Resetting battery life in ECU when changed

I ordered a battery tonight. Ordered another for her jeep which is a few years older. I went to work tonight and it barely turned over. I hit the switch and seen the voltage was 14.7 volts as it was running. I let it run for 20 minutes. Shut it down, clicked accessory and read the voltage...

Resetting battery life in ECU when changed

So what is the battery life on a new Ram? 4-5 years or do they fail sooner than that? Also if you do replace the battery like that video, and leave it dead for a few hours, will it affect your XM radio? I don't care to loose stations, I don't want the truck not to know it has a radio in it....

Console Vault - In Vehicle Safe Review

I put mine in 5 months ago. It's a sweet box for pistols.

    Extended warranty

My truck is still a baby. Approaching 10,000 soon but I drive 8 miles a day round trip to work. I and you should change the oil twice a year because of climate and me because of super short trips. I use regular oil, I won't use synthetic because I dump it out with 1,500 mikes or more for work...

    Extended warranty

It depends on your age and situation in life. If your the type of person that will replace the truck in 4-5 years then don't bother. The trucks are reliable, but like any new vehicle they are not perfect and have a few weak links. Mostly what I read on the forum here is the exhaust manifolds...

Demand For Electric Pickup Trucks Continue To Decline

I won't ever buy an EV. Maybe a go cart would be fun!

    Exhaust manifold recall

I never had experienced them break or manifolds crack since my oldest truck a 52 chev, which I fixed up. Sure I changed them out to hot rod them, but I never experienced manifold malfunctions in any vehicle I owned or drove.

    Exhaust manifold recall

Well I never heard of this problem outside of Ram trucks, so having manifold problems is BS. I've owned new cars and trucks since 1982. So I'm not wet behind the ears. I look forward to mine snapping off in the near future. Lol

    Ram reliability?

My Ram is more reliable than the last 3 Silverado's I bought new. The last 3 Chevys had electrical issues. The first one the dealer swapped out the entire speedometer cluster (everything in front of the steering wheel) the other 2 where traded away when I couldn't take it anymore. The new 21...

    2019 knocking/tapping issue

I go for my pre paid insurance oil change plan at the dealer. They use regular oil twice a year. Mine is a 21. Did they change it?

    2019 knocking/tapping issue

If your not already using this, next oil change try synthetic, or next heavier weight oil in your owners manual. It might help lube (or fill the voids) better. Mine sounds like yours, but maybe not as loud. I don't hear anything when the motor is warmed up, only cold start. Some engines have...

What's your experience with your local RAM dealer's service dept.

I think they all suck. My Ram dealer in Bristol CT always leaves a trail of oil dripping after each oil change. I bought an insurance plan that came with "free" oil changes so I'm forced to bring it back twice a year. The service advisers are nice, but when it's on the lift I'm not pleased with...

Broken key fob Can you still drive it?

I didn't know this info. I posted a question on this subject. Then because of it late at night I wasn't getting any replies so google is your best friend. I found a video and then I found this site and copied the instructions and posted it here. I'm just relieved that if my key fob gets...

Broken key fob Can you still drive it?

How to start a 2019 Ram when your key fob battery is dead To start your Ram: Place your foot on the brake. Press the butt end of the key fob against the “Push Start” button. Your truck will detect the chip inside the key fob and start the engine. You can also use the Ram UConnect mobile app...

Safe for the inside of your truck

The 2 screws drill into the plastic on the insides. You can't remove this safe without destroying the console. It's an excellent strong box for your truck. Most thugs will smash the window and grab loose items and run. They won't want to hang around trying to open this. Also if you trade your...

Safe for the inside of your truck

I work nights and carry. But going to work, I can't bring my toy inside. I found this storage locker which fits my needs nicely. My truck is a BigHorn so if you decide to get one of these, just use their website and choose the locker your after for your truck. The trims are different. The one I...

Hesitation off the line when trans/engine is cold - anyone else?

With my 2021, if I don't do a dead stop at a stop sign, I think the truck's tranny is in 2nd, then as I drove away from the stop sign it shifts to first, causing the slight lag. I'm normally cold and puttering around town, so I don't think much about it. To check the oil, go for a drive, let...
