I know these HPFPs can fail, but my neighbor is the shop foreman at our local dealership (fairly large) and he said they have not had a single Gen 3 come in with a failed HPFP. They’ve had lots of Cummins with bad HPFPs, but many of those were due to bad fuel, gas in the tank, Def in the tank etc.
The tires that come with the ORG are the Falken Wildpeak AT3WA. They are a good A/T tire, but not as aggressive of a tread as the Duratracs on the Rebel or the after market Wildpeak AT3W tires. The AT3WA tires have great road manners, are good in the rain and decent in the snow, but probably...
There is an owner on one of the other sites that has over 150K trouble free miles on his Gen 3. I’d say by and large these are quite reliable and Ram got it right with this one. I have close to 60K between the 2020 I owned and now my 2021 and both were trouble free. Just take care of it and...
I just replaced the OEM Wildpeak AT3WA tires on my truck with new 275/60R20 AT3W Wildpeaks. Just as quiet and smooth riding as the OEM tires but much more capable and better looking.
My Carplay hasn’t worked properly since IOS 15.3, somedays it works, somedays it doesn’t. My phone is now on IOS 16.2 and my UConnect is 39.9. I’ve tried everything, only thing left is to replace the media hub.
I literally just purchased a plan from my dealer this morning, 4 oil changes with tire rotation for $500. Pretty fair price and comparable to the MOPAR plan.
My 2020 Laramie had 22,000 trouble free miles when I traded it in for my 2021 Longhorn. The Longhorn now has 27,000 trouble free miles. I use Hotshot EDT at every fill up and have the dealer do the oil changes using MOPAR/Pennzoil oil. I average 23-24 MPG driving a mix of city and highway...
I just used the last of my 3 for $340 plan, the new one offered by my dealer is 4 for $465, still a good deal. There is another dealer in town that won’t honor the MOPAR plan, they want to tack on extra for ”shop fees”. Needless to say I don’t go to that dealer.
That fuel filter price is totally wrong, I just bought an OEM MOPAR filter this week from Diesel Filters Online for $44.79. The factory recommended interval is every 20,000 miles. The manual says to change the oil every 10,000 miles, I normally do mine every 7500.
This seems to be a pretty common issue, almost always originating from the right rear wheel and caused by a short in the wiring harness. Ram definitely has an issue with how that wire bundle is routed causing it to get rubbed. On my 2020 they had to drop the fuel tank to repair the short, but...
Just to update this thread, I took my truck in to the dealer to look at why my Carplay wasn't working and they said my Uconnect was not compatible with IOS versions beyond 15.1 so nothing they could do until Uconnect released a software update. After not working for nearly 2 months, Carplay...
Mine went from $71,280 in May '21 to $78,180 today. Part of that is the Longhorn Level 1 package has some extras and now costs about $3000 more than it did last year.
Yeah, it’ll hold a bunch of ammo. I shoot a lot of sporting clays and it’ll easily hold 3 cases of shells, probably a bit more.
Dimensions are 4’ across by 5’7” with short bed, so you lose some width with the ram boxes.
My 2020 had the warped lids from the beginning and they got worse after the first summer with the truck. The lids on my 2021 have hardly warped at all, even after a full Louisiana summer. Not sure if Ram changed something on the 2021 or it’s luck of the draw, but so far so good.
