I've had my 2019 Ram 1500 for two weeks. I have not been able to get the XM 360L to work properly. I can receive XM channels but my unit does not save favorite channels nor does it allow me to create profiles or listeners. When attempting to create an avatar for the profile it freezes or I get an error. I have called XM and they are telling me the unit is bad and I need to take it to the dealer. I think if I reset the unit and start all over again, it may work. I have no issue with taking it to the dealer, I'm just curious if anyone else is experiencing the issue and could it be resolved by resetting and starting the setup from scratch. Great forum site!!

gehhh, I find it a little surprising that XM immediately said "call FCA for a new unit". Seems extreme, let us know what you find out! My 12" has been great, it has froze a few times by not displaying any info for radio, but just pressing climate and back to radio straightened it out. Best of luck

On the last gen you could reboot the system by pressing in the tune and volume knobs simultaneously for around 10 seconds until the screen turned off. I have to reboot mine about once a month it seems. I'd imagine they kept it the same on these.

Somewhere within the settings menu of the system there should be a factory reset option as well, which should clear out any preferences, used when you trade your truck in.

Between not like the dial shifter and not looking the fancy first year stuff, what exactly attracted you to purchase an 19 Ram? Just curious

Free truck? lemon law? I didn't get the fancy touch screen and or e-torque. I am skeptical of both being its 1yrs release like many others

Gotcha. Surprised you didn't go for a 2018 version, since it would have more of the bugs worked out...was that an option?

It was an option but I figured for re-sale value I would be getting more for my money going with the 2019. FCA allowed me to pick a 2017, 2018, and or 2019. FCA allowed me to pick one on my dealers lot or build one.

Thanks for the suggestion of holding down the volume and tuning buttons. I'll give that a shot. I expect to encounter a few bugs so I'm okay with that aspect. I am a technology guy so I know that consumers/users are sometimes the best testers (lol). I am hoping to figure it out before taking it in. I had a used 2014 1500 Laramie that I absolutely loved, my first full sized truck. I was blown away by the design and features of the new 2019 so I jumped when I found one equipped the way I wanted. No regrets.

Was a case opened? I haven't heard anything from Ram. Kinda embarrassing when I show off this large screen media center to friends and tell them that it doesn't work.

Here is an update on my Uconnect issues. The dealer was not able to resolve the Uconnect Sirius XM issue. They said it was a known issue. I was told that a future software update would be needed to resolve the problem. They told me to expect an update with the next month or two. So much for enjoying the fancy 12" inch screen functions this summer. I do give credit to the RamCares representative. They have expedited the issue with Ram. Not sure if the 12" media center is ready for public enjoyment.

Oh cool. They sold you a defective product and are now telling you to wait with no firm answer as to when a fix would come out. Dang man.

Such is the nature of software. My 2014 Jeep's RA4 Uconnect has been updated 5 times in 5 years. It was a year 1 redesign as well. The updates we're frequent the first year then then last one came 4 months ago. I have no complaints.

So I am not the only one with issues on uconnect. 2019 , Longhorn 1500 with 12inch.
My radio has frozen twice. The weather radar works about 20% of the time. The traffic live updates are also intermittent. I spoke with Sirius and she explained they don’t know and would escalate.

My brakes now squeal also. 1490 miles and my third trip to the dealer is forthcoming. No one seems to care that a customer purchases a 60k truck and it is not working as designed.

Try disconnecting the battery and leave it off for 10 minutes and see if that helps your audio unit. Mine is pretty good since doing that. The only real glitch is it won’t keep the top screen memory when using he split screen. Software update eventually will fix that. You can also try sending a refresh signal on your Sirius account.

Brakes noisy? Get new front pads installed from your dealer. They need to look like the ones on the left of this picture. It will fix it. They changed the pads old on the right noisy every stop with light braking left pads quiet and happy stops since.

It doesn’t matter how much you spend, cars have issues. It sucks but price doesn’t mean much as far as that goes.

SOLUTION

I've had my 2019 Laramie 1500 for about 2 weeks now. I wasn't able to keep my saved presets either. I spent an hour-and-a-half on the phone with both FCA Uconnect and Sirius XM. Sirius XM sent me a subscription reset, and that fix the problem. the dealer told me that the trucks are shipped with the radios in demo mode, and apparently having serious send a subscription update over-the-air fixed my problem. The only issue now is that the screen freezes up every once in awhile, and I can't use it. Would love to know how to reset it too.
Good luck
