It’s great. I put about 500lbs in the bed. Trailer is 1800 lbs and car is 2600-2700 lbs. I get 15mpg towing and have no real trouble.

Here is my setup. First truck and so nice not to drive the car to/from events.

From the factory the cargo lamps won’t operate with the transmission out of park. Doesn’t matter what position the tailgate is. But I’m not sure what happens with the reprogramming folks are doing with AlphaOBD.

What’s annoying me even more is you can still build my 2020 Laramie on ramtrucks.com and the website still shows the tailgate ajar warning as part of my Level 1 equipment package. See the photo.

I think loaners are usually at the descretion of the dealership. My s suggestion is you work directly with Ram Cars to arrange the service with the dealer so they deal with and know what Ram Cares said.

@apctjb you might want to consider a small uhaul enclosed trailer: https://www.uhaul.com/Trailers/4x8-Cargo-Trailer-Rental/UV/ If you do that I’d buy (2) spare trailer tires though for 1000 mile trip. I don’t think uhaul provides them.
