I also received a touch-up paint stick for mine from Brandon Dodge in Colorado. Nicest touch up paint I've ever used. Great match, with clear coat built into the stick. I've used it quite extensively already..... :/
Summary:
M12 T-Slot Nut for a 16mm slot ground down ~1-2mm in height. Only found these available at Mcmaster-Carr. 16mm length bolts are perfect. 25mm would likely be max when you add on extras to avoid bottoming the bolt out. If I were to do this again, I'd just cut metal plate into squares...
The nutserts supplied with the bed rail can be installed with only a wrench/ratchet. As they are hex shapes going into a hex hole, they are held from spinning. The directions even say just to tighten them down to a certain torque, remove the bolt, install the rails, and then tighten about 2-3...
Just came home with my Leer 100RCC. It's pretty darn perfect. I'm nitpicky as anything when I don't do the work myself, and I am completely impressed with the initial finish quality and installation. My ARE CX on my 2004 ram was 10 years old to be fair, but this is a much nicer piece at first...
I'm getting mine (100RCC) tomorrow and this is my only concern. Leer stated Mopar changed the Granite Crystal paint slightly in August 2018 (or something like that). Mine was built in July....hoping Mopar did a hard switch on a single date on the paint, and not a slow phase out.
Unfortunately not....only gray and brown...per typical Carhartt branded colors. Precision fit does make black covers...but not with the Carhartt material. I would've favored black as well.
It's junk for any place that has salt/mag chloride used on their roads in the winter. If you don't religiously clean after every drive, they will be stained. My chrome trim and wheels are, after one winter being "fairly religious" with cleaning, is all pretty bad.
I am already planning on...
I took the plunge and went all out on seat covers. I love the interior of the new ram, and didn't want to ruin it by loose fitting or cheap seat covers. I found out Precision Fit is right down the road from me near Denver, CO, so took a drive down, spoke to them, saw some samples, and was sold...
This is a casing swap, rather than a "lunchbox" type system. It's pretty time consuming and involved. I am unsure of what the inside of our truck's read end looks like, but what you'll likely need for a full job is
Bearing puller
Bearing press
Marking compound
Flux Brush
Dial indicator with...
As an engineer myself....making something work in existing space is way more difficult and time consuming than starting from scratch. It may may take less work during construction, but the upfront time is almost always greater.
I just ordered a LEER 100RCC with vented windoors for my 6'4" bed; Granite Crystal/PAU.....4 weeks out. After seeing the look of the 100R on SlimChance's Trucks we posted earlier, I was sold. The windoors will definitely detract from the look a bit, but I got a solid deal on the upgrade. The RCC...
Still averaging 17 in the city. I get up to 25 on open highways. I've been extremely happy. I've always been a slower and less snappy driver, so I'm not doing anything special (compared to myself) to get this.
At 3k miles right now. Hasn't gotten any better since around 500 miles.
Ha! Definitely worth every electron. I have been a big fan of the framed rear window for durability. I have backed them up into my garage so many times. A few whacks with a hammer, and they're aligned and working again. The replacement costs is also wayyyyy cheaper than a frameless. As much as I...
That rear framed window actually looks much better than I anticipated! Looks like they did a slight revamp from the previous ones I've seen. Might have to look at Leer again.
I've been debating on a new topper for some time, and waiting patiently. I had a ARE CX for 8+ years on my 04 ram, that I've been very happy with. I have been speaking to my local ARE dealer who has been very awesome....so sticking with another ARE through them. The Revo and Evolve have just...
That is
That is the correct j-clip. I cut mine down in length so it didn't extend past the access panel's width. This allows the access panel to be bolted down flush (or mostly) again. I'm happy with the j-clip design.
Ended up going with Rocket Audio to play my stored media....works exactly how I had hoped. No need to pay for it at this time...doesn't affect it's use through android audio as far as I've noticed.
Thanks for the information!
