I bought this truck with 66 miles on it - The brakes have squealed since I've had it. Now about 2200 miles on it. It's currently sitting at the dealership for the 3rd time. 1st time I took in for window tint and mentioned the driver side both doors out of alignment and the squealing noise coming from the brakes. I picked it up and they said it was fixed. The only thing done was window tint. Took in for the 2nd time, they couldn't replicate the noise. I told them drive it home. The manager did and heard it. I'm guessing nothing was done to it because it still squealed, they did fix the door alignment, however when fixing the doors, they put it somewhere that it got overspray almost covering the entire truck. 3rd time now, it's been there almost a month, haven't seen yet, but supposedly got the overspray off. Dealership said it's a Star case and it's calling to replace the front calipers and pads. (I swear the noise is coming from the rear). I asked why not the rotors as well. They said that is not being called for. Parts are on back order and hoping to come in by the 24th. The dealership has almost had my truck longer than I've owned it. I just made the 3rd payment. This has been so disappointing. You spend over $50k on a brand new car and you don't even get to use it. With all of these cases, you'd think there would be a class action suit coming up. I do not want this truck at all anymore. Took the new car purchase fun right out of the equation.

It will get worse in cold wet weather... better in hot dry weather ... The only solution I think is to replace the brake pads with non TRW pads... a new supplier and new design supposedly

My LL goes into the shop tomorrow. Same brake squeal. It’s been replicated and the STAR case has authorized the repair. All pets finally came in last week (took about a month).

I’ll let you know if there is any improvement. I hope your time goes a little better once everything is taken care of.

Mine has the rear brake noise as well, been trying to get it fixed since Feb. Been in shop 3 times, took apart and put back together so many time all the lug nuts are mangled and have rust spots.
FCA rep has worked and finally got parts to the dealer, she said they will be calling to get this taken care of ASAP. Three days no call from dealer. Guess I'll have to call and harrass them again.
I agree with the OP, all this mess takes the fun out of buying a truck. Dealer service / Parts is horrible to deal with, every time I call they say "we've been trying to call you" verify number, sure enough they have correct phone number, they sure didn't have trouble getting the phone to work when trying to sell me this thing,

No just my fronts and they are bad. Light to moderate braking 50->20 they squeal like it doesn’t have brakes at all.

Dropped off the truck and I should have it back this afternoon. I’ll check back in then after I drive it some.

The new brakes fixed my reversing groan in the morning. This is my third set of brake pads on the truck. The first set squealed when stopping between 20-40 mph. The second set moaned and groaned backing up in the morning. Nice to drive a quiet truck finally.

I have both of those things at the moment. Second trip to the dealer for that coming soon

Dealer just told me they would pick my truck up at 8:30 Tuesday morning 4/30 (Told them I wasn't' taking off work again for this, would make the 4th time). So he says they'll come get it, then asks if I can call them on Monday to remind them they are supposed to get it and work on it. Now I have to be their planner as well! What a bunch of clowns. I'm not even sure I want them touching the brakes on my truck at this point if they can't even manage their own appointments.

Hi everyone,
We are sorry to hear that you are all experiencing this brake squeal. Please send our team a private message and we would be happy to have a case escalated on your behalf to add an additional layer of assistance throughout this process.

I have a special case manager on my brake squealing issue (or whatever they call them, star?) Dealer REPLICATED the issue and said theres nothing they can do and it's normal lol. I told them ok, and got in touch with @RamCares and they're helping me out. Haven't gotten a solution yet but we will see. I told them to just do pads and rotors and call it a day....why make things complicated

I suggested the same thing to my dealer. They said they had to go through the process. Problem is, that process involves me having to come back in, getting them to replicate the issue, etc...

December 2018 build Laramie here, with tow package (as if that matters) and with 4300 miles, I have 0 brake noise. I am very sensitive to noises that shouldn't be there. Is there a build date range that is most affected by this, or has it been sort of random?

Mine was built in November 18, the TSB has dates from like July-September if I remember correctly. So since mine wasnt within the dates they said it was normal lol. Ummm no, no brand new truck with less than 2500 miles that's 50k+ should have squealing brakes. Sometimes I dont get how these service managers get hired...

I just had all 4 pads replaced, supposedly with a new RAM re-designed configuration (no caliper or rotor work) and it is the first time quiet in 5 months I have had the truck.

i have an appointment next week to replace the front pads and calipers. I'll post back if it fixes the brake squeal. It took about 3 weeks to get the parts, one of the calipers held things up. Mine is a June build.

Update:

I picked my truck up and I can say that with the help of a PM on here to @RamCares I think my problem is solved.

Replicating the problem wasn’t hard
Parts were ordered and escalated in priority by @RamCares
Was able to drop off today and have drove 30 miles in city driving and have not heard the squeal once

Fix:
New brake pads
Calipers

Time will tell but I know I would have heard it already in that same stretch a few dozen times.

So far I’m impressed with ram and the customer service. Dealers are hit or miss. It did take 3 dealers until I found one competent but again time will tell.

My truck has sounded like a school bus since the day I drove it off the lot when braking from 70-40. Today I took it to the dealership for the 5k oil change and a look at the brakes. The service record says they replaced both front rotors and pads with "AC" revision pad kit. No mention of replacing the calipers like the Star Case recommended. So far, so good but I've only put about 30 miles on it. I'll know more in about a week. They also put me on the waiting list for the rear kit per TSB 05-001-19, so hopefully I'll get that one worked in as well. Mine was an August build.
