" A/T tires, 1" suspension lift and 3.92 rear axle means terrible mpg. Your window sticker mpg is a lie, FCA blanket stated based on similar configured truck (i.e. crew cab, 4x4), but with 18" street tires and 3.21 rear axle. They are allowed to do that, but it's downright shady. At least GM bothered to adjust their Trail Boss packaged trims down a little because they come with 32" tires and off-road group and knew it wouldn't come close to the regular truck mpg.
The reason why FCA doesn't care is because they are already having issues keeping their CAFE numbers down, already buying carbon credits from Tesla by the millions, they can't afford to classify Rebels with accurate mpg figures.
whats your average speed? My 21 exceeds my expectations for mpg. 5.7 no Etorque
